Welcome to Hadriel. Your first glimpse of your new home is maybe not the most welcome - you awaken on the floor of the colosseum, surrounded by sand and walls and... trees? Yes, trees. Along with you and the other newcomers, a number of Territorial Oaks have arrived in Hadriel. They look just like normal trees, except for those welcoming smiles - oh, and they don't like you at all. They move fast, hit hard, and if you manage to bring one down it'll go out in a large, dangerous explosion. This may have you rethinking your stance on clear-cutting.
While you're trying to avoid the trees, you might come across a few of the other things the Door has deposited in the colosseum for your (its?) entertainment. Namely, a bunch of toys that no one has played with in years. But maybe one of them will tickle your fancy?
Once you've finished indulging your 90's nostalgia, feel free to look around. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers February 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

u kno what this is
She got used to it. For the most part.
And then he disappeared, one day, as easily as all the rest, and the numbness broke into a million pieces, as shattered as each window in her small home now is. Every part of her wants to forget, to drown that year and more of memories in too much alcohol and so many activities that she collapses into unconsciousness rather than drift asleep.
But then there's that message — he's back — and pure cynicism wonders if it's even the same version of him which was here before. If, like several others, he's come back as a blank slate without any recollection of the city, its people or...
Well, her.
Probably. Knowing her luck. But the only way to know for sure is to go there, as much as she wants to avoid it.
Which is how she ends up standing at the doorframe of the ward, arms folded as she leans against it, looking entirely as though she isn't sure whether her next step will be forward or backward. It isn't until he lifts himself into a sitting position that her mind is made up, not until she catches his eyes from across the room and there's a recognition there which answers all her questions, and she moves briskly forward, arms unwinding from around her chest and moving back to her sides.
He doesn't get punched. He doesn't get hugged, either. Not yet. Instead, she drops onto the bed next to him and brushes a hand against his thigh. )

guard hq, lmk if this is ok!
It looks pretty quiet today though and once he notices that Ignis is the only person in sight, Sora finds himself pondering if he should interrupt, but he also notices that Ignis seems to be spacing out.]
Uh...is this a bad time? [He can at least look a little sheepish about just barging in, but he's not that sorry either. He also lifts up his hand where he's clutching his new phone, screen facing Ignis as if that's supposed to explain everything.] They said something about a Guard in that welcome guide. I had a few questions for anybody who could answer them.

Today is no exception. He turns up as always, but instead of going back empty-handed once again, he spots a familiar sight that makes his blood run cold.
Ignis.
It's Ignis, battered and worn down and slumped over on his knees, clearly injured and most definitely not suited to be in this weather. Shit. Noctis breaks out into a jog as he comes for him, dropping to his knees in the sand and immediately shrugging off his coat; scavenged from one of the shops. He's draping it over Ignis' shoulders and tugging it firmly closed, his heart racing and aching at the sight of him. ]

It's what she told herself in the dead of night, when she fiddled with the phone in her hands, talking to people she'd only just met, thinking about the war she'd been thrown into, thinking about the decision that's going to decide the fate of this whole place and-
It's quiet.
The small apartment lacks the familiar sounds of a small child bounding up and down the stairs, the smell of someone cooking, Gladdy's booming voice over her phone, checking up on them for the fifth time that week, and-
Ignis' presence around the city was a comfort she hadn't realized. And now that he was gone, well. The quiet becomes obtrusive. It has to be hitting Noct and Kate way worse and she needs to check up on them-that's a thought that occurs to her one morning, but-
There are newcomers flooding the area and she needs to protect the ones she can, moving to and fro from the coliseum for hours, following them back to the clinic to see if there is someway to help and-]
Ignis!
[It's like a jolt of lightning hits her when she scans the small room and sees his face. He's in front of her, looking worse for wear in every single way imaginable. Any relief she felt in seeing him is immediately replaced with concern. ]
What happened to you? You look-you didn't get this beat up from those trees, did you?

