Event Log: The Beach Episode

Who: Everyone!
What: The event log for the transition to our new planet!
Where: The city, which has now been fragmented onto four separate islands.
When: May 27th-June 10th
Warnings: Surf's up! If by 'surf', you mean separation from your friends, weird sea creatures, and cold rainfall.

The sun and the sand and a drink in your hand- well, it all sounded pretty nice when you voted for the island planet, but ultimately what you're getting is a bit less glamorous.

The transition takes place instantaneously, with very little noteworthy shakeup, though those of you who are particularly in-tune with the supernatural may feel a bit dizzied or nauseated by the sudden movement. And that's exactly what it is: for those of you who are outside, the change is fairly noticeable, as in the span of a single blink, what used to be miles of desert is now rocky ocean. The city is simply in one place one moment, and then somewhere entirely new a second later.

And that somewhere new is exciting! The islands have plenty of landscape to explore and weather conditions to adjust to, fish to catch, and- wait, how do you get to the other islands? What if your friends or your home or the bar is on these other islands? Enjoy having to figure out who is where and how you're going to get by with only a small fraction of the city to work off of- hopefully those boats will come sooner rather than later...

Without my duties to my country, certainly. But I'd gladly take back the burdens of my family. Every month, I go to the Colosseum, hoping to find my grandmother or Loras there and every month, I'm disappointed.

It was easier for me than it was for most.

Family is like that.

[ he agrees quietly ]

I, too, wait for the day I hear my brother's Song again, but I fear it also, for they were fell indeed, by the time they died, and I would not wish that on folk here!

But I hope you will be fortunate in your reunions.

Perhaps--perhaps some time here would ease their minds? Even with the so-called gods up to their mischief. They'd be among family and friends and those who would care about them and help them recover.

I hope so, too. I hate the thought of my grandmother left alone with nothing but vengeance on her mind. And of Loras, left to die for the "crime" of loving men.

Without the Oath to tangle them... I hope so. Curvo... Curufin seems to have settled well. I have not... seen him so well in himself in decades. It would be my hope that all of them might heal so, but... I don't know.

[ He nods ]

Your family has a heavy burden to bear! I hope they will come here, Margaery.

Unfortunately, there's no way of knowing unless they arrive. But I would do my part to make them feel welcome and accepted.

[she smiles hopefully]

As do I. Having my grandmother and Loras here would be a great burden off of my mind. And we could all start a new life together in another world.

After we check if they are sane.

[ Maglor says firmly and smiles at her wish ]

It would be good if you could. [ He agrees ] Your world sounds truly terrible, and I say that as one who has seen very much.

Well, yes, of course after.

Right now, it is. I have hope that things will improve once Daenerys takes back the throne. But House Tyrell has fallen. It deserves its chance to grow strong somewhere else.

Will you bring them to Matt's world, if it come to that?

Yes, of course! Loras would have the ability to love freely there and grandmother. [she laughs] Grandmother would likely take up terrorizing Matt into ensuring she gets great-grandchildren.

[ He laughs ]

Ah, the province of grandmothers everywhere! I think they just like inflicting children on everyone else, since they have the privilege of being allowed to spoil them and then give them back. Grandfather was like that with us, also.

Oh, grandmother wouldn't spoil them--[on second though]--yes, she would spoil them. But she would also see to their educations. Whatever skills would be most useful, she'd ensure that they learn them.

[ He laughs ]

Grandfather was busy with the business of ruling, so most of our teachings came from father, mother, or our tutors, later, although he did make time for us. But so it goes, I think!

Grandmother would have nothing but time. She'd happen into wealth somehow and devote herself again to rearing up another generation of Tyrells. Even though Tyrell wouldn't be their family name.

[ Maglor chuckles ]

Your grandmother should have been a Ruling Queen! She sounds like she would have been a great one indeed

She would have been wonderful at it. She was the true power in House Tyrell, despite father's titles. The only thing father did entirely on his own was the alliance with Renly and then he was largely swayed by Loras.

It sounds like she was! She would have liked Galadriel I think. Or considered her competition!

[Margaery laughs] Liked. Definitely liked. Grandmother liked strong, powerful, intelligent women. She said it was because she met so few of them.

She would have liked Galadriel then. [ Maglor smiles back ]

Sometimes she was more a force of nature than an elleth!

I only wish the two could meet. I suppose the only way would be if they were both to come here?

It sounds like I would like her as well.

I would expect so. [ Maglor agrees ]

Especially as when I left she was returning to Elvenhome.

Oh! She was leaving you? I'm so sorry to hear that.

She is returning home, across the Sea, to where I cannot go.

[ He says wistfully and then adds wryly ]

Although to be honest, she and I are long estranged.
