Event Log: The Stampede

Who: All characters participating in the event
What: The event log for Stampede event
Where: All over the city
When: December 26th-December 28th
Warnings: None

There's a rumbling sound in the air early in the afternoon on December 26th. Whether you're new in town or you've seen it all, something like this hasn't happened before. Is it an earthquake? It feels kind of like a small one, and that might be endurable if not for the sudden snarling and gnashing of teeth!

As it turns out, these yet-unnamed apex predators are overrunning the city, ignoring their previous apprehension to barrel right through anything- or anyone- that stands in their way. Seemingly spooked by something, they are aggressive and violent and won't hesitate to tear anyone they meet to pieces... after trampling them underfoot, of course. They're so large and muscular that they may even take a few portions of buildings with them- how would you like to see one of these monsters crashing through your living room?

At least it's only these weird mammoths, though... right?

Not dead is always good. Let's hope we can keep it up.

[There are worse places to stop and have a conversation. Probably.]

I'm no zoologist, but I've been watching these guys since we got here? And this whole thing seems waaaaaay out of left field. That's about the best guess I have, too. Maybe someone provoked them? Maybe there's a meaner critter than them out there?

[This is a perfectly fine place to stop and have a conversation!]

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on them too. They were always hovering just outside of the city and now suddenly they're stampeding through, so I'd definitely say you're right.

Here's to hoping we don't suddenly get attacked by something bigger and meaner!

[Totally safe!]

I mean, if it's one thing that's bigger and meaner, I think it would be a lot easier to wrangle than all these stupid things are right now. Like a. Space dragon or something. That'd be pretty sick.

[Scott snaps his armored fingers.]

I'm always expecting a space dragon! [He's a little stuck between thinking it would be awesome and thinking it would be terrifying. Mixed feelings.] I'd be worried but I guess you could probably grab it by it's tail and swing it around like it's nothing, huh?

[IT WOULD BE ONLY AWESOME]

Probably depends on the size of the dragon. Gonna be honest, though? I'd way rather make buddies with it, and then have a dragon buddy. Knowing how this place works, though, I'd probably have to punch it.

Probably.

[Oh no, that's sad though. He's already way too invested in this hypothetical scenario.]

But you never know, you may have a secret knack for taming dragons. Might be more handy to have a secret knack for taming...whatever the hell these things are, though.

[Damn man why can't we just befriend dragons???]

That would be way more handy, but, again, gotta resort to punching. Such is life.
