Event Log: The Beach Episode

Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.

The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.

And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...

[But now back to the question at hand.]

Well, once it's sculpted I gotta do some magic biz. This isn't ideal board wood, but it's way easier to change wood to other wood than it woulda been to make it out of nothin'. Plus I get way more control over the design like this. Then I gotta find some way to seal it, get that good shine on there. And then I can give it some tests. So uh, whenever these guys are done I can get movin'.

I'll try to be patient. But seriously, I want to hear first about it first when you take the board out. It's nice to have water again, isn't it? I didn't realize how much I missed it before.

[He winks.]

Check back later this week, babe. You can't keep me outta that osh. You know I invented surfing, right? Like, literally. Not havin' an ocean has actually been stabbing me. Like, the desert has it's perks, but fuck it.

Bullshit.

[She gives him a skeptical look. Skepticism for days.]

We have surfing in our world. We don't have you in our world, sad as that is to say.

[All worlds are slightly less colorful without the twins.]

[He just laughs.]

Sorry to say is right, babe. But I totally did. Spent a year on an island beach paradise and I was the first person to surf there ever. Invented it in at least 20 worlds. Chhhheckmate.

Buuuuut that wasn't our world. I'm, like, ninety-nine percent sure. [Elena grins.] Looks like you might have competition. Another version of the inventor of surfing. Maybe they even did it better.

You're really gonna stand there and say someone could do something better than me. Taako. As if.

[He gives her a little wink.]

Besides, no one else has been doin' it here. Sooo let's go ahead and make that 21 worlds, natch.

[She winks back.]

Then you've got something to prove, buddy. I better see you hanging ten in short order.

You mean somehow I haven't impressed you already? Jeez. You're hard to please.
