Event Log: The Beach Episode

Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.

The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.

And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...

( At least she's on the island with her home. It may be strange - the very idea of an entire city being transported across planets with such ease is hard for Serah to wrap her mind around when she thinks of the years of work they put into creating villages on Pulse - but it could be worse. She tries to remember that. She's fortunate. She's not alone on this island, either - there's Rita and Noctis and other people she might not know yet but could, eventually.

And there's the hot springs. Blissful, hot water letting all the tension from shifts at the watchtower seep out of her body. It's easy to let herself forget for a while, to close her eyes and inhale the steam curling around her.

Until a familiar voice breaks that. )

Noct?

( The drowsiness brought on by the heat and her work quickly dissipates with a shake of her head and Serah smiles, expression brightening when she finds him through the steam. )

You wanted a break too, huh?

[nascere]

Definitely.

[ But he stays a good distance away, unable to help a flush rising on his cheeks. Hot springs means water means possibly naked friend, and he's not about to be a pervert and stare, which is why he keeps his gaze fixated firmly somewhere above her head.

He's a prince, not a creep, okay. ]

Um -- sorry. Should I go? I can come back later.

[odinbolt]

( Well... there is that. But Noctis keeps his eyes lifted and she's sunk well under the water. All the steam is certainly doing its bit to keep her obscured. So, with careful movements, Serah shifts back in the spring a little, shaking her head. )

It's okay. You can come in.

( They can figure out getting out of the springs later. )

[nascere]

[ He can? Really?

Noctis is uncertain for a moment, because he honestly really would be okay leaving if she asks. But then she tells him that it's fine, and so he tentatively undresses, putting his clothes neatly and gets in on the farthest side of the pool.

So... you know, decency. ]

Okay.

[odinbolt]

( She averts her eyes as he gets undressed, concentrating on just how fascinating some of the rock structures are until she hears the okay. )

I don't remember the last time I was at a hot spring...

( Back when Cocoon was still governed by Fal'Cie, by the Sanctum, probably. )

[nascere]

[ that's mighty decent of you, serah. noctis is splashing around gently, exhaling a long, relieved sigh at how comfortable the hot springs are, and oh man he could fall asleep in it... and then probably drown and die. ]

Me either.

[ He sighs, and it's one of profound contentment. The whole Serah-being-naked thing doesn't even bother him much anymore. ]

Can't believe I didn't come in here sooner.

[odinbolt]

( She is a good (and engaged, despite all the time they've spent pulled apart from one another) person, Noct, jeez. )

Right? ( There's been a time or two - or three, okay - where she could have used the break. )

Maybe I should bring Rita here sometime.

( Bold of you to assume she hasn't already been here, Serah. )