Bucky Barnes | OTA
[ give them nothing but hell, that's the first rule of war and bucky is hellbent on heeding it. he didn't crack when hydra obliterated his men right off the field of battle that godawful night in azzano where their tricked up weapons turned night into day and brothers in arms into dust. he didn't crack when they put him to work, overloading his already exhausted, malnourished body right to the brink of death. he's sure as hell not going to crack now, deemed of no more use to the workforce and sent to satisfy the doctor's curiosity.
he's got his mantra and he keeps on repeating it like it's air in his lungs, blood in his veins, a spit in the face to any question that may be posed to him - he's stopped listening a long time ago. ]
James Barnes, Sergeant, 32557038...
[ his voice is weak, mumbled, speech verging on slurred, but it doesn't matter, it's loud enough, it's anything but useful to them and everything to focus on for him.
there are screams. but those aren't new, they break the silence at random, when there's a silence to be broken, when the machines aren't at work. he doesn't realize the straps are off his body, he's been strapped to the damn table for so long, it's almost like the feel of them has merged with his skin, their ghost keeps him still. ]
Barnes...Sergeant...3255...
[ the screaming is closer than it usually is. is someone else in the room with him? who are they losing? he goes through the list in his head, of the men who were in the worst shape when he was carried off.
a shadow over him. the doctor.
a tree.
not the doctor.
is he outside? when did he get outside? why did he get outside?
have they been bombed? it's the only explanation his hazy mind can come up with, and it makes him laugh, almost maniacally. that's right, wipe the damn bastards right off the map!
did that tree just move? it sure wasn't this close a moment ago.
forgotten instincts roll him out of the way - and he moves. he's moved. he's not strapped to the table.
well, okay then. ]
b. Exploration wildcard
[ bucky stumbles out of the colosseum in a daze. he's not quite sure how his legs are carrying him but what matters is they are. frankly, the list of things he's not quite sure about is getting longer by the minute, and he doesn't see much of a point in dwelling on it. he needs to find out what happened, needs to find out who else ended up here with him. be good to know what else he can expect an attack from; he eyes the structures around him wearily. none of them seem sentient, but neither did the trees, until they went for him. probably wouldn't hurt to know where here is, either - sure, most cities are hard to tell apart after they've seen action, but the view he stops to gawk at doesn't seem like anywhere he's heard of in europe.
it doesn't seem like anywhere he's heard of at all. he's never been to kansas, but something tells him this ain't it. ]
That's enough sightseeing, Barnes.
[ he mutters to himself. he's separated from his unit and he's just survived an assault by trees. it's cold - and while he can't quite feel it as badly as he knows he should be (his body must still be in shock from the doctor's ministrations or whatever the hell happened to get him into whatever the hell this is - all he has on are his uniform pants and undershirt, both have seen better days. he's grateful to at least still be wearing his boots) he knows better than to think that means he won't suffer the consequences. he's gone this far with his body intact, he's not losing appendages to frost now. he needs safety - or whatever passes for it here - he needs food, and he needs to get warm. his feet start moving, carrying him in search of whichever answer he can stumble on first. ]
b. if you didn't think you were losing your mind before....
[The voice - an odd, purring, mewling kind of voice - comes from the direction of a white cat sitting on top of a nearby half-destroyed wall. The animal watches Bucky with an unblinking, bright green gaze and gives him a moment to get his bearings before hopping gracefully down to the ground and making an approach.]
I know enough about humans to know you're going to be in trouble very soon. [It could mean anything, but at the moment, he means if the man stays out in the cold much longer. It doesn't take a genius to see the signs.]
I suppose you'd like some help.

