Event Log: The Stampede

There's a rumbling sound in the air early in the afternoon on December 26th. Whether you're new in town or you've seen it all, something like this hasn't happened before. Is it an earthquake? It feels kind of like a small one, and that might be endurable if not for the sudden snarling and gnashing of teeth!

As it turns out, these yet-unnamed apex predators are overrunning the city, ignoring their previous apprehension to barrel right through anything- or anyone- that stands in their way. Seemingly spooked by something, they are aggressive and violent and won't hesitate to tear anyone they meet to pieces... after trampling them underfoot, of course. They're so large and muscular that they may even take a few portions of buildings with them- how would you like to see one of these monsters crashing through your living room?

At least it's only these weird mammoths, though... right?

[He stops staring like a weirdo and starts trying to shoo Zack into the nearest building. Probably a shop or something IDK, everybody likes shops.]

I know it sounds weird, but I need you to trust me, okay?

[’Seriously, what is going on’- that’s another thing he’d like to say. Should have, even. Although he opens his mouth in protest, all that comes out are just stutters and flusters as he’s being made to skedaddle inside.

Still, even as his eyes narrow slightly while he listens, it’s not as super scrutinizing as their first meeting.]

...fine, fine. Just what do you mean by something is coming? What, is it like one of those scorpion fucks except bigger? [He chuckles a bit.] Well, ya know they say about them, don't you?

[once they're inside Peter starts looking out like every window. He feels bad news coming, but he can't see what it is yet and it's driving him a little nuts.]

It's not coming from the colosseum, I don't think it's scorpions. Wait, what? What, what does who say about them?

[Is that another brow raise? Sure is ‘cause color him surprised.]

Eh, whatever. If you’re that damn bugged out, then relax. I’m here, I got my scythe to protect ya! What’s the worst that could happen?

[He thought Zack meant scorpions specifically, and he was about to say as much when the 'ol spidey sense starts a'tingling. So, Peter will respond to the next thing instead:]

That!!

[HEY LOOK it's some of those mammoths, and they're charging straight for them and are absolutely going to take the front of the store out with them. What a pickle!!!]

Huh- [Just as he says that, Zack whips his hair back and forth I MEAN his head.

Oh god.

OH MAN.]

-Shit!!

[In an instant, he grabs Peter by the arm and practically dives into an alley, just barely out of the way.]

What the fuck were those things?!

[Peter goes with if only because he wants to make sure Zack doesn't get splatted, but immediately peeks back out of the alley when he's sure the other guy is safe.]

Some of the local wildlife. They normally just hang around outside the city, I've never seen them do this before.
