Intro Log: Death Comes

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for July.
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: July 10th-15th
Warnings: Deathclaws. That's all you really need to know.

As usual, the new arrivals in Hadriel will be waking up on the dirt ground of the colosseum, and as usual, they won't be waking up alone. This month brings coat hangers of all shapes and, uh, sizes strewn about the colloseum floor around all of the new arrivals.

Get up, get out, meet and greet, find some new exciting interior decorating options, but don't forget about the more prominent threat: the (newly) local deathclaws roaming about in the inner halls of the arena. These deathclaws are vicious bipedal creatures with long arms ending in curved talons, horns ripe for goring and, of course, teeth as long as fingers. These animals have been engineered to be as deadly as they can possibly be, so you might want to buddy up before taking one on.

Have you escaped from the deathclaws? Made a few friends? Not died horribly? Great! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

[....okay, he's got no idea what you mean by "a couple of them were me," and that sounds like a headache and a half to explain, so Ichigo's just gonna let that one go until he needs to understand it. It doesn't seem like the most important detail anyway, especially when there are so many bigger questions that need to get answered.]

D'you think that's what's happening now?

[Bro, it is just as wacky as it sounds, and Souji knows that. He's slightly relieved that Ichigo doesn't press for an explanation just yet.]

I don't know ... we weren't given any instructions on what to do. [So that part fits, with waking up to no explanation.] But when you were taken to these places, you're either yourself, and you know that you're Traveling because of the Trumps, or you're given someone else's memories, and you remember being part of that place.

[He's experienced both. Souji gives Ichigo a sober glance.]

You're not from here, and you don't know the Trumps.

[He shrugs.]

[Shit. That sounds like a whole lot of mind-screwing and it's another can of worms Ichigo decides to leave shut. He pulls the relevant information out instead:]

So it's got to be something else.

[Hm. Ichigo looks around them, thinking.]

Those are doors over there, right? It doesn't look like anything's blocking our way out, so let's get out of here and find someone who can give us answers.

[Souji nods.]

Must be.

[And that's a compounded can of worms, because if Souji is no longer Traveling, does that mean the Fleet wasn't another Jaunt after all? Is this what his life is going to be from now on - different forces tugging him in all directions?

Well, Ichigo's idea is a good one. Souji gives him another silent nod and starts off in the direction indicated.]
