The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.
The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.
And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...► This log covers May 27th-June 10th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!

Sonya Blade | North Island
In truth, the only reason Sonya voted for the island was because, as far as she could tell, it was the lesser of the tree evils. The snowy world might've been secure, but she wouldn't trust the gods to provide adequate clothing as well as food for their survival; the jungle may've provided means of finding food and shelter, but structurally, they all had enough to deal with besides flooding and weak shelters. The islands might be rough without boats, but she felt safer in the stone structures than she would in the snow or wood.
She was just glad there was an empty room in Spire 3 she could camp out in. She'd share it of course, but she would still take advantage since her own 'home' was on another island.
Along with guard duty (what she could manage), she spent most of her time constructing and watching traps. So far, they've kept a good supply of food rationed, but she agreed with Curufin that for the moment, it was better to be prepared. The latest trap she'd set had managed to catch a large..what she could almost call a hybrid between a reptile and fish, if that was even possible.
That didn't stop her from dispatching and quickly skinning it for its meat.
June 7th; guards HQ/training ground: closed to Margery Tyrell
With Margery on the same island as her, and the training ground along with them, Sonya saw no reason why they couldn't continue their lessons, if for no other reason then to form a kind of stability within this realm. Since April and having them several times a week, she'd been able to move from simple punches and kicks, to body throws and grappling, to free one's self as well as engage. That Margery was a quick study also helped move things along.
The coast line ensured the weather was cooler than was in their last setting, so starting so early in the morning wasn't a necessity-yet she kept at it just for habit. With so much going on, unless there was an emergency, they kept at the same schedule.
Once Margery arrived, they went through the usual warm ups of a few easy punches and kicks, just to warm up the muscles and get the heart beating.
June 7th
the cooler weather gives her pause. she'd gotten used to the heat of the desert and both King's Landing and Highgarden had been warm.
she's getting more confident in what she's doing. she's hopeful that this will make her less of a target for creatures like the demon]
Re: June 7th
For today though, I think we could move onto actual sparing. [She moved towards the mat, waiting for her to stand opposite. She taught her the basics enough that she should be able to spare; and what she didn't know would be better learned on her feet.]
Re: June 7th
All right. [she moves onto the mat to stand opposite to Sonya and gets into a fighting stance]
Re: June 7th
[Seeing her ready, she swung in for a high attack from the side, her foot braced to carry in over to swing across her feet.]
Re: June 7th (please forgive me, I'm unused to describing fight scenes)
switching to prose okay
Only while her attention was focused on high, Sonya moved to aim a low kick just below the knee. She meant to sweep her off her feet, not break or disjoint a knee cap.

She smiles. She's always liked competing against other people and what is this but another competitions?

She blocks the attack and returns it with one of her own, twisting to aim a similar attack at her shoulder (the highest point of the body allowed in sparing. "And never make a move obvious-bluff an attack or block, always try to think several steps a head."
In the time they spared, Margery would notice that she never attacked at once. Soon as one attack landed or blocked, she immediately followed up with another.

She blocks the attack coming at her shoulder and fakes a blow to Sonya's side while moving to sweep her feet out from under her.
Margaery has noticed and is trying to respond in kind. She's still relatively new at this, but she's always been clever and a quick study.

Not that Margery wasn't improving. Sonya's eye caught her the way she moved and tried to jump out of the way of her feet, but she's off by a split second and stumbles. Not to waste movement, she grabs the woman's arm and flips the two of them over, landing in a way to trap her in an arm lock.
"See if you could free yourself."

Her arm pulled behind her back, Sonya shifted her position and twisted in the other direction, pulling herself free. This time though, she jumped and moved completely out of the way and from her grasp.
To look at them both, she judged it was time for a quick break. "You're getting better-say we take five."

She's a bit surprised when Sonya jumps back, but waits for the other woman to have her say.
"Thank you. I practice what I can on my own every day. Although, I suppose a break would be fine."
