Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.

The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.

And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...

[Don't worry Leo, he's dude shaped, gender is on the whole fake. He doesn't seem put off by anything though, just a little snicker at his words.]

Well, good fuckin' luck, now that you're surrounded by it. Liches up top wanna try to throw a curveball, I'm gonna live it up harder, like. Oh noooo, give me a beach vaycay, don't toss a mai tai on there, I'll die.

[He's still grinning, like he doesn't have a care in the world.]

I feel like I only understood half of what you just said.

[He's equal parts confused and amused by it. Everyone here seems to be so damn serious all the time, and Leo will admit he falls into this category quite a bit, so someone a little more light-heared was refreshing.]

[He laughs, that line finally being the thing that breaks the grin.]

Well you better catch up then, buddy boy. A guy like me waits for no man, no matter how thick his arms look.

[Was that a flirt?? Maybe a little. Don't worry, he's got a boyfriend, but like. Nice face, my guy.]

What I'm sayin' here is live it up. Don't wait for them to give you a good time, make it a good fuckin' time despite their bullshit.

Did you--? [He pauses, clearly confused. Taako's flirtation gets a slow blink and head tilt out of him. Mentioning anything about his looks tends to get him completely off-kilter, which is what happens when one goes twelve years without any sort of romance in their life whatsoever.

So instead of responding, he just sort of skips over to the next thing Taako says.]

That is surprisingly good advice.

[After all, wasn't self-care the first step to happiness? At least he was sure he'd read that somewhere.]

[He'll just continue to grin, and then give him a little wink before breezing right by.]

The best revenge is to live well. Trrrrrust me, I have all sorts of great gems of advice like this. Taako originals.

[None of them are originals. He's taking them all from other people. But also, no one can stop him.]

If they can't get to you, they're just left to squirm with it.

I would take down notes if I had a pen.

[The words are said dryly, but Leo actually is paying attention. For so long, he's done nothing but what he thought he was supposed to do. Very rarely did he ever do what he wanted to. Now that he was here in Hadriel, maybe it was time to start giving into his vices a little bit more.]

And who is this ubiquitous 'they' that you keep mentioning?

[Well, if he came for encouragement on that, he came to the right guy.]

Y'know, the liches in charge. Assholes who run the joint and use our feelings to do things. You don't sweat it, they get nothin'. It can, uh, get complicated, but if they're gonna use me as an elven battery I'm getting every piece outta their deal.

So you're the type all about sticking it to the man?

[The idea gets an amused smile out of Leo's face. One other word catches his attention.]

You're an elf?

[He's also met Curufin here, though these two couldn't be more different unless someone painted one red and the other green.]

Oh yeah, def. You know, real off the grid type.

[He says it so plainly it sounds like it could be a joke, and whizzes on to the next thing.]

And yeah, isn't that obvious? Don't exactly make it subtle, my man.

[To his credit, they are very, very different types of elves, and Taako was never much for being in on his race's culture.]

Well, how am I supposed to know that?

[He spreads his hands apart and shrugs broadly. He knows next to nothing about elves. After all, Sunai monsters don't really look anything like each other. Only their shared blood made them family.]

I've only met one other elf here.

[He snorts, giving him a look like he's prepared to give him the ribbing of the century and just debating if he's actually gonna do it.]

Ears, my man. Can't miss 'em. And if you saw another elf, it's only important if she looked like me. Rest of 'em aren't as good by a long shot.

[Curufin isn't bad. But like, Lup's better.]

Ears. Noted. I assume the one that looks like you is a sister or something of the sort?

[Leo had Seth and Margo here, who were as close to family as it got without being blood-related, but his Sunai siblings were back home. Not that he would be entirely thrilled to see him again. Asshole had killed him after all.]

[He grins.]

Good, good, fast pickup. Twin, bubbleh. She's the best other anyone in this place, no contest. And therefore the other best elf. You followin'?
