What: The intro log for July.
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-15th
Warnings: Deathclaws. That's all you really need to know.
As usual, the new arrivals in Hadriel will be waking up on the dirt ground of the colosseum, and as usual, they won't be waking up alone. This month brings coat hangers of all shapes and, uh, sizes strewn about the colloseum floor around all of the new arrivals.
Get up, get out, meet and greet, find some new exciting interior decorating options, but don't forget about the more prominent threat: the (newly) local deathclaws roaming about in the inner halls of the arena. These deathclaws are vicious bipedal creatures with long arms ending in curved talons, horns ripe for goring and, of course, teeth as long as fingers. These animals have been engineered to be as deadly as they can possibly be, so you might want to buddy up before taking one on.
Have you escaped from the deathclaws? Made a few friends? Not died horribly? Great! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers July 10th-15th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Sounds like nowhere is nice - or safe. [ Figures. ... He nods, and hey, he even tries to give the child a small smile. ]
Thank you for telling me all of this. Have you been here long?

[Rey too, from what he has gathered, but since he's not allowed to call her his mother anymore he isn't sure what he would refer to her by. There are a number of other people whom he knows to have been here longer than he has, but the point that he meant to make was that people can stay here for longer, and that the source from which he has this information is one that he trusts.]
And there are safe places. Most of the time, everything that has been fixed up is safe. And if things are bad, the temples are still safe.
[Probably. At least that was true last month, and he assumes that it would be repeated in the future.]
But the temples are not very nice so you should not go there if you don't need to.

Right. Because they make you feel things you don't actually feel. Magic?

[The two are not that different, in his opinion, just that you need more additional equipment for science than for magic most of the time. It's just knowing how to utilize what is there and where to push for it to get moving, and to most people both are very mysterious.]
oh my word the days got away from me, i'm sorry!
Hm. I haven't known gods to use science when magic suits them far more.
[ It's a curious thought, though. ]
no worries, I can backtag forever
[He doesn't necessarily believe it, but if that is true, then the door being based in science and not magic might even explain some why the gods can't fix it. Though it is just as likely that they don't want to fix it, even if the door could be fixed or even was theirs.]

[ Admittedly, Kougaiji is curious about their intentions - and whatever motive lies behind all of this in the first place. But above all else, he's going to be wondering for a while if there are ways to get the door to work the other way... ]
no subject
[He doesn't sound particularly bothered by that. Because he isn't. He's with family here so it is nice, family that he wouldn't have back home, and if this place is like the others no time passes back home, so he's not missing anything there.]
