Event Log: Home Sweet Home

What: The event log for the Home Sweet Home event
Where: All over the city
When: June 20th-July 2nd
Warnings: Nothing bad could ever happen now that you're home

It could happen at any moment- any action you do could be cut short by a sudden trancelike state, and so hopefully it happens when you're safe in your surroundings. And of course you're safe... after all, what could happen to you now that you're finally home?

Whether you don't remember Hadriel at all, or you just believe that this entire ordeal is over, you're home for good now, which is something worth celebrating. What happens in your home? Are you treated like royalty or just cast aside and forgotten? How are your friends doing? Your family? Everything is just as it should be and it's easy to get lost in it, even for an unlucky onlooker who may find themselves drawn into your trance and able to interact with you as you mill about your world and your reality.

Snapping out of it is the only way to end this trance, and you've got to eat and sleep at some point, but how can you go back now that you've been teased with what you desire (or maybe even fear) the most?

[she mulls this over for a moment. she's not sure what a terrorist is, but she likes the idea of Cersei getting the death penalty. which she assumes would be beheading]

Life in prison is far too good for her. The death penalty, though, that's another thing.

Then it's far too lenient for Cersei. She'd escape.

[am_i_a_monster]

I don't which is worse. Dying young or spending a lifetime locked away with the guilt. But I guess that's assuming she feels guilt.

I doubt it. If she did, it'd be all over the news and online. She wouldn't get far. Freddie would make it her story of the day.

Cersei feels no guilt, no shame, no remorse. The only thing she feels is a relentless lust for power.

And then she'd be held up for public riducule?

[am_i_a_monster]

No guilt? That's almost enough to make me feel jealous.

[Abigail nods.] Everyone gets ridiculed.

[roseofthetyrells]

Don't. If you feel no guilt, then you can do whatever you want to whomever you want with no remorse. Remorse is part of what makes us human.

Cersei deserves it.

[am_i_a_monster]

Are we still human if we do what we want but feel remorse?   Maybe being a monster means knowing something is wrong and doing it anyway, to survive.

The FBI must be looking for her.

Perhaps it is, but that would make the vast majority of people monsters. Do you believe that's so?

One would hope so.

[am_i_a_monster]

I think that most people don't have to make the choices I've had to made.  Most people aren't like us.  They have normal lives, with normal families.  They don't have to be monsters.

Graham found my dad and he had no evidence.   My dad never left anything from those girls behind.

Even if you are a monster, it's your father you should blame. Not yourself. You were a child, he was an adult. He should have known better.

[am_i_a_monster]

He was very sick. That's what they tell me. It makes me worry that I might be sick too.

[roseofthetyrells]

That kind of sickness doesn't run in bloodlines.

[but she knows that's not true. they said every time a Targaryen was born, the gods flipped a coin to determine whether they were sane or mad]

[am_i_a_monster]

So you believe in nurture over nature?  Either way, I'll be messed up. 

[She pauses.] 

Do you ever worry about being messed up because of what you've been through?

[roseofthetyrells]

I believe that you are what you make of yourself. You can choose your father's path or you can choose another. It's all up to you.

[she waits]

No. What I am, I wouldn't change.

[am_i_a_monster]

I want to believe that.  [But it's hard, especially in this place.  Almost everyone she encounters tries to tell her who she is and what she should do with the rest of her life.]

And what are you?

[roseofthetyrells]

You should believe that. Believe in yourself. [she wants Abigail to be more confident in herself, but she's not about to tell her what to do with her life. it's hers to live]

A friend. A lover. A sister. A granddaughter. [she gives a graceful shrug] I'm many things all at once. Not all of them are good, it's true, but I wouldn't change.

[am_i_a_monster]

It'll try. [Agreeing to that sounds small, but it's a big accomplishment for Abigail at this point in her life.] 

Those are all what you are to other people.   I do that sometimes too.  I'm my father's daughter, or was.  I'm not sure what I am outside of that.  I'd change it though.  If I could.

[roseofthetyrells]

I'm glad. [she reaches over to squeeze one of Abigail's hands]

But you can. Here, amongst your friends, you can be whomever you choose.

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail squeezes Margaery's hand back, then looks around at the hospital walls and raises an eyebrows.]     No, not here.  You're the only one being a true friend. 

[Others acted friendly, but that all wanted something from her.]   

Maybe some day, if we ever leave here, we can make choices.     [Just saying that out loud is progress.]

Here is one thing. Outside these walls is quite another.

[she's familiar with that type of toadying behavior]

We both can and will get out of here.

[am_i_a_monster]

I do have a sort of friend out there.

[She glances to the door.]

I can take you out there to meet him, but you can't tell anyone in here about it.

You can trust me. I'll not say a word.

[am_i_a_monster]

  [Abigail nods.]   

We'll have to sneak out.  Are you good at climbing over walls?

[roseofthetyrells]

I don't know, but I'll certainly try.

[am_i_a_monster]

We'll go through the garden and try the lowest wall. Think of it like climbing a tree.

Well, I've never climbed a tree before, but I'll certainly try.
