Event Log: Home Sweet Home

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for the Home Sweet Home event
Where: All over the city
When: June 20th-July 2nd
Warnings: Nothing bad could ever happen now that you're home

It could happen at any moment- any action you do could be cut short by a sudden trancelike state, and so hopefully it happens when you're safe in your surroundings. And of course you're safe... after all, what could happen to you now that you're finally home?

Whether you don't remember Hadriel at all, or you just believe that this entire ordeal is over, you're home for good now, which is something worth celebrating. What happens in your home? Are you treated like royalty or just cast aside and forgotten? How are your friends doing? Your family? Everything is just as it should be and it's easy to get lost in it, even for an unlucky onlooker who may find themselves drawn into your trance and able to interact with you as you mill about your world and your reality.

Snapping out of it is the only way to end this trance, and you've got to eat and sleep at some point, but how can you go back now that you've been teased with what you desire (or maybe even fear) the most?

Not yet. Jack Crawford's gonna keep me locked up in there until he can make a case. I know it. But there is someone on my side. I'm gonna take us to him.

Yeah, but you didn't exactly want your dad to use you as a lure. I bet if you had a choice, you wouldn'ta done it. And I'd like to meet him.

Yeah, I gotta find a way to make people see that I didn't have a choice. I thought Freddie's book would help, but Hannibal says it's a bad idea. That's his name. Hannibal.

I think Hannibal's probably right. You can't trust someone like Freddie, she'd just out for herself. Couldn't you be interviewed by someone like, I don't know. Phil Donahue? Oprah Winfrey? They seem to at least try to be fair to the people they talk to.

Phil Who?  [Abigail has no idea.  That show went off the air around the same time she was born.]  Oprah?   The last interview I can remember her doing is that one with Lance Armstrong.   Not a serial killer, but I think everyone hates him now.

Phil Donahue, he's got a talk show on TV in the afternoons.

Who's Lance Armstrong? But if everyone hates him, maybe skip Oprah.

I never heard of it.  Must not be on Netflix.   We don't have netflix at home, but Marissa does and I watch shows when we hang out sometimes.

[She pauses, remembering that Marissa is dead.] 

I mean, I used to watch stuff with her.

[Good.  A change in topic.]

Lance Armstrong?  You know the bike guy that got caught using drugs?  Hasn't everyone heard of him?

Used to? Why the past tense? You guys not friends anymore?

[she looks baffled]

I haven't heard of 'im. Granted, I don't exactly pay attention to sports stuff.

She's dead. The copycat killed her.

[She doesn't realize she's taking her to the copycat.]

You never had a live strong bracelet? Or knew someone who did? I thought they were everywhere.

Oh. Fuck. I'm sorry.

[does she ever realize?]

Nope. Live strong. . . bracelet? Is that like a friendship bracelet?

[She figures Hannibal out later, when she finds him in her old home.]

No, It's those yellow cancer bracelets. 

[She makes her way to a sidewalk near a busy street.]

Keep an eye out for people filming us with their phones.

Okay, will do. They'd sell those videos to people like Freddie, wouldn't they?

Huh.  Guess they weren't as popular as I thought.

[She shrugs.]

They might. Or they must just put them on youtube to get more hits than what does the fox say.  I don't want footage of us leaving to make it online.  Crawford would use it against me and they'd increase security at the institution.

[she looks confused. youtube? what does the fox say? online? whatever] And the last thing we need is more security.

Not a fan of the fox one either?

[She chuckles.]

Guess I've been there too long to know what's trending now.

I've never been into what's trendy. Back in Twin Peaks, I set the trends.

Oh yeah? I mostly tried to blend in.

What'd you use? Youtube, insta, twitter?

When you should stand out. Like I said, you're a pretty girl. Show off a little.

No, I just went to school wearing a certain something and before you knew it, there was a run on Horne's Department Store.

Right now, I stand out too much.    [She touches her scarf.]   At least when I wear this, it helps me to stay in the background.

Horne's?  I don't know that one.  I was from a bargain bin at Wal-mart and Target family.   We didn't even have a costco membership.

So you've got the whole scarf look going. Get some more scarves. And where's the fun in being in the background?

We don't have either of those places in Twin Peaks, but they don't exactly sound high fashion.

You get to see what everyone else is doing without them noticing you. It's like you're a spy. Or a fly on the wall.

[Or like being her father's lure, but she tries not to let her mind go there.]

They're not..but doesn't everyplace have a walmart?

I guess, but you can let yourself be in the spotlight a little. You wanna get yourself a nice boyfriend or a girlfriend, don't you?

[she laughs] Twin Peaks is so far behind the times, we don't even have a pizza joint.

I don't know. I get someone know, they might start putting nudes of me all over the internet or some damn thing. Besides, I've never had one.

Seriously? We were small, but we had a Pizza hut and a Dominoes. Not that my dad ever let us get pizza.

The solution to that's easy. Don't let 'em take nudie shots of you. And there's no time like the present.

[she shrugs] Twin Peaks was small and backwards and the people who lived there liked it that way.

A straight out no--sexting rule? I think I could do that. The present sucks though. We'll have to go back eventually. No one date-able in there.

My dad would have liked it then. Easier to get away with stuff when people are backwards.
