Intro Log: Don't Wake Tonberry

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

"I suppose I should, shouldn't I? For as long as I'm here, at least." Before he got jerked along to yet another world. "That sounds like the ones I've met." His heart aches sharply for a moment Yes, it sounded a lot like Eliana, like something she would have said.

"Cecily would like if you did." A pause then, before he continued. "I would like if you did." Maybe that was selfish, wanting them to stay here where they got hurt, but at least he wasn't alone.

"Well, with both of you urging me to help, how can I possibly refuse?" Even if Cecily had yet to ask him. She was the Inquisitor and, while he was reserving his complete and utter loyalty until he had actually met her, Cole had been, in a very strange and roundabout way, a rather good judge of character.

He couldn't exactly say that he wasn't happy to hear that, and yet he felt a twinge of guilt for wanting to keep the man here with him. He could help him better if he knew where he was, but at the same time, it was probably better if he was at home in Thedas where he knew the world.

"Thank you. That will help."

"Good. Do you remember who your Inquisitor was? The one that you met in Thedas?" In other words, not Cecily. Dorian was perpetually curious about the various realities that everyone had come from, and this was the first Cole he had met, so he was curious how his world was different from Dorian's own, or any of the others that he had been told of. Before he'd lost his notes there had been nearly a dozen.

"Yes." He'd likely never forget her. At least, he didn't want to. Those were memories that were precious to him, so he kept them closer than he held the others, the ones that tangled and tied him down. She would never have allowed that.

"Hey name was Morenna. Is Morenna. She's an elf. She healed, she helped and she let me help too. She made me more so I could hear, unbowed, unbroken, unbound."

"Morenna Lavellan." Female, Dalish, probable mage, his brain filled in lines and checked off boxes. "Unbound you said..." The words sounded familiar, like the ones his Cole had said. "She helped you be more human? Is she a mage?" Mahanon had been a mage, the Inquisitor he had met in Arda. He wondered what other questions he could get Cole to answer. Or at least, which answers he would get that he would be able to understand what the young man meant.

"Yes. But I'm not a person." Varric hadn't liked that. Solas was happier, but they both eventually learned to at least live with the decision. "She made me more me so I could hear and help more. The little hurts I wouldn't have noticed, the small secrets that are better spoken. I can hear and heal and help them all."

Ah, so not like his Cole. That was the problem with talking to someone who spoke in, not riddles, but like words were paint and there was a picture that one was making with them, so the individual strokes didn't matter quite so much.

"I see. And that makes you happier?" Did he even think of it that way? Dorian wasn't sure really, his Cole seemed to be getting the hang of it, and even then most of what he was happy about seemed to hinge on how he had made other people feel.

"Yes. I can hear more, heal more, help more." What would have happened had he been more of a person, though, he really couldn't say. He would still help people, but it would have been harder without the hearing. Maybe that didn't matter, but he couldn't remember ever being a person. He'd let that part of him go.
