Event Log: Home Sweet Home

What: The event log for the Home Sweet Home event
Where: All over the city
When: June 20th-July 2nd
Warnings: Nothing bad could ever happen now that you're home

It could happen at any moment- any action you do could be cut short by a sudden trancelike state, and so hopefully it happens when you're safe in your surroundings. And of course you're safe... after all, what could happen to you now that you're finally home?

Whether you don't remember Hadriel at all, or you just believe that this entire ordeal is over, you're home for good now, which is something worth celebrating. What happens in your home? Are you treated like royalty or just cast aside and forgotten? How are your friends doing? Your family? Everything is just as it should be and it's easy to get lost in it, even for an unlucky onlooker who may find themselves drawn into your trance and able to interact with you as you mill about your world and your reality.

Snapping out of it is the only way to end this trance, and you've got to eat and sleep at some point, but how can you go back now that you've been teased with what you desire (or maybe even fear) the most?

I could never do it. I'd go nuts. But I was never into school to begin with.

[she was into boys and the attention they'd give her because she was pretty and she was easy]

Sure. Some people get their dream home, their ideal spouse, and their 2.5 kids with a Golden Retriever.

I like some of it. Learning new stuff and the change from being home. But I'm not a nerd or anything.

My friend Marissa's family has most of that. And it looks nice from the outside. But her mom can be a real pain. Not such a dream.

[myrealname]

[in a lofty tone of voice] That's good, 'cause I don't associate with nerds. [she winks]

Moms in general can be a pain. I think it's a rule.

[am_i_a_monster]

Not my mom.   She's really nice and fun.  We're going to go mountain climbing together.   She could be great if..

[If it wasn't for her dad.]

She is great.

[she notices that if, but chooses not to press]

You're lucky. Mine's a drunk who doesn't bother to get off the couch or stop watching TV.

[That sounds awful. At least her father loves her, in his own way.]

I can't imagine what it's like to have a parent like that. I'm sorry.

[she shrugs]

You get used to it. Vodka and reality TV make her happy, so who am I to fuck with that?

[am_i_a_monster]

Her daughter.

[Abigail shakes her head.]

You should be her whole world. Some parents are obsessed with their children.

[looks skeptical]

Well, I'm pretty sure I was an accident and her parents were Catholic, so. [she shrugs]

[am_i_a_monster]

So she didn't have a choice and she took it out on you.

[myrealname]

I guess you could say that.

[am_i_a_monster]

I kind of get that. I mean, I know what it's like not to have choices. But it sucks for you.

[myrealname]

Yeah? What choices don't you have?

[am_i_a_monster]

No choices at all.

[She's says the words without thinking and then starts to panic, looking to her father with wide eyes and then back to the girl next to her. She's been saying too much to her.]

I mean, I don't, I do, Just teenage angst, you know?

[myrealname]

--what? Seriously?

[yeah, she notices the panic along with the girl's look back to the creeper. she shifts a little in her seat, getting the idea that there's more to this meeting than what it seems on the surface]

Uh-huh. Sure. [she says nothing further for a long pause, then says] So, what's up with the creeper in the back?

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail's flustered now.   She's not supposed to go so far from her dad's plans.  Or worse, let anyone know they're connected.  She's let the conversation get too personal, let herself see this girl as a person and not a substitute for her.  It's all going wrong.]   

I..I don't know.  Just some weird guy, I guess.

[myrealname]

[Jane can tell that she's flustered and should feel kind of bad about it. after all, it's not like she hasn't lied about anything]

Uh-huh. But you keep looking at him.

[am_i_a_monster]

[Abigail shrugs, trying to pay it off like it isn't a big deal.]

He's creepy, like you said. I shouldn't look at him. Ignore him.

[myrealname]

[skeptical look continues to be skeptical]

Okay. But just so you know, if this is a setup for a con job, all I've got is fourteen bucks and some change. And a maxed-out credit card.

[am_i_a_monster]

He's just a creep.

[Abigail fights the urge to look back at her father again. It's almost funny that Alice thinks this is about money.]

If he comes over here, I think we should split up.

[myrealname]

Of course he is. [she sounds skeptical]

Right. Because you two don't know each other at all. [and now she sounds sarcastic]

[am_i_a_monster]

Because it makes sense. He can't come after two of us.

[And she knows her father's attention will always be on her.]

[myrealname]

And you're sure he'll follow you 'cause you two know each other.

[she says matter of factly]

[am_i_a_monster]

Oh, come on. I don't look like someone that'd know a creepy guy. I'm just a kid on college tours.

[myrealname]

Uh-huh. There's no particular "look" to those who know creepy men, you know.
