Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!
But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.
Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Jesus, fuck.
( Hannah, please. You're crushing her. She's hugging back at least, and trying to right herself a little so that she's sitting up a little more. For a moment Beth just sits there, arms wrapped tightly back around her sister. She's dead. Oh god, she knows it. She'd died before getting here, and maybe she could have accepted that but fuck. Hannah too? She'd tried to save her - save them both, and instead they'd fallen. Died. Both of them. What would happen to Josh? Their friends would probably get over it but their parents. Josh.
Fuck. Why did it have to be Hannah too? Why couldn't Hannah have survived? )
What the fuck is this place?
( But that's a stupid question. They're dead. She knows what this is, but part of her is hoping that Hannah will give her some other answer )
i dare
Her stomach flops tumultuously at the thought and she backs off again, now almost afraid to hug her sister, as if she doesn't deserve that comfort. ]
You're okay. [ She says, breathless, though she herself looks far from it. ] We're... We're okay.
[ For now. As long as they're in this place. Hannah swallows hard and begins trying to help the other to her feet, knowing they'll be better off - and safer - inn the house than here. ]
I can explain, but not right here. [ Comes the half-whisper. Her eyes finally settle on the little, green... thing, and she frowns, fear prickly at her insides. It's... a little cute, admittedly, but probably not anything they want to be near, knowing what she knows about Hadriel. ]
I promise everything is fine; I'll tell you everything. [ No. No, she won't. ] You just have to trust me.
[ The words are sour in her mouth. How the fuck can I ask that of her, after-- ]
rude af
Okay. I do.
( It doesn't need to be said - there's a bond between them that could never be broken but it's one of those moments where the reassurance helps, even if it's only helping Beth )
Where do we go?
no subject
We should be... okay now. [ She says after a while, slowing to a walk, catching her breath. She hasn't released Beth's hand, though, as if she's afraid doing so will take her sister from her. ] I think we should still, um... wait to talk until we get to the place where we're staying, but...
[ But, for now, they're not in as much danger. Hannah thinks that word (danger) and it sends up alarms in her head; she glances hurriedly at her twin. ]
Are you okay? I mean - Do you feel alright?
no subject
( She's fine. Confused but fine - she's not hurt, and probably actually in a better state than she would have been if her body had been at home. She's okay )
I'm just confused. But I can wait till we get there.
( Hannah knows this place, somehow. She's letting her sister lead, and as much as she wants the answers she'd feel better when they were inside. When she could just talk to her sister )
no subject
[ Beth has always been more level-headed. ]
Here. [ Before long, they're at the house, and she leads them inside. It doesn't sound like anybody's around, but she doesn't announce her presence before heading into the room she'd been occupying alone. ]
Okay. So, um... [ Fuck, she doesn't want to ask, but: ] What's the last thing you remember? From - before?
no subject
I- ( She starts, then stops, realising that she can't tell Hannah what she really remembers. She can't tell her that she fell - that she wasn't strong enough to save them. That she's dead, in case Hannah isn't. But Hannah would know that. Unless she hasn't realised yet. Unless when they'd fallen she was unconscious. Beth doesn't know, and even though there's a good chance that Hannah does- she's asking what she remembers )
I was looking for you, on the mountain.
( She'd found her, and Beth would give her that. She'd found her, maybe even that they'd ran, but she'd stop before them falling )
no subject
[ After that... fuck. ]
Is that it? Then you showed up here?
[ Please, let that be it. She can't bear for Beth to know what happened to her - to them - and what Hannah had to do to survive... ]
no subject
( No. She knows more - knows how they were found by something, and that man. How one ran them off the mountain, and the other tried to save them. If only that had been possible )
I thought we were safe. Are we safe?
( Now. Are they safe now )
no subject
[ They've shared rooms before, of course: countless times. Somehow, though, this feels different. ]
no subject
( She gives Hannah a brief smile to reassure her, reaching out to take one of her sister's hands )
We're okay. That's what matters.
( Sure she probably had a lot to learn about this place but they were okay. For now that was all she cared about )
