No monsters arrived with the newbies - great! One less thing to worry about. Except it never quite works out that way, does it? Maybe the Door was just delayed a little, because on the 12th, a few monsters start appearing. And then more. And then more. Where's the off switch?! Oh right, no one knows.
Some of these monsters you might recognize, some your best friend from another world might be very familiar with. Some might be creatures you've never imagined. But don't worry, they all have one thing in common - they'd all be happy to tear you to itty bitty pieces. Or eat your liver. Or consume your soul. Or just scare the shit out of you, that's fun too.
So lock your doors and stay inside, and hope nothing breaks in through the windows. Alternately, now's a great time to get your hero on and go out and smack some monsters around. It's great exercise, and there's nothing better for stress relief! Just avoid those big scary fangs.► This log covers October 12th-17th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well

[The zombies behind them still scare her. She slows running just enough to allow herself to talk.]
Are you okay? Do you mind if I ask what that is?
[She briefly gestures behind her to the webbing on the zombie feet. Any method of defense is worth knowing about.]
no subject
I'm fine, just a little creeped out. Uh, this stuff is... it's like a synthetic spider web? It'll hold those guys for a couple hours.
no subject
[She's still moving quickly, just in case more zombies appear.]
Are synthetic spider webs a thing where you're from? Or is it a Hadriel thing?
no subject
They're uh, just a me thing. Just this formula I cooked up back home.
no subject
[She wonders what kind of person cooks up ways to trap people, or undead people.]
Were there zombies in your home? Or other monsters?
no subject
[Just your spandex-clad crime fighting vigilantes, nothing weird about that at all right?]
No zombies, not... really monsters either? There were aliens sometimes though, I guess those count as monster-like.
no subject
[She's been raised to be a gun fan.]
Aliens? That must have been strange. Did it help prepare you for this place? The monsters on my world were all human.

[She gives a small nod and touches her scarf to make sure it's still in place, then moves her hair to cover the scars where her ear used to be.]
It was very hard, yeah. Will, my roommate and kind of guardian, he saved my life along with another man. That's why I'm hoping he'll know how to protect us from zombies.
no subject
[He's on the lookout for zombies, so he's not really paying attention to her movements, but damn dude. ]
He sounds like a good guy. I don't know if the zombies will be all that hard to deal with, though, they don't seem to be keeping up with us.
no subject
Yeah, I guess we're in the clear as long as more don't show up. It's just the idea of being eaten by one of them, it's super creepy.
[Too much like her dad, but she doesn't want to have to explain that to him.]
no subject
[Speaking of jump scares, there's totally a zombie just falling off of a roof and landing on the ground in front of them, because why not.]
no subject
[The falling zombies causes her to move back quickly.] Oh, damn!
no subject
[Okay no that actually is worse than zombies. He's about to comment further but then there's a body hitting the ground and she backs up into him and honestly everything about this situation is kind of awful. He sticks it to the ground with some webbing before it has a chance to get up, and places a hand on her shoulder to like lead her around it. ewwww ew zombies]
Great, airdropping zombies. Let's scoot away from the buildings a little.
no subject
Yeah, maybe we should try to stay from trees too.
[It might be paranoid. But paranoid is good when it comes to the strange things that can happen in Hadriel]
And away from the shores. They could be underwater. It's not like they need to breathe.
no subject
[She seems pretty shaken up, so Peter's just going to keep his hand on her shoulder as they continue. He has no idea if it's going to help keep her calm at all, but it's the best thing he can think to do at the moment.]
Are we getting pretty close?
no subject
[She points to the spire up ahead and then stops walking.]
But what if there's zombies there too?
[It's not just the threat of them on the roofs that has her worried. The idea of them invading her apartment, her safe place, is very unpleasant.]
Should we walk around it at first, see if there's signs of a zombie attack?
no subject
Yeah, absolutely. We'll make sure it's clear before we do anything else. Just stay close to me, okay?
no subject
Okay.
[Her hand reaches over, touching his arm and then holding his hand if he'll allow it.]
no subject
I'm Peter, by the way.
[Little late for intros, but hey. Better late than never.]
no subject
I'm Abigail. Nice to meet you; I do wish the circumstances were different.
[There has to be far better ways to meet people than zombie attacks.]
