Event Log: The Stampede

There's a rumbling sound in the air early in the afternoon on December 26th. Whether you're new in town or you've seen it all, something like this hasn't happened before. Is it an earthquake? It feels kind of like a small one, and that might be endurable if not for the sudden snarling and gnashing of teeth!

As it turns out, these yet-unnamed apex predators are overrunning the city, ignoring their previous apprehension to barrel right through anything- or anyone- that stands in their way. Seemingly spooked by something, they are aggressive and violent and won't hesitate to tear anyone they meet to pieces... after trampling them underfoot, of course. They're so large and muscular that they may even take a few portions of buildings with them- how would you like to see one of these monsters crashing through your living room?

At least it's only these weird mammoths, though... right?

I'd like that. [ She won't be drinking, but she'll happily meet him and chat. ] ...Have you seen many others of these beasts? They seem to be drawn to town...

[ Putting at risk their homes and the people who can't fight. ]

More than I'd like. [It's concerning. He hasn't seen this many creatures so close to the buildings since the last time they lost Hope. For now, they can hold back the tide, but if it continues...]

But we have many capable fighters here. Keeping them under control isn't too much of a problem, for now.

But they're destructive, and... it looks as if something has pushed them to this.

It could be anything. Larger predators than they are, the gods, the Null... It's impossible to say, in a place like this.

[ In a place where unpredictability is sort of the M.O. ]

Well, if it gets out of hand, I'm sure we can get the Guard together to do a full sweep of the city.
