Intro Log: Ugh, Talk to the Hand

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for February
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: February 10th-14th
Warnings: None

Welcome to Hadriel. Your first glimpse of your new home is maybe not the most welcome - you awaken on the floor of the colosseum, surrounded by sand and walls and... trees? Yes, trees. Along with you and the other newcomers, a number of Territorial Oaks have arrived in Hadriel. They look just like normal trees, except for those welcoming smiles - oh, and they don't like you at all. They move fast, hit hard, and if you manage to bring one down it'll go out in a large, dangerous explosion. This may have you rethinking your stance on clear-cutting.

While you're trying to avoid the trees, you might come across a few of the other things the Door has deposited in the colosseum for your (its?) entertainment. Namely, a bunch of toys that no one has played with in years. But maybe one of them will tickle your fancy?

Once you've finished indulging your 90's nostalgia, feel free to look around. You can explore the rest of the city! Find a house, a new monster, a project to help with, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers February 10th-14th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

[Why? There are a hundred reasons why. Hundreds of reasons why Noctis has always been placed above all of them when it comes to the importance of preserving his life. So many reasons, but now isn't the time for that fight. Ignis is certain they'd both come out on the losing side if he tried to start it.

So, he says nothing, but he stops to pull Noctis to him, wrapping both arms around him tightly. Six know he's not often one for that depth of physical affection, but at this moment it feels they both need it.

The depth of regret, for both of them, is something that neither of them would ever have the words to express.

So am I.

[ Wait, what?

As much as he appreciates just having Ignis with him again, and surprised at just how easily Ignis embraces him -- they don't do that much, but this time feels different. This time, Ignis seems... sadder, almost. Or maybe it's just his imagination; Noctis isn't the best judge of moods when he's reeling from the truth of Ignis' future injuries.

He frowns, buried in his shirt but he hugs him right back, squeezing him very gingerly because he's very aware that some injuries haven't healed right up yet. ]

Sorry? For what?

[He doesn't do this very much at all, but right now, while he's still exhausted and so weak to the mixed emotional toll of seeing Noctis unconscious on the ground in front of him and having him here, whole and well, it feels like the best thing he can possibly do. If nothing else, it reassures him still further that his friend is truly there.]

For...

[For failing him. For not being able to stop the inevitable. For knowing that despite everything and despite all they do, everything they give up, Noctis is destined to die for Eos and none of them can stop it.

He lets Noct go and lightly squeezes his shoulders.
]

For not getting there sooner. Lunafreya... I could have done something. For both of you.

[ Noctis is silent for a long moment as he studies him. It must've been a shock to Ignis, too -- he's come so fresh from that battle, and it makes his heart ache that he would think of him and Luna first, and he swallows hard.

So she must have died, too, in his timeline. He couldn't save her -- ]

It's not your fault.

[ He says softly at last, his gaze fixed to the ground briefly before he looks back up at him again, marshalling his own dignity, his strength. ]

I mean... you did more than enough.

[It's simply his upbringing. Ignis so rarely thinks of himself first, and it's only been in Hadriel that he's begun to do so at all. Right now, still fresh from the events of home, it doesn't occur to him that he might have done anything else.]

We may have to agree to disagree on that account, Noct.

[And they can argue about it later, but not right now.]

Right now, I think it's best I see a doctor.