She has been moving through the impromptu forest, wondering how exactly one is supposed to deal with them. Chop them down? Set them on fire? The latter would be an option only if all people were gone from the area. She can offer aid though, as she moves through the trees, ducking and dodging, and there is a part of her that wonders after these trees. She does spot someone up ahead between the trees, and, well, he seems to be a little out of it? She can't tell until she moves a little closer. [ It's a gruff question. Kettara rises to her full heigh, one hand reaching for an axe. She's been out hunting and avoiding the humans who gather closer to the city and all its buildings. She feels contented further out, away form the trappings of civilization, and sometimes - if she concentrates with all her might - she can hear the elements when she calls to them. Their words are muffled, but she feels a presence, a warmth, as she reaches out and something, ever so tentatively, reaches back.
The spirits are not dead. But they are distant from her, now. Her path has changed. She must adapt to meet the challenge.
Eventually, that will mean going among the humans. Kettara doesn't like that idea much.
She jerks her chin, displaying her tusks. This human looks - harried. Injured, perhaps? She inhales sharply, scenting the air. There are enemies here, trees that walk and hate, but she can't smell any in the immediate vicinity. ]

There's a frustration in it, if she's honest. In wanting to be useful but knowing she'd only be in the way.
But sometimes, after the people have been cleared out and the creatures who came with them have scattered to the city outskirts, there are some interesting things left behind. That's what she's there for, the day after, poking around the edge of the wide space with her scarf pulled up to her ears and a hat drawn down low over her ears.
Even so, she hears the cursing, and she follows it curiously to find a girl who looks barely younger than herself.]
Did you lose something? [It's barely a question, posed in a slightly muffled voice. The only part of her face visible is the slightly long bridge of a slim nose and a pair of large, dark violet eyes.]

Rhaegar Targaryen | Game of Thrones | OTA
Rhaegar came to, slowly blinking his eyes open, feeling a bit of grit beneath his hands. Sand...? He was drowsy, vision blurry at the edges as he pushed himself to his feet. Was he... at the Dragonpit? Why would he--?
Ah, but as his vision cleared, he realized he wasn't there at all, though it was of a similar structure. How did he get here? The last thing he remembered was.. oh. Yes. His hand flew to his chest and he looked downward, realizing he was no longer in his armor. No chestplate. No part of him that had caved in and taken every last breath from his body. He was so perturbed by this that even the oddly smiling trees around him couldn't earn so much as a second glance from him.
Slowly, he began to walk. Step by step. He had to find out where he was. How this was possible. He'd nearly stepped on something that was lying beside him and the sight of it was beyond welcome. If nothing else, at least he had his harp here with him. Picking it up, he tucked it under his arm as he once again turned to explore while keeping distance from the trees.
Spires
... what were these strange structures? Rhaegar stood before them, hugging his harp to his chest as he gazed upon them. Some had crumbled, yet others looked clean and new. He was tempted to ask any of the people milling about, but they seemed to have their own agendas, going about their days. They hadn't recognized him either, though that didn't surprise him. This couldn't be Westeros. Or even anywhere in Essos. Everything was too different.
There was something in these tall, narrow shapes that sparked some creativity in him. He began to pluck at his harp here and there, as though trying to eke out a new tune. Surely something would come to him the longer he stayed and appreciated.
Orchard
What a beautiful place.
Rhaegar imagined it must have been more grand not long ago, given the stumps strewn about. Wood must have been harvested some time in the last year - the stumps didn't look very old just yet.
Stepping carefully over to a large stump, he lowered himself onto it to sit, stretching long legs out in front of him and crossing them at the ankle. He set his harp down, leaning against the stump. Taking in a long, deep breath, he closed his eyes and relaxed. He was still becoming accustomed to breathing again. The wind on his face. The smells of greenery. Any and every little thing he could absorb, he was. It brought him such joy.
He was content to spend his day here, looking about, people watching if anyone happened by.
Orchard
She crept beside him, kneeling at his side, tucking her legs beneath her. Gently, she reached out to brush a long strand of hair behind his ear. His beauty belonged in this place, the orchard hardly holding up against his Valyrian features and the noble qualities that sang as clearly as his harp. It was like he was gift, given by these trees and gods, surrounded by a world meant to compliment him.
"You seem content for a man pulled from one world into another." Her smile was soft, pressed to his temple as she kissed him.

