Intro Log: Don't Wake Tonberry

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Oh-- I didn't mean-- [Faith pouts a little.] I'd never want to hurt 'em. Just thought, I dunno, maybe they're trained to fight? Sorry!

[Honestly, she'd never dream of hurting them. They're big and all, but that's no reason to send them into a fight they might not win.

Looking back at the tonberry, Faith listens to the woman speak. Leaving sounds like a good idea, really. If anyone runs into one of the little things, they can just walk away and be fine.] Good plan.

[And then, the sudden change in the woman's face and voice draw Faith's attentioon back to her.

Oh, Faith likes her. Likes her style, her honesty, and her protective instincts towards her pets.

She returns the smile, though Faith's is all brightness.] My name is Faith! Nice to meet you and your sweeties. Mm, Hadriel, is it! Appreciate the warning. Sounds like you've been here a while. Shall we go, then?

They were trained to obey every passing whim of a cackling psychopath. I try and do better by them, poor babies.

[She may have her psychopath days, but she rarely cackles. Bianca has class, okay.

She relents a little in the face of Faith's contrition.]

We do sometimes hunt monsters for meat in the caves. But I doubt these things are worth cooking. Why don't I show you the bar?

['Poor babies' is right. Faith's pout intensifies.] Oh that's awful, the little dears.

[Yes. 'Little.'

Faith's eyes light up at the offer.]

There's a bar? Yeh, let's go! These little beasts seem like they'd be too tough to chew. What are your pets' names, by the way?

Bud and Lou. They're absolute darlings. I'm so glad they came with me. And yes - if there were a sun here, I feel it would definitely be over any hypothetical yardarms.

Hello, Bud and Lou! [She waves at them, smiling from ear to ear. Dogs (and most animals, really) are one of Faith's weaknesses. And since Bianca is so keen on making sure they don't get hurt, Faith likes her pretty much right away. You can never trust a person who's mean to animals.

She's more than happy to have a drink with Bianca, Bud, and Lou. What a good welcome to wherever this is!]
