Welcome to Hadriel. Your first glimpse of your new home is maybe not the most welcome - you awaken on the floor of the colosseum, surrounded by sand and walls and... trees? Yes, trees. Along with you and the other newcomers, a number of Territorial Oaks have arrived in Hadriel. They look just like normal trees, except for those welcoming smiles - oh, and they don't like you at all. They move fast, hit hard, and if you manage to bring one down it'll go out in a large, dangerous explosion. This may have you rethinking your stance on clear-cutting.
While you're trying to avoid the trees, you might come across a few of the other things the Door has deposited in the colosseum for your (its?) entertainment. Namely, a bunch of toys that no one has played with in years. But maybe one of them will tickle your fancy?
Once you've finished indulging your 90's nostalgia, feel free to look around. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers February 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Was he thinking of siding with the gods? It was a possibility if it meant maybe getting out of here. That's all. Fix whatever's wrong with this world, get out of here to go back home and continue the journey.]
Okay. [Does he just take that at face value? Not exactly, but it's more of a way to consider that fact.] I will. What kind of emotions do they feed on? All of them? And that still doesn't explain why us.
[Dumb, dumb, dumb.] That's good to know, too, even if it means people might be in danger when they get here. I'll see if I can speak to both groups later. I'm still trying to figure out stuff. [There's a brief pause before there's another grin.] Sora, by the way.

That doesn't mean he has to be cold or cruel about it.]
Just be smart about things, and you'll be alright. You'll find that the people here are more than willing to help out. [He stops, trying to remember how many of these so called 'gods' there are.] Lad, I'll be honest, I don't know how many are here. I know there's hope, love, sorrow, fear. Those at least. And when we feel those things, they feed. I don't know why us, but all of us benefit them. So being wary about them is still a good idea. A rabbit shouldn't cozy up too much to a fox, after all.
[It's so frustrating.] If you're capable, you should try making sure to be at the Colosseum when that time of the month hits. I tend to be there to take out monsters, and all and any help keeps the citizens safe. [Okay, that grin is so pure and good that it's almost frightening. Sora is a really cute kid. He'll do well here.] Tyki. Tyki Mikk. I'm already in your contacts, if you have any questions you think up later.

Do we benefit from them other than living here? [That sounds like a bad trade, really.] If this happens every month, I'll be there. They shouldn't bring people in who can't fight back. I can handle it. [It's not hard to remember a name like that, at least.]
[There's a pause though because "what contacts" is on the tip of his tongue. He's figured out how to pull up the guide. That doesn't mean he's really had time to click through and figure out the rest.] I've never really had a phone before, but it can't be that hard to figure out how to get to that list. I'll keep that in mind.

Tyki can't think of anything beneficial about the gods, save for their ability to resurrect. And even then, it would be unnecessary if they weren't put in dangerous situations because of them.] The only benefits are their resurrection power, and supposed assistance in getting us home. And so far, I've no proof they're honest in that regard personally. [To Tyki, it sounds imprisonment. But he's also someone who's not used to his family's immense power being caged in any real way.] Lad, I think they do it on purpose. What causes more fear than someone running for their life, under attack? I could be wrong, and I hope I am, but it just seems too coincidental that the door brings such tasty people in to the city at the same time it drags in monsters.
[He doesn't want to dwell on that, though.] They're useful things. If you have trouble though, almost anyone will help you with it. But if you're clever, you'll figure it out just fine.

Sooo nothing that we can actually see so far. [That sounds about right.] When you put it that way, it does seem kind of like the whole thing's on purpose just so they can feed. That doesn't sound good at all.
[Or fair? And now Sora's wondering what the gods are playing at here.] If I'm really here for a while, then I'll see for myself soon enough. Maybe get some answers that way.
[Ever the optimist. On the other hand...he just scratches his cheek and laughs again.] I'm sure I'll figure it out one way or another. How hard can it be? It's just those functions, right? [Man he hopes so.]

That's right. [Tyki nods.] I could be wrong, as I said. But this is honestly how it seems. There's little reason to trust any of the forces behind this place. So being careful is the best bet regardless.
[He doesn't even pretend to understand the machinations of false deities. He's one of the literal creations of the true god of his home world, he doesn't have time for this sort of semi-religious nonsense.] If you get some answers, good. Share them with the people here, compare information. It keeps us all safe.
[Tyki really isn't worried about the phone business. It's really a minor thing in the end.] That's right. You'll get it. [If not, Tyki gave Riku at least a basic lesson so between the two of them they know a couple of things.]

With that said, Sora pushes himself off the bench to stand.]
I should get going then to see what else is around. Thanks again. [And Sora remains none the wiser that Tyki Mikk is actually Not a Great Person.]