Allura | OTA and one closed!
[Nature was a force to be reckoned with, as powerful and intelligent as any man-made system. This much was true no matter what planet they were on, from Olkari to the Balmera and everywhere in between. And despite her life mostly spent in space, far from nature and surrounded by Altean-made structures, in the grand castleship, or the more humble shuttles, Allura always had a fondness for the outdoors. The pinks of flowers and the greens of trees.
This. Was different.
The oak tree stares down at her, cartoonish grin stretched across it's bark, and in the time it takes her to realize that a tree is grinning at her, the thing is already moving, a wide branch slamming into her and sending the princess airborn, crashing into the nearest wall of the colosseum and face-down into the dirt. Picking herself up off of the ground, her hand goes to her side — looking for her bayard.
Which happens to be laying in the dirt a few feet away, the device's white-and-blue sitting about where she'd been hit in the first place, and near the foot of someone else who found themselves in the arena.]
Excuse me! [Now might not be the time for propriety, princess. She gestures to the item near the stranger's foot.] Could you... lend me a hand?
II. Going Out With a Bang
[Ultimately, through the collective efforts of newcomers and those who seem like they know more of what's going on, the trees numbers start thinning, one by one. But it only takes once to learn out that this creature's finale ended with quite the explosion.
She catches sight of another of the oak trees trembling, turning red and she can guess that there are only moments before it pops.
And there's someone standing right in the blast zone.]
Watch out!
[Dashing up, Allura takes the stranger by the arm, dragging them back with all of the strength she can muster (and it's quite a lot of strength) but when it becomes obvious there's no retreat, she holds out an arm, the blue-white light of her shield sparking to life in front of her.]
There isn't enough time, get behind me!
[And you'll have to get really close, considering the shield isn't much more than what covers Allura. It's better than nothing though.]
III. Closed to Lance
[A little singed, but very much alive, Allura has made her way to just outside the colosseum, where she sits, as she takes a breather after a rather explosive battle. Setting her helmet beside her, she sighs, resting her elbows on her knees, and taking stock of her situation. It's cold, but her jumpsuit under her armor provides enough insulation that she doesn't really feel it until the wind is nipping at her nose.
She's just about to pull out the communication device when there's familiar squeaking, and sure enough the four space mice come scampering up.]
I was wondering where you four had run off to! -- No, a gift will not get you off of the hook for following me in here, you four are supposed to be watching over Kalternecker.
[But Allura, you haven't yet seen what the gift is.]
IV. Wildcard! [((Throw anything you'd like at her, or shoot me a message if you'd like to hash something out first!))]]
plops in here
it takes a while. it might take more than a while if they had stuck to squeaking and trying to grab his attention from the ground, but one of them gets so fed up with this boy's ignorance that it climbs up onto his shoulder, and he notices that well enough to make an attempt to brush it off, thinking it some insect or another that isn't worth even turning his head to look at, but when it doesn't move —
he turns his head, catches sight of pastel ears and tail and a somewhat disapproving look and he nearly jolts — or maybe he does, just a little, a squawk of surprise the only sound that comes out of him as he reaches for the mouse on his shoulder to hold it in the palm of his hand. ) You're — what are you doing here?
( emphatic squeaking. ) Does that mean Allura's here too?
( more emphatic squeaking. ) Is she — the colosseum —
( so much emphatic squeaking that it drowns out the determined sound of his own he gives as the mouse rejoins the others to make their way back in the direction they'd come, and he follows them as quickly as he can, though of course they reach her before he does and all he hears is the word gift on his approach, and … okay. that makes him grin a bit. )
Sorry I'm not giftwrapped. ( he says on his approach, that goofy smile nearly reaching from ear to ear. ) Are you okay?

