It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.
There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!
To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!► This log covers April 14th-April 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!

[ Curufin sees those pink ears. How adorable! ]

[ Not that Maedhros can't but he's definitely the worst of them ]
no subject
[ Of course, he probably has been stuck with more than usual anyway, since Curufin hasn't been up to it for these last two weeks and can't take his usual turn. ]
no subject
Well, I suppose I should be nice to my invalid brother!
no subject
[ Bright smile. ] You can be nice to me right now by handing me one of those honey cakes.

[ he pretends to frown, but he does reach for the tray to share ]

[ Curufin takes one of the cakes with a nod of thanks. He nibbles, and over his face comes an expression of bliss and nostalgia. ]
I can see her mixing the dough and forming it into cakes with her strong, graceful hands. I can hear her singing as she slides the cookie sheets into the oven and tosses the crockery into the suds in the sink. And I can see her smiling as she looks upon her sons, whichever of us are drinking glasses of milk and telling stories and laughing and joking while we wait for the cakes to come out of the oven. I can smell that heavenly scent wafting to the ceiling, and I can feel her smile like a caress.
You used to bring your harp on such occasions, do you remember? You'd play us your latest, and sing, too. It was lovely, and it made the time pass.

I remember. It has been a long time since those days.
no subject
A long time, yes. [ Softly. ] It is a part of our strength that we remember the good days so vividly.

The curse of elven memory! But this memory, at least, is not touched by sorrow.

It's a wonder we ever developed the art of writing. We as a people certainly don't need it for record-keeping, not with our memory for EVERY LITTLE THING.
Our memories of Nerdanel the Wise, our forever-beloved amil, are purely sweet and will never dim.
no subject
We developed the art of writing so that friends and colleagues could argue over long distances, I am certain this is so.
no subject
Yes! I am certain you are right. And also to have time to polish our invective before delivering it.

And that's true, Moryo was actually good at writing. He wrote with such a beautiful hand! When we were all sitting at the same table with all that clutter of pens and pencils and ink bottles and scrolls of parchment, I used to sidle up to him and look over his arm and try to copy his style.

[ Maglor smiles at the memory ]
He always had a good hand. It served him well for his embroidery work, too. But we all had our own talents! I remain surprised how terrible your writing was, though.

[ Happy memories! ]
I remember his embroidery. The first time I saw him working on it, I was just a little Elfling. . . and he wasn't all that much bigger, but he was working away at a little flag that was a prototype of a banner he wanted to make. I hung on his shoulder and blinked in astonishment at how beautiful the colors were, and how skillfully stitched were the figures of stars and flowers. I couldn't pronounce my "r's" yet. [ Chuckle.] "MOWO! WHAT YOU DOING???" I asked.
