What: The event log for the A Hope for the Future event
Where: All over the city!

It's finally time to reap the rewards you've earned from all that hard work collecting and returning the Hope orbs! Be careful walking the streets during the small earthquakes, but feel free to admire the scenery as your beautiful city reassembles its way back into its former glory.

There are new houses where the destroyed buildings once were, and they're perfect for a single person or pair of lovebirds. In addition, you'll find that the electricity to these new houses, and all other homes and shops in the city is restored. The food is better, the monsters are gone- hey, this city might be livable again!

To cap it all off, we've got a feast waiting for you on the 19th! Come one, come all, and enjoy all of your favorite foods, drinks, and party games. It's been awhile since we've all gotten together to celebrate something good, so get your party on and toss all your troubles away!

[Lup's never been too prideful to step up to total strangers for conversation, and as buzzed as she currently is, there's just absolutely nothing left to stop her this time, even if she doesn't recognize the guy in the slightest.

So the elf slides up to where Kiran's perched by the wall, grinning from ear-to-ear.]

You really gonna wallflower for the whole party, hun? It's pretty bumpin', as far as Hadriel shindigs go.

[Kiran notices someone coming close to him out of the corner of his eye, but it's not until the person speaks that she's there to talk to him. He studies her for a moment, trying to determine if they've met before. He's... pretty sure they haven't. Or if they have, he totally forgot who she is.

He swishes the liquid in his wine glass around and shrugs his shoulders. He's shy, but he's also pretending to be apathetic in an effort to hide it.]

Is it? First one I've been to. [he glances at her again.] We haven't... met, have we?

[Not to worry, Kiran. Lup would say she's totally unforgettable, so probably just haven't met up yet.]

Oh yeah, usually the liquor isn't flowin' so freely an' the spread never looks nearly as good. The liches in charge actually got one right.

[Lup reaches up to brush the bangs from her eyes, moving to lean up against the wall, as casually as an elf this drunk can manage. She's usually quite graceful, but she's also a lightweight, so this party isn't doing her any favors.]

Nah, I don't think so. Does it matter?

[Liches? His brow furrows for a moment, and then, he notices her pointed ears. Ah, okay - she's from another world too. He's met a lot of people like this already, so it doesn't strike him as strange this time.]

I guess not. My name is Kiran... nice to meet you.

[He notices her swaying slightly.] You alright? Sloshed already, huh? [she did say this is an extravagant party in terms of the booze.]

Lup. Pleasure an' all that.

[Look. This is a fun party and she will not be shamed for over-enjoying herself.]

Excuse you, I'm a lady an' ladies don't get sloshed. We get trashed. Total difference.

[Kiran snickers at her comment and leans back against the wall again. If she's drunk, it feels less ~~scary~~ annoying to talk to her as a stranger. A lot less.]

Hmm. That rule is new to me. What about "hammered"? Where's that fall on the spectrum?

[The power of booze!]

Hmm, pretty good q. I'd say it's middlin'. Like, versatile. Hammered can go both ways, either ladylike or not. It's a step under trashed, but still way above sloshed.

[He could ask about "wasted," "plastered" and so many other synonyms you could find in a thesaurus, but talking to this sloshed woman is making him wanna get sloshed himself. He chuckles in response to her and suddenly knocks back the rest of his drink.

When he's done, he grins at her.] Well, uh... wanna show me where the good stuff is, then? If good booze is that rare here, I gotta get some fun outt've it, huh?

Hmmm, [Lup draws out with a grin, pushing herself off of the wall onto slightly unsteady feet. Lucky for her, those natural elven graces kick in or she'd be flat on her face by now.]

That means I'll have to share it, which like, I'm not a huge fan of. But what the hay. C'mon, little man. Follow me to the promised land.

[Aw yeah, gonna get drunk with an elf lady. Sometimes, Hadriel is pretty okay. This conversation is going pretty okay too. He follows her along and takes a deep breath and long sigh.]

It's okay, I think there's plenty. And hey, let's not lie to ourselves... I won't be devastated if everyone else misses out. Ya know? [he shrugs and finishes what's left in his glass as they walk.]

[It's rare, sure, but sometimes this place doesn't completely suck. Tonight just happens to be one of those nights. And knowing the shitty gods in charge? They'll all wake up with the worst hangovers of their life because of it.

The elf's grin curls at that, before she's slipping close to give his shoulder a playful nudge with one of hers, the action only making her wobble for a second before she's walking right back normally at his side.]

I'll drink to that. You an' me hogging what's left.