Sora | OTA
[The first thing Sora thinks when he comes to on the ground of the arena is that something went terribly wrong when letting his heart be his guide. This was not the coliseum he’d meant to come to and while he tries to clear his head he pushes himself into an upright position to get a better look at the surrounding area. There’s no sign of Donald or Goofy which is a little unsettling, but what’s even more unsettling is the fact that he’s slowly being flanked by strange, smiling trees.
Oh man, this is not happening. Without a second thought he summons the Kingdom Key into his hand, gearing up to attack as necessary. He starts working his way backwards step by step, keeping an eye on the trees…before one suddenly rushes and Sora turns to shoot off a fireball from the tip of his weapon, trying to set the tree aflame.
Maybe it’s time to run? It’s definitely time to get out of here since other trees have taken notice and begin looking around the arena trying to spot their attacker. As he turns to leave he loses his footing though, stepping on a stray, open container of Gak and slipping his way across the floor and right into whoever’s nearby. Is it you? Sorry about that.]
Whoa! [He’s trying to stop from sending the both of you crashing to the ground and Sora bounces back, glancing at the newcomer and then at the trees again, noticing that they’re idling but still on the prowl.]
Think we should go before they change their minds? [Even if the answer's "yes", it's pretty clear that Sora's ready to fight and will just come right back to fend off the trees. Choose wisely.]
Park
[Instead of bothering the check out the spires or figure out where he should be going, Sora’s found himself walking around and settling himself outside on a bench in the park. The lack of trees doesn’t bother him at all and it’s only when he’s seated that he fishes the strange new phone out of his pocket. It takes him a while to figure out how to click through everything, but eventually he works it out.
Anyone who walks past during the time he’s sitting there will find one (1) teenager hunched over with his phone in his hand, scrolling through and reading the welcome guide and increasingly growing more and more baffled. He seems a little lost in thought as he closes it, but should he notice someone’s shadow nearby he’ll look up and give you a small but friendly grin.]
Hi. Have you been here for a while? I was hoping I could ask you a few questions.
Store/exploration
[The thing that Sora’s starting to get about Hadriel is that the place is pretty big. He can be found with the map pulled up on his phone from the newcomer’s guide, eyes alternating between the screen and watching where he’s going to start learning about his surroundings. He can be found exploring a handful of streets, making his way to the orchard, checking out the armory and even poking his head into the science lab. He doesn’t say in any location for too particularly long, though if someone speaks up while he’s checking things out he’s more inclined to stay.
However, he finds himself in one of the stores nearby and spends a little more time here, taking his time to pick up items and examine them on his own. He seems to be grabbing what looks like the fixings for a basic meal, looking and poking and prodding through everything.
That is until there’s a shelf. There’s a shelf that towers above him with a box of what appears to be cookies looming over his head. Sora pauses, looking straight up and debating his next move before setting everything on the ground (probably blocking a path) and grasping onto the shelf below, beginning to climb his way up and ignoring the protesting creaking that follows. A hand stretches out, fingers swiping at the box in an almost futile effort.]
Come on…almost…[The box is hooked in his fingers and slips off of the shelf.] Gotcha! —wait! [The problem with the box slipping is that it falls right from Sora’s hand, heading its way down toward the floor and anyone below him. Heads up!]
wildcard;
[Hey what’s up I don’t know what I’m doing! If you’d like to do something else please throw me your own starter or you can hit me via PM or on plurk at
Park!
He freezes as he hears the words, caught off guard for a moment, staring at the boy on the bench, almost in disbelief for a moment before he says anything.]
Yes.
[Well, no one ever said it was a lot of anything.]

