Who: Evangeline and you!
What: Exploring the island
Where: West Island
When: June 8th
Warnings: No warnings as of yet, though possible language
The islands moving hadn't exactly been the highlight of Evangeline's day. Then again, she'd gotten so used to how Hadriel had been that she hadn't expected what had happened. It was something that was starting to bug her a bit. Luckily, she was pretty good at protecting herself. Or, well, she'd of been good with that if it hadn't been raining. If she hadn't of been nearly drenched to the bone and chilled. It reminded her of back home. Reminded her of things that she didn't want to think about.
For the moment, she's walking around the island and taking in everything around her. If she happens to run into new people then that was fine. Hopefully, there wasn't anything out there that she needed to defend herself against. It wouldn't be pretty if that was the case.

"Oh," he says, politely, "I'm sorry. My head's in the clouds."
no subject
"Why's your head in the clouds?" She asks watching the stranger before her.
no subject
He figures that's a pretty common complaint, and reasonable excuse.
"Trying to figure out what the hell's going on, and how I feel about it. I didn't expect anyone else to be out in this weather."
no subject
"It can be a bit daunting at first."
She's been in Hadriel for a while and she was still getting used to it, almost every single day.
"When did you get here?"
no subject
He says, with a shake of his head, wiping rainwater off his face.
"I'm still figuring out the food thing, honestly. I'm getting pretty over picking stuff out of the orchard and scrounging tuna cans."
no subject
"So you've not been here that long."
She's been in Hadriel for a while but she's not exactly sure for how long. She runs fingers through her hair and frowns slightly at his admission of the food.
"You've not found any around? Maybe now that the place has separated it'll be a bit easier."
If it wasn't raining buckets of rain she'd be able to supply them with fruits, at least.
no subject
He agrees, and pushes his hair back out of his face.
"I mean, there's a bar, obviously, but that's not really going to get anyone far."
He's been actively trying to see less of it.
no subject
She's quiet for a moment because, honestly, she's not been there that long either. However, herself and her husband have walked around the place for a while.
"Have you tried the stores that are around? Or the orchard? I'm not sure where they're at now that the place has been split up the way it is. They should, hopefully, still be around though."
Evie hopes that they're still around, at any rate.
no subject
He admits, with a rueful laugh.
"I guess I must be looking in the wrong stores, probably." Glancing back towards civilization. "If they're even on this island?"
no subject
She's, honestly, curious on where he found such things. That was something she'd give anything for back home. Then again, she'd give just about anything back home when it came to food. It's one of the reasons why she missed her home in her world. Missed her husband's home with all the hot food and sun room. She misses the sun room the most, really.
"We could always try to look around the island a bit? See what we can find. If you want, that is."
no subject
He admits, and smiles;
"I'd super appreciate it. I need to get out of this rain, first of all, the last thing you need here is to be not hospitalized for some kind of respiratory infection."
no subject
That smile, despite the rain coming down on them, has her giving a bit of a smile.
"Lets get out of the rain then. As for a respiratory infection, my husband would probably have a fit if I got sick."
Not that she really thinks Aric would get too upset.
no subject
Although;
"Not that it makes a difference, in terms of my possessions it's just like, one can of tuna." As they walk; "So is your husband here with you?"
no subject
"Which tower? There's a few isn't there?"
Actually, she's not entirely sure how many towers Hadriel had. Despite the fact that she'd gone exploring around the place she couldn't remember.
"Well, maybe we can fix that. Find a place to get you a few more possessions." She runs fingers through her hair and smiles a little," Yes, Aric's here. He's probably back home or off exploring himself."
Or possibly getting away from her.
no subject
Nothing is going to kill her aside from himself. So when he finally sees her. "What are you doing outside right now?"
no subject
Her husband wasn't the only one that wasn't entirely happy with their new location. Though, honestly, she's sure that he's out there exploring the land. She doesn't see him not findingout what he needed to know of it. It's something that continues to run through her head.
