Event Log: The Stampede

There's a rumbling sound in the air early in the afternoon on December 26th. Whether you're new in town or you've seen it all, something like this hasn't happened before. Is it an earthquake? It feels kind of like a small one, and that might be endurable if not for the sudden snarling and gnashing of teeth!

As it turns out, these yet-unnamed apex predators are overrunning the city, ignoring their previous apprehension to barrel right through anything- or anyone- that stands in their way. Seemingly spooked by something, they are aggressive and violent and won't hesitate to tear anyone they meet to pieces... after trampling them underfoot, of course. They're so large and muscular that they may even take a few portions of buildings with them- how would you like to see one of these monsters crashing through your living room?

At least it's only these weird mammoths, though... right?

For blood and thunder!

[ Kettara raises her axe with a roar, prepared for the coming fight. Tinya is an honorable warrior. Anyone would be proud to fight at her side. ]

Let them come! Together, we shall strike them down!

[unphase]

[and she raises her sword in a traditional kendo stance. this situation is far from ideal, but she'd rather be fighting at the side of a friend than anything. it reminds her of home.

the first mammoth reaches Tinya. she's already phased, except for her forearms and the katana, so she's able to avoid what would be life threatening injuries when it snaps at her. she gets in close, driving her sword into its neck and dragging the sword across it. blood sprays everywhere]

Got one! How're you doing?

[ Roaring, Kettara swings hard and summons a column of solid rock before the charging beast. It stumbles, going down hard, and she swings with her axe. Cleaves its skull open. ]

I am victorious!

[ And they fight well together. Kettara tips her head back and roars so the rest of Hadriel will know as well. ]

[unphase]

[wow, she's really impressed by the magic! and the skull cleaving. she'd applaud, but she's already moved onto the next mammoth, bobbing though the air to confuse the beast, then going in for the kill]

You're really amazing! You know that, right?

[they do! she loves fighting alongside Kettara. it reminds her of home]

Together, we are strong!

[ Kettara wishes she could have had such a companion by her side in the battles she fought on Azeroth. It was different fighting alongside Master Muln - he was her teacher, guiding her forward. Tinya is her equal. They are warriors and together they will be strong. Kettara summons a gust of wind, battering one of the beasts toward Tinya so the other girl can strike it. ]

We are! Strong and fierce!

[she's used to fighting alongside the Legion. the Legion never used weapons, never killed, but she's found both a necessity for survival here. she'll ask forgiveness when she goes home, but until then, there are mammoths to kill and a friend to fight beside. and when the mammoth finds her, she whips herself around its neck quickly and strikes down at its neck, blood spraying everywhere]