Liv Moore | iZombie | ota
[There is that little groan from Liv as her eyes open, and it does take a moment for the confusion to fade away to register that she is no longer in a morgue waiting to spoon in to her meal. No, she... Is in a forest? That makes absolutely no sense, Liv thinks, as she rises slowly, brushing the sand from her hands. A kidnapping? It is true that things have become a little dicey with the existence of zombies coming to light, even if it isn't something that is believed mainstream, yet. But, with the tan and the wig, Liv has been able to pass as human no problem, even if she doesn't like it. And, why a forest? Last time, Don E had been kept and camera'd, waiting to starve him out.
She still glances around, a small frown on her mouth, and oh, a phone? Bending, she picks it up, although it isn't hers. It's a creaking that catches her attention, that has her looking over her shoulder towards where it has come from. She doesn't see anyone, or anything, but pushing the phone in to her pocket for the moment, she turns her body in the direction.]
Hello? Is someone there?
[Although Liv is aware that depending, she may or may not get a response. Still, she does start to take several careful steps in that direction, trying to figure out where it is that she was, and how she ended up here. It's another creak that makes her pause, glancing up at the tree to her right, and is that- it almost look like it is smiling? Has she been hit on the head, suffered some sort of injury, because that doesn't- it's a grunt, stumbling forward, having been struck by something, although Liv isn't entirely certain by what. She ducks, pressing up against the trunk of a tree, catching her breath, only to find the trunk slipping away from her and-]
You... are walking?
[Yes, she is talking to a tree, perplexed, moreso when it moves threateningly towards her, and how does she even deal with that? By moving, ducking out of the way, and running. Perhaps in to you? Perhaps by you?]
[Exploring]
[Her lab coat is a little worse for the wear, smudged with dirt, and there is a hint of a scratch on her cheek. Her hair might have a twig or leaf, or two, although she has tried to get most of it out. To say that she feels like a stranger in a strange place is pretty clear. Her eyes keep glancing around, confused, because this is all... Well, being turned in to a zombie and waking up in a body bag has been a standard by which Liv can judge most things. She's not being held captive by some people who want to prove that zombies exist and that is a plus, right?
Her hands are in her pockets, and she browses the shops, looking for anything that may be familiar. Hadriel means nothing to her, and this whole place is pretty basic, at least from what Liv can tell. No cars, no tvs, heck no paved roads four to six lanes deep. It's pretty quiet, all around, which is strange. She can say that she has always liked the life that hums in Seattle, maybe moreso when she had been alive and able to actually taste the foods and drinks, but there are still many things that she does like about it.
She browses the shops, looking at some of the items, turning to the people near her.]
Everything really is free? No, surprise, you now owe ten thousand dollars in debt for a credit card that you didn't read the fine print on?
[Later she is standing off to the side, device in her hands. There is that frown that plays on her lips as she tries to make it work like the cells that she knows back home. Liv is, obviously, having no luck at trying to call the people that she knows.]
Siri? Alexa? Hello, phone? Where is the internet feature?
[Wild card]
[Liv will be out and about, exploring.]
[ooc; will match any format]
Exploring
You're right about that. The shops get items in occasionally, it's best to just grab what you want when you see it. Or someone else will do it for you. No worries, surprise debt is unappealing and doesn't happen here. Unfortunately, neither does going home as you please.

