You wake up on the 14th, and something is different. Maybe it's something small - you can't smell anything, or your hearing on one side seems to be on the fritz. Or it could be something large and impossible to miss - you've gone completely blind, or you seem to be missing a leg. You've lost something, and no matter what you do, you can't seem to fix it.
Will you ever get it back? Probably, but it's impossible to be sure. And even if you're thoroughly convinced that this is temporary, that still means you have to figure out how to live like this for the next week. Even small things can be huge difficulties. Your sense of taste doesn't seem that important, until you accidentally eat something that'll make you sick. And sure, maybe you can figure out how to live without one hand, but what about when you wake up three days from now and you've also lost your magic?
Do your best to keep yourself calm, but remember: it can always get worse.► This log covers May 14th-May 20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If your lost sense turns out to have been essential to your survival, please let us know here.

But a more reasonable part of him realises that if Akechi wanted to take advantage of his state to attack, he'd have done so already. Unless maybe he's the type that likes to gloat first...
Trying not to let that tension get the better of him, he tightens his grip on the cane and frowns.]
The so-called "gods" happened to me, I can only assume. [He's bitter -- he's been here long enough for this to be only the latest in a long line of the gods' interferences.] I imagine you want to mock me, but I strongly suggest you keep such remarks to yourself.

But, on the other hand, he can't really blame Yusuke, or any of the Thieves, for that matter. He only ever did them more harm than good--and whatever good that was, they don't seem to remember any of it right now. ]
I have no reason to mock you. [ He finally replies, and though his tone is dry, it doesn't hold the overall superiority that one might expect from someone who has any intention to gloat. ] I am hardly pleased with being vulnerable to these gods and their whims, myself. I have been a puppet for too long as it is.
[ A throwaway mention to his life back home? Yes, definitely. ]
Regardless, you should not be out by yourself so soon after losing your sight. Does Akira know about this?
no subject
Yes... Akira knows, but I didn't want to be an undue burden to him, so I tried to teach myself to adjust as quickly as I could. [He sighs.] I suppose I pushed myself too far...
[...Metaphorically and literally, considering he wound up this far across the city on his own.]

[ And he's trying really hard not to let his judgement show in his voice, but the truth is that he think that was... pretty stupid of Yusuke. His stint with the Phantom Thieves may have been brief, but this guy had struck him as being a little more sensible than this-- definitely more so than Ryuji, for instance. ]
You will be more of a burden on him as soon as he realizes you're gone under these circumstances. He'll certainly be concerned for your safety.
[ A sigh. This is mildly inconveniencing, but: ]
Do you want me to call him?
no subject
Please don't worry him any further. This is my fault, so I can't expect him to come running, when I was trying to avoid that very thing from happening in the first place...
[He pauses, and it's taking a lot of swallowing his pride and quashing his distrust. But--]
...Could I-- ask for your help, instead? [Akechi would be well within his rights to refuse, and Yusuke almost expects it, considering how cold he's been towards him thus far, but... Perhaps he'll agree.]
no subject
What exactly do you need my help with?
[ If it's true that it's not too late for him, if he really wants to try and make up for some of the damage he's caused and maybe a spot among their ranks, then he supposes he should start by trying to earn their trust first. And what better way than helping a teammate in need?
... or at least that's what he's been reasoning with, though deep down, it still sounds like just one more lie he's been telling himself. ]
i thought i tagged this, rip
[Said in a tone that suggests he'd prefer a straight answer either way. If nothing else, it might a useful indicator of figuring out where Akechi stands with him... And the sooner he gets an answer, the sooner he can try to find someone else he can look to for help, supposing Akechi refuses.]
