Event Log: The Beach Episode

Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.

The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.

And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...

You know what? It would serve him right if he did show up here. He'd get to lose his shit over the fact that everyone knows I'm a Grim Reaper and then get the news that I'm not going back.

You're not going home? [The two of them had never really discussed this before. Jo's interested.]

Where will you go?

Nope. My family. . . it was kind of falling apart. I dunno if I want to stick around for the gory details. And my little sister was having a hard time letting me go. Maybe it would be easier on her if I let go first. [George has barely accepted any of this herself and this is the first time she's actually said out loud that she doesn't want to go home]

I have no idea. I figure I've got time to settle on a place.

[knifecollecting]

[...Oh. Jo feels bad for dragging that up, but she's curious and she wanted to know.]

The decision is the hardest part.

[toiletseat_girl]

[it's hard on her. she doesn't have any solid plans on what to do or where to do it, she just knows she doesn't want to go back]

Yeah. Yeah, it is.

What about you?

[knifecollecting]

[Jo looks a little shocked at the question. She hadn't really thought about it. After all, Heaven was where she was supposed to be. Right?]

I don't know.

[toiletseat_girl]

[yeah, but if she were in Heaven, she wouldn't get to hang out with George anymore. therefore, she is anti-Heaven]

Wherever I end up, you should come with. I'd--well, I'd miss you.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo gives her a sideways look and then laughs quietly.]

I'd miss you too. We'll see.

[toiletseat_girl]

[she grins at Jo. she likes the idea of the them sticking together even in another world]

Right, right, we'll see. See that I am a genius with totally the right plan.

[knifecollecting]

I feel pretty confident that might not happen since you don't have a plan right now.

[She's laughing as she says it, obviously not too serious.]

[she's also laughing]

I have an idea for a plan. The actual plan stuff comes later.

[knifecollecting]

An idea barely counts. You need a full-fledged idea.

[toiletseat_girl]

Fine. What counts as a full-fledged idea?

[knifecollecting]

An idea with at least four steps.

[toiletseat_girl]

Okay. Step one, I find us a new world. Step two, we go there. Step three, I go to med school and you go to school for--oh hey, I bet all that stuff you know about demons and stuff would let you ace studies about folklore and step four, we live happily ever after.

Better?

[knifecollecting]

I knew I should've said that the first two steps couldn't be just making a decision and going. [She shakes her head.]

College isn't for me.

[toiletseat_girl]

Hey, making the right choice is gonna be a challenge. All those worlds to choose from.

So you get a job while I beat my head up against medical textbooks.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo laughs again.]

Gainful employment while you do nothing, huh?

[toiletseat_girl]

Hey, I won't be doing nothing. I'll be racking up student debt while I learn all the ins and outs of the human body and how to fix 'em.

[knifecollecting]

Wait, you have to pay for college? [Jo laughs.]

You aren't fixing them already?

[toiletseat_girl]

Yeah, that's usually the way it works. Unfortunately. [she also laughs]

I am, but it's not like I've done surgery or anything.

[knifecollecting]

[Jo actually ended up with a scholarship for her year of college. She got lucky.]

You want to do surgery?

[toiletseat_girl]

[George got a discount rate since her father was a tenured professor at UDub]

Eventually, yeah. Though, I think being an ER doctor would be better. More of what I'm used to.

[knifecollecting]

[That sounds great. Maybe.]

Chaos, you mean.

[toiletseat_girl]

[she raises her eyebrows at her]

Exactly. If I could handle the Null invasion bullshit, your average ER should be a piece of cake.