riku | kingdom hearts
[ Riku raises his aching head from where he's lying on the sand and dirt, feeling the earth suddenly quaking underneath him and hearing a swift rush of leaves. It felt like a giant had taken a step nearby him, but as he raises himself onto his hands and knees to gain his bearings, there's only a small and dusty and super naked toy smiling up at him. How it managed to stay upright, he isn't sure, but it's just creepy and unsettling enough to distract him from the colossal, foreboding-looking tree smiling at him behind it. ]
What-
[ There's a sudden loud creaking, like a screaming old ship on a stormy ocean, and Riku finally looks up to see a large, wooden arm seized up in the air above him, preparing to strike down. He immediately pitches himself to the side, rolling just out of the way as the tree branch crashes onto the earth, squishing the creepy little toy into the crater it makes underneath it.
Whoever you are, Riku might have impressively dodged the arm in the knick of time, but not impressively enough to keep from crashing into you. Oops. He's not used to a lot of other people being in his battlefield. ]
b. Shops
[ Unfortunately, in true Kingdom Hearts fashion, Riku isn't going to be leaving the Colosseum until all of the trees have been vanquished. This means that when he's finally able to leave the Colosseum after a small succession of cure spells, he might be mostly free from bloodstains, but his clothes might be a little tattered after the explosions.
His clothes might have survived numerous battles, but numerous giant explosions can create some wear and tear, especially since these weren't tailored by the Good Fairies back home. Aside from the burnt edges and loose threads, there is an obvious, large hole over his right knee that could use patching up.
Finding a piece of fabric to match the purple of his pants might be few and far between, but even just a needle and thread would be nice. This place seems bare bones as it is. Riku, certainly looking like he's just walked out of the battle, is smoothing back his hair as he squints at the phone in his hand. He drops his hand and gives the screen a small tap, and he seems a little surprised when the screen changes before studying it again.
If you haven't already stopped to look at him, he'll raise his eyes to you. He's used to asking strangers from other worlds questions when he needs to, and you seem no different. ]
Excuse me. [ He brings up a hand, a loose gesture that he means no harm as he takes a few steps forward, stopping at a comfortable distance. ] I'm looking for the Guard.
c. Exploration/Wildcard
[ Something Riku has had some experience with. There's generally been a goal in mind every time he's arrived in a new world; in this one, he figures, it's to find a way out. After a short while of leaning against a nearby building, poring over the information in the newbie guide, he decides he could turn over the possibilities of how he got here in his head as many times as he likes. The only way to get to know this world and how to leave it would be to see as much of it as possible and to gather as much information as is available.
So in the first few days or so, Riku will be exploring near the vicinity of the Colosseum. He'll be looking through the shops or roaming the streets near the odd housing facilities with his arms crossed, seemingly perplexed at the architecture.
If there's one temple he visits, it will be Confusion's as he makes his way towards the bridge to the other side of the map. He'll be within sight of the open door, leaning on his hand against one of the temple's pillars, holding his forehead. If you approach, he'll snap his head around to see you, his eyes wide before he asks: ] Who's there?
[ In the last few days, catch him exploring across the bridge. He'll be looking up at a Watchtower's building from one of its legs, or Riku will be bent down near a tomato bush in the Orchard, holding one in his hand and seeming to debate picking it. He doesn't know if this garden belongs to anyone. Can he just take it? ]
( ooc: Otherwise, feel free to make up your own prompt! We can hash out details through DM or at my plurk,
Shops
She considers ignoring him, but glances over at the sound of his voice, and if the direct question hadn't caught her attention, the blood certainly draws the eye. And nose, slightly. Mm, it's been a while since she turned one of these people inside out.
But it's the words themselves that shake her from that line of thinking and cause her to smirk.]
The Guard! Why, what would you want with those useless posturers?

Lady Maria | OTA
[ Maria felt different... The sensation of sitting, one leg crossed over the other in her grand, ornate, chair, to being slumped over on a dusty, sandy floor. She rubbed a finger or two over her thumb, the grit and dirt between them crumbled and vanished into the pores of her gloves. This was not the Astral Clocktower, this was not her nightmare and possibly most importantly... Maria felt no longer trapped there. ]
How passing strange.
[ She uttered, voice gentle and with an Eastern Europian accent. Raising to her feet, brushing the back of her gloved hand across her knees and the long sides of her fancy Hunters garb, to clear it of earth and debris.
It didn't take Maria long to evaluate her surroundings, taking special notice of not only the trees but the other people around her. She was no longer alone and from the looks of it, she was the only person from world, from Yharnam.
As she pondered on what madness had become her, chalking it up to the actions of a Great One, Maria felt the presence of an oncoming tree. How curious that it could move, that it seemed to have a face and intentions of its own. Did it somehow have insight? Was it unnecessary to assume such a thing? Would looking for eyes on the inside of its head be considered blasphemous or would she be rewarded?
There was only one way to find out.
Maria, with composure as an instinct, drew her Rakuyo sword, pulled the two blades apart and with her stance mocking that of the hands of the Astral Clocktower, she set forth to meet her foe, head on. ]
I do not know of what affliction you harbour but I know any suffering you house, will soon be over.
[ With great dexterity and confidence in her ability, Maria managed to slice and dice the tree as it rushed towards her. A side step too slow it seemed, however, as once defeated the wooden sprite erupted in a blaze of flames! Maria's silver eyes, wide with surprise! (To set oneself on fire? A trait of the Vilebloods and yet she'd never encountered a creature of this nature before.)
The force, enough to toss Maria off her feet and across the area was indeed a surprise to the Hunter. Laying there, in a heap on the floor, just as she had arrived only moments later... Only this time her face burnt black in places, embers glowing lightly in the passing breeze on the ends and hems of her attire.
Was she dead already? Had she underestimated such a seemingly simply looking foe? ]

The lady who fought the tree had seemed well enough during her battle, but he can't help but wince as the explosion knocks her off her feet. A moment later he races over, ready to assist her if she needs it.]
My lady? [he asks as he kneels beside her.] Are you injured?

