Event Log: A Hope for the Future

What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!
When: April 15th-April 19th
Warnings: Stealth Rock

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

Jo carefully scoops a few of the spiced tater tots onto Margaery's plate.]

What do you have from home? Looks like game meat.

[everyone needs to know what a monster Joffrey was.

she nods her head in gratitude]

It's venison. I haven't had any since I came here. I'd let myself forget how much I missed it.

Oh, it's been a while since I had venison. [She laughs quietly.]

It's hard to get good food here.

There should still be plenty left, if you'd like some?

Indeed. The selection at the stores is often dreadful.

[knifecollecting]

I'm getting full, but thanks. [She smiles her thanks.]

I know Hope does his best, but damn, I miss good food.

[roseofthetyrells]

As you wish.

So do I. I'm thinking about taking the platter of what's left home with me. Do you think they'd mind?

[knifecollecting]

[Jo shrugs.]

I don't think it disappears and Hope made it for us to eat.

[roseofthetyrells]

Then I'll take it all with me. That, the potatoes, the carrots, and especially the Arbor Gold.

[knifecollecting]

That sounds like a plan. [She smiles broadly.]

Is Arbor Gold wine?

[roseofthetyrells]

I don't know how I'll carry it all, but I'll manage.

It is! The best wine in all of Westeros. Would you like to try some?

[knifecollecting]

Do you have a bag? That would help.

[Jo considers the offer before smiling.]

Might as well.

[roseofthetyrells]

No, not with me. I'd have to go back to my apartment and trust that the food remains.

[Margaery smiles back and reaches for a bottle of wine, uncorking it, and pouring some into a pair of nearby wine glasses. it's a golden colored wine with a scent of honey, apples, and orange blossoms along with the grapes. she offers a glass to Jo]

Here you are.

I don't think it'll disappear that quick. [She smiles as she reaches out to take the offered wine.]

Thanks. [She takes a deep breath, briefly appreciating the scent. She always liked honey.]

You drink a lot of this?

[roseofthetyrells]

I hope not. [she hands it over with a smile]

You're welcome. [Margaery swirls her wine in her glass a little before breathing it in, then taking a sip]

No, not really. I saved it for special occasions in King's Landing. I didn't drink that much there as it was. I had to keep my wits sharp.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo doesn't swirl the wine, but she does take a slow sip. She knows that much about wine.]

You never got to relax, did you?

[roseofthetyrells]

[she takes another sip as she ponders how best to answer that question]

...in truth? No.

[knifecollecting]

That had to suck. [Jo can't imagine living like that.]

[roseofthetyrells]

It wasn't easy. [she'd thought that it would all be worth it in the end, but in the end all she did was die horribly]

[knifecollecting]

[Jo understands that.]

Are you relaxing here?

[roseofthetyrells]

[Margaery used to be able to say "yes" to that question, but after first losing Matt and then being murdered, she can't anymore]

I used to be able to.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo watches the other woman for a moment, thinking back over some of their conversations.]

I'm sorry.

[roseofthetyrells]

[immediately, Margaery feels that she's revealed too much and tries to retreat into her pleasant, pleasing persona]

What's there to be sorry for?

[knifecollecting]

[She shrugs.]

None of us get what we really want, I think. Especially here. You're used to better.

[roseofthetyrells]

...yes. And no. If it were better back home, I'd never have died.

[knifecollecting]

...Yeah. [God, Jo could practically hear herself say that too.]

Unfortunately, shit does happen.
