Intro Log: Ugh, Talk to the Hand

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-14th
Warnings: None

Welcome to Hadriel. Your first glimpse of your new home is maybe not the most welcome - you awaken on the floor of the colosseum, surrounded by sand and walls and... trees? Yes, trees. Along with you and the other newcomers, a number of Territorial Oaks have arrived in Hadriel. They look just like normal trees, except for those welcoming smiles - oh, and they don't like you at all. They move fast, hit hard, and if you manage to bring one down it'll go out in a large, dangerous explosion. This may have you rethinking your stance on clear-cutting.

While you're trying to avoid the trees, you might come across a few of the other things the Door has deposited in the colosseum for your (its?) entertainment. Namely, a bunch of toys that no one has played with in years. But maybe one of them will tickle your fancy?

Once you've finished indulging your 90's nostalgia, feel free to look around. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers February 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

"You're a Stark."

Rhaegar looked upon her in wonder and soon his features softened at the edges. She was Lyanna's blood and that meant she was family.

"You are sharp as you are lovely, Lady Sansa. I am Rhaegar Targaryen, formerly a Prince of Westeros. Surely you must know of my wife, Lyanna. What is your relation to her?"

His eagerness showed, wanting to know all about her that she was willing to share.

He coaxed a smile from her, her Tully blue eyes warming. It was a healing experience when she encountered kind men - and this one was family. That made him even more special.

This is Jon's father.

"Please call me Sansa." she stepped to his side - she was tall for a maid, but slender and graceful, "Lyanna is my aunt." which made him her...uncle?

The idea was startling and amazing. The old gods and the seven knew she needed more kin.

"Eddard is my father and Catelyn Tully is my mother."

What a delight, that so much of their family would be here. Dear Sansa here, his own sister he'd yet to meet, and his son. His and Lyanna's son. He hadn't yet come to meet him either, thinking it best to present a united front with her.

"Sansa it is." He agreed warmly with a nod. "You do have the look of a Tully. I know of no other family with such fiery auburn locks. I don't think I would have guessed you had Stark blood if you hadn't told me."

Chuckling softly, he reached to ever so lightly touch her elbow, just a small friendly gesture. "I am happy to know you. Family is to be kept close and cherished."

"All of my siblings have auburn hair too except for my sister. She has the full look of a Stark. Father said she favors Aunt Lyanna the most." however Sansa was probably the one who looked least like a Stark. She was practically her mother's mirror image, though multiple sources had told her she was prettier.

Including Petyr Baelish. Not that his opinion made her happy.

She smiled a little more at the touch before frowning in concern.

"I agree. Are you cold? I know of several places where we can warm ourselves."

"The Tully blood is strong as the Riverlands, I see." For them to have all inherited Tully features, save for one.

Her question brought a smile to him and he gave a small nod. Such a kind, polite girl. He was glad to have her as family, even if they had only just met.

"Yes, please, Sansa. I would like to go inside somewhere. It wouldn't do for us to linger in the chill of the day."

"In coloration if nothing else." her siblings were true Starks and she too had found her Stark nature, hidden beneath her silly dreams and shattered heart.

"It's best if we don't." she led him into the nearest spire, quickly locating a room where a fire could be built. Pulling off her gloves, she knelt down and got to work.

"The cold can be deadly. You can freeze without realizing it."

Rhaegar followed Sansa along, confident in her ability to find them a place to rest. Yet, the surprise was clear on his face when he watched her go about making them a fire.

"You've quite the skill for a lady, Sansa. I'm happy to offer my assistance if you require it."

An offer, not a judgement of her abilities. He could see she could take care of herself. The more he watched her, the more he was certain that it had been necessity for her to do so. He wouldn't step in unless she asked.

Readying a fire was something everyone in the North should know how to do. No Lord or Lady should think themselves above such a task or they might well regret it should anything happen to their servants.

"Please rest. You've had a shock." she soon had a flame that caught onto the tinder. Then she slowly added wood to the pile, feeding the fire until it was large enough to warm the room.

She rose once the heat was palpable, smoothed out her skirts and gave him a brief smile.

"This is the second world I've seen outside of Westeros. I suppose you could call me a veteran traveler."

"Thank you for your kindness."

Rhaegar would have a seat by the fire, not paying any mind to dust or grime that he may be sullied with. He was beyond impressed with Sansa, his admiration showing easily on his face, a twinkle in his eye.

"The second world? How is such a thing possible?" Had she done so willingly? How were these worlds different from their own? Did other Starks have this sort of ability? So many questions! He didn't know where to start.

"I don't know." she had no answers for how she was able to travel from one realm to another; one world to another, "I passed through a door at one point and I saw a world come to an end. Then I arrived in the caverns that once composed Hadriel."

This was just...her luck, she supposed. After leaving Winterfell for the first time, her luck had secured her few good memories. Passing from world to world was fascinating, but terrifying at the same time.

"Look at this as luck. An experience so few others could have. The chance to learn, to look within and see who you are. You're so strong, Sansa. We've known each other mere minutes and I can see that."

He stretched out his long legs and crossed them at the ankle, pushing some hair over his shoulder, tucking a few shorter strands behind his ear.

"You'll find your way home and be all the better for your travels."
stonebird: (❅ where you were not)

When Rhaegar Targaryen complimented you, a blush was impossible to hold back or hide. Sansa had a hard time recovering, but she finally responded, her vibrant head bowed.

"I have learned from experience, I'm afraid. I'm not naturally strong."

His hair was hard not to notice and she hesitated before asking:

"My lord, I could braid your hair and give you a proper Northern style? It does help when you are trying to walk through a cold wind."