Loras Tyrell ✿ Game of Thrones
[ It's not entirely far off from where Loras would expect to be, except that this place is certainly not King's Landing. These are not the black cells - thank the gods for that - but he's not exactly about to be grateful for it. He thinks that it's inherently unsettling in nature.
He's glad to have the weight of his sword at his side. He's never considered himself to be anything less than brave, but Loras would be lying if he said that having ready access to a weapon made things seem better. Not keen to loiter, he turns to go, nearly tripping over a troll doll with alarmingly green hair.
What the hell -
It's unlike any doll he's ever seen, and Loras doesn't care to think what sort of person would keep it. It just resolves him to get out of the colloseum a little quicker. ]
[ii. EXPLORATION]
[ It's a peculiar place. There's something grand and dramatic about the look of it, but not in the way the great keeps of Westeros had always seemed to him. The strange beauty in it isn't enough to relieve the tension that's crept up in his body since he arrived.
Perhaps you've run into him somewhere along the way, but his feet seem to take him to the park. It's a bit of a sad state, isn't it, without its trees (unless the trees were like those horrifically smiling oaks, in which case, good riddance), but Loras can appreciate the place nonetheless. It's a bit calming in the wake of being uprooted from the life he knew, and Loras is happy to stay here a bit. ]

Kettara is sitting crosslegged on the ground, meditating. Her weapons rest at her side, twin axes. She opens her eyes at the sound of approaching footsteps, but doesn't immediately reach for them.

Leon | Kingdom Hearts | OTA
[Leon's plan after fighting with his friends to defend his city from an horde of monsters was... sleeping. A lot. Taking a day off, perhaps, to let his body recover from the battle before returning to work- but apparently his short vacation plans were going to be delayed. The man didn't quite remember how he fell asleep, he was walking back to his place with Cloud and Tifa and a moment later he was on a cold stone floor: lost, confused and surrounded by noises of cracking wood.
The time to get on his feet and draw his sword and he is already fending off wild branches reaching for him (Heartless? No, they feel... different.), the territorial Oaks didn't exactly wait for Leon to wake up before surrounding him and trying to claim their prey. It takes him some time before he gets to leave the creatures behind and find a relatively safe spot, even if still inside the large building, there he finally stops trying to figure out what's happening.
The place reminds him of the Olympus Coliseum if that had been abandoned for decades but he's sure he had never been there before- still fleeing seems the best option considering the whole building seems infested with those... trees. He will try to leave for the city, even if he doesn't know what's expecting him outside, he'll stop only to help others if he'll see more people.]
Around town
[Leon took his time exploring the city. He already found the phone between his belongings and already checked the brief introduction offered about the place- just to feel as confused as before. Just when things seemed to go for the best... Gods of another world kidnapped him? If he had to be honest it wasn't that hard to believe, he had seen different worlds with different deities before, but they never had so much impact in his life.
It will be easy to spot him around town, gunblade on his shoulder and phone in the other hand, as he explores the place. He may be seen at the shop, trying to gather some food, around the houses as he tries to choose a place to use as shelter or near the park as he inspects the plants in it, ready to deal with them in case they're oaks in disguise.]
around
She has found a spot and dug a decent sized hole, paws somehow seeming to flick up more dirt than usual, and if anyone looks too closely, they may well see that her paws aren't quite normal paws. She does drop her little package in the hole, which is some strange slim substance in a container that tastes as bad as it smells and looks. What purpose it has, she doens't know, but for now it shall remain hidden in case of future use.
It's then the reverse that she does, front paws looking more normal again, pausing as she glances up mid-fill, watching as the man moves around, seeming to be looking for something. Perhaps investigating? Her head cocks slightly, before giving a snort and taking a seat on the hole.]
They won't bite, the trees.
