Event Log: The Beach Episode

Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.

The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.

And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...

[He hasn't spoken to her in awhile for sure, although he's kept an eye on her network posts and the like; he's been concerned about her, but without knowing her well he hasn't felt it appropriate to contact her directly and her posts tended to be a times when he was otherwise preoccupied.

So it's nice to have a chance to talk to her more directly, and he offers her a faint smile.]

I'm doing well. Noticing I need a haircut.

[He adds the last comment as a joke, hoping to keep the tone light for now; his soaked hair is laying straight instead of curly and it's more obvious how long it's gotten.]

Do you live on this island, or did you get stuck here during the move? Your shop's here, right?

[he's right to be concerned about her. there's a lot to be concerned about. not that she's going to say anything about it.

she smiles back brilliantly]

I'm glad to hear it. [she eyes his hair. it's not long by Westerosi standards] Is there a problem with it? Perhaps I could help.

My Shop is here, yes. I'd gotten an early start on my morning and was trapped here by the move.

Have you found somewhere to stay?

[Maybe she's sleeping in her shop? But he's concerned about the people who were stranded on other islands.

As for the question he shakes his head a little, giving her a small smile.]

I appreciate it, but I'll handle it later. It's kind of hard to deal with.

[Curly hair is a challenge sometimes.]

I've been sleeping in my shop. I suppose I could temporarily claim one of the empty apartments, but it wouldn't be the same as being home.

[besides, the Sewing Shop is warded to keep the demon out. an empty apartment wouldn't be]

All right. If you're sure?

[she seems to leave well enough alone for a moment, but can't help but ask]
