Event Log: Home Sweet Home

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Home Sweet Home event
Where: All over the city
When: June 20th-July 2nd
Warnings: Nothing bad could ever happen now that you're home

It could happen at any moment- any action you do could be cut short by a sudden trancelike state, and so hopefully it happens when you're safe in your surroundings. And of course you're safe... after all, what could happen to you now that you're finally home?

Whether you don't remember Hadriel at all, or you just believe that this entire ordeal is over, you're home for good now, which is something worth celebrating. What happens in your home? Are you treated like royalty or just cast aside and forgotten? How are your friends doing? Your family? Everything is just as it should be and it's easy to get lost in it, even for an unlucky onlooker who may find themselves drawn into your trance and able to interact with you as you mill about your world and your reality.

Snapping out of it is the only way to end this trance, and you've got to eat and sleep at some point, but how can you go back now that you've been teased with what you desire (or maybe even fear) the most?

  [It's a hard question.  Her life's been about what her father wants, then what the FBI and the doctors are after.] 

I don't know.  Freedom.  A loving family.  A home.  I want all the things that make life normal.

I don't think that's asking too much. Not at all.

Too bad you're not the head of the FBI.  Or this hospital.

  [Abigail reaches the wall and begins to climb it.] 

At least we can get a moment of freedom.

[Laura laughs] If I was, lemme tell you, there would be some changes.

[Laura starts climbing behind Abigail]

Yeah. Thank god.

[Abigail laughs too.]

Oh, yeah? What kind of changes? I'd recommend an open door policy. Or at least trees closer to the walls.

For one thing, I'd replace that lousy excuse for a counselor. Lousy old bat. And definitely trees closer to walls. I climbed out of my window and down a tree more times than I can count.

There's a few of them that I'd replace and a couple of the nurses - the ones that never say what's really going on - they can go too.   Dr. Bloom could stay.  Your room here?   My window doesn't even open.

No, back when I was home. I wasn't always here, y'know.

Weren't you scared of getting caught? [To her, parents are much more frightening than hospital staff.]

No. My mom takes stuff to help her sleep at night and my father--wasn't an issue. [now that she knows what her father is, he frightens her and makes her angry. she told him to stay away from her, but he killed her that night]

Oh.  [To Abigail, it sounds as if her parents didn't care.  It should be better than the way Abigail's own father cared too much, but it feel almost as if it's worse.]     Sorry about that.

[her mother cared. Laura knows she did. and her father. . . cared in his own way. when he wasn't BOB, he cared] Sorry? What for?

  [Abigail answers slowly.]  For whatever made your mom have to take stuff to sleep and made your dad a non-issue.

Oh. Mom was always--high strung. She smoked cigarette after cigarette to try and calm down. And my dad. . . fuck, that's complicated.

[am_i_a_monster]

  [Abigail is curious, but knows how painful complicated can be, in the hospital.  She reaches the top of the wall and swings her legs over it.]     Are you okay with jumping from here?

[she's glad Abigail doesn't press for details about her dad]

Yeah, that's fine.

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail jumps down and lands on her feet.]

Freedom.

[She whispers it, just to be safe.]

[outofthefire]

[Laura follows suit and grins]

Yeah. So let's get outta here.

[she whispers back]

[Abigail nods and leads the way into the city.]

Everything feels better out here.

[Laura follows her lead, looking at her surroundings as she does]

Freedom always feels better than being locked up. Even if the cage has gold bars.

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail stops occasionally, listening for any sign they're being followed.] 

Freedom's scary sometimes though.

[while Laura strolls along like she owns the place]

Really? I think it's exhilarating.

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail looks at her with wide eyes.] 

But there are so many dangers.

[she flashes a confident smile]

I'm not afraid. Why are you?

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail gives her a serious look.]

Because I know what can happen to girls like us. And I know what people think of me.
