On any given day, Delmar is busy at the bakery, flour up to his elbows and a white apron tied neatly around his waist. He's got pies and cakes on display and sweet rolls in the oven and the cheerful yellow bakery smells of spices and baked dough. When he can he greets customers or his fellow workers with a cheerful hello and if he has time to stop and chat he'll ask them what they'd like or about their day.
A sign in the window reads 'All Help and All Customers Welcome!" So if you want to be a baker or just have a sweet tooth, please come on in, chat with your local elderly pastry-smith, grab a slice of cake, or just have a chat with some friends.
(ooc: please feel free to make your own threads!}

even before she enters, there's an almost palpable aura of warmth and welcome. perhaps it's due to the delicious smells emanating from the bakery. perhaps it's inspired by Delmar's presence alone. either way, she feels safer here than she's felt since she was murdered.
she opens the door and walks inside]
Hello, Delmar. What have you been working on?
no subject
Miss Margaery! Hello!
[He moves to wiggle around the counter so he can give her a hug before pausing, realizing that he's covered in flower]
Oh dear...I don't want to get you all dirty...
[He holds his hands to show her what he means, wiggling flour coated fingers]
no subject
Nonsense. Flour washes out easily.
[she goes in to give him a tight hug]
Something certainly smells delicious in here. What would you recommend?
no subject
I recommend everything!
[Really he wants her to try all of it, forgetting in his excitement that such a suggestion really isn't practical]
no subject
Everything! I'm not sure I could eat everything. I like pastries with fruit, though. Do you have anything like that?
[she would try everything if she could. she'd have to work in extra sword practice, though, to keep herself slender]
no subject
[He laughs at himself before flitting over to the counter]
Well, we'll have to find just the thing for you.
[Which involves him peeking through the glass, fingers wiggling excitedly in the air as he looks until he makes a declarative sound of discovery in his throat as he decides on one. He reemerges from behind the counter holding up a tart laden with ripe red berries]
How about this one?
no subject
[his laughter and good humor makes Margaery smile]
I'm sure you'll find just the right thing to try.
[she follows his gaze as best as she can and makes a sound of delight when he emerges with the tart]
That looks perfect? May I? [she asks, reaching for the tart]

[Michael was absolutely no help in building the bakery, and he's an absolute shit cook, so he's stayed out of it for the most part. But this is Delmar's pride and joy, and he could use some chocolate therapy after recent events, so here he is, to at least say hi.
He approaches the counter, but he's looking around at all the baked goods, trying to take it all in.]
Place looks great, Delmar. Looks like you've been busy.
Open!
[Later, he's just sort of loitering around the cakes, clearly trying to pick one out. Because right now taking home an entire cake and eating it by himself feels like a very well-deserved and adult thing to do.
He might share a piece with Harlan. Maybe.
Anyway, maybe you'd like to offer a suggestion? Or just to talk. Either one.]

That one on the right has peach filling. The one one the left has strawberry. The one in the middle? That's a surprise.
no subject
Oh, uh. Is it a good surprise or a bad surprise?
[Like are we talking chocolate or chili powder? Wait. He'd appreciate that second one.]
no subject
It's a great surprise. I should know, I'm the one who made the filling.
[chocolate and chili go well together?]
no subject
Are taste tests allowed? Not doubting your skills, just, uh, curious.
no subject
Sure? I mean, why not? Which one do you wanna try?
no subject
[Curiosity is killing this proverbial cat.]

[Delmar shuffles forward from where he was slipping a pie in the oven near the back. Given there is a counter separating them, he reaches out to pat him excitedly on the shoulder, sparing him a hug.
He then laces his fingers together, clasping his hands close to his chest excitedly]
Would you like your first ever treat from the bakery, Michael?
[If you say no you may break his heart. Play it carefully, Michael.]
no subject
Yeah, of course. What've you got?
no subject
Welllllll we have fruit pies and sweet buns...some fresh chocolate cookies....we have this one that I made with a fruit I don't recognize but it was such a nice color I couldn't imagine it wouldn't be tasty....
[He's holding up a tart resplendent with a psychedelically colored fruit(?) on top, swirls of blues and pinks]
no subject
It does look tasty. I can be the guinea pig?
no subject
[Delmar sets it on the counter in front of Michael, adding a knife and fork next to it]
Promise you'll stop right away if you think it tastes too strange or if you don't feel yourself, Michael!

a few days after Tucker's movie night
There's a man working some dough on the counter behind the display, and Wash clears his throat softly to get attention. The sign in the window did say customers welcome, after all. ]
Excuse me? What are you charging..?
no subject
[He's in the middle of finishing a braid of dough for a pie crust so he doesn't look right away, instead calling in his usual chipper voice. The moment he is finish, he claps his hands to rid them of some of the flour and hurries over]
How can I hel-- Oh! Hello there!
[His fingers knot together excitedly when it's someone he recognizes]
Everything here is free. You just go on and tell me what you might like.
no subject
[ This is a surprise. Wash just blinks at him for a moment before smiling a little, then glancing to the case and back and shaking his head. ]
It can't just be free.

no subject
I'm not sure... what do you recommend?
no subject
[He taps the glass just above the pie in question. Delmar has always been one for comfort foods....pies, pork chops, biscuits....]
But a lot of people like the chocolate cupcakes.