"I couldn't stay cooped up inside, Aric. Did you expect me to?"
no subject
"This place is hardly safe, especially right now," he frowns. He's still not completely familiar and so any other dangers that might be hidden are still unknown.
no subject
That gets a bit of a chuckle out of Evangeline before she shakes her head, soft smile on her lips. Even though they're from two different parts of their world, it amazes her that he even cares. Even if a part of her knows, deep down, that he still kind of hates her. That part was the hardest.
"I'm not going to stay cooped up inside, Aric. I will take whatever lessons I need to in order to protect myself, but I'm not staying cooped inside," she tells him. "So, if you're worried about it not being safe then teach me how to protect myself."
no subject
Clearly, she just needed to avoid water until the end of time.
no subject
"I did not say anything about teaching me out of my weakness to water," She tells him crossing her arms over her chest. She knows that no one can get rid of her weakness and she hates it sometimes. Though she's not going to avoid water, wasn't going to happen.
"But you can show me how to defend myself."
no subject
His are much the same here, his touch of death still nullified from his time in Eudio, though. “what use have you for a sword?”
no subject
"I understand my powers just fine."
She knew very well how her powers worked and what all of this water would do. "Does it matter what use I have for it? If I have something to protect myself other than my powers, why shouldn't I have that? It would allow me to protect myself no matter what came here. Because I tell you now that I won't be cooped up inside of a house until the end of forever."
no subject
“Neither I, not Thanatos would allow harm to come to you and if you must make that difficult then so be it.”
no subject
She crosses her arms despite the fact that she's practically drenched, and cold. Though she's also enjoying, to a point, not being held up inside of a house.
Evie places her hands on either side of his face," Aric, I know that. I know that neither of you would allow any harm to come to me. However, I need to know how to protect myself. You can't be with me 24/7."
no subject
"I could be."
Have you pet Aric? He's stubborn.
no subject
Evangeline doesn't move her hands, for what seems like the longest time, before she finally does and gives him a smile.
"You can't be with me all day and all night, Aric. You'll get tired of me eventually."
He has met his wife, right? She's just as stubborn. She planned to make friends and she's sure he'll have... friends or acquaintances. Something of that nature.
no subject
what a match made in an apocalyptic landscape!
no subject
"Of course, not until you kill me. So that means you should teach me to protect myself. If you don't teach me then I'll find someone who will."
Surely, he doesn't want someone else teaching his wife how to fight. Does he? There's no telling what dangers will come of that and it might hinder his chance to kill her.
no subject
Although, whether he's agreeing out loud or not she's already won the argument.
no subject
The sad thing was, Aric knew her too well. Evangeline was one to protect those around her and not get them hurt or killed. There was only a few people that she'd killed and she hadn't enjoyed it. Not one damn bit.
"Then it's settled then. Now, will it make you happy if we go back inside?" She's willing to compromise, a little. Besides, she wants to take a warm shower and then curl up to relax.
no subject
no subject
Of course his answer to the question would be that. She knows that he wants her inside and dry. Inside where he can keep an eye on her, perhaps even make sure that her abilities still worked. With her husband? There was really no telling.
She does, however, raise a brow when he waits before shaking her head and starting back towards their home. "I'm not going anywhere, Aric."
no subject
no subject
As for those two words, she gives a smile," You'll see, Aric. I'm not like the girl that you used to know. I'm here to stay." Only death would take her from him and surely that would never happen. Right?
no subject
Aric's jaw tightened slightly at her assurances and well, it's not that she'd done anything to give him worry but still -- the past is a weight and he has a lot of past to remember. He's not sure what about her now makes him want to believe in her.
"It's not the first time you've tried to make me believe you are trustworthy, Sieva."
But there's a weariness to it now.
no subject
"I'm not that girl, Aric. Not the one that you knew before," she tells him. "Only way I'm going anywhere is if this place makes me and if it tries, I will fight tooth and nail to stay with you."
no subject
"Why?" he asks. No empress that he's ever met would ever do that why should this one?
no subject
A part of her wants to tell him to walk beside her or in front of her. That she didn't trust him to be behind her the way he was now. However, there was that part of her that did trust him. Had been trusting him for some time now.
"I told you, Aric, that things between us have changed. So, I will fight to stay with you."
no subject
"I am still not sure why I am supposed to believe you, Empress."
