Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!
But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.
Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

Oh my. You are a large, fluffy one, aren't you?
[With a mind that he's delving into as well, but he's hardly going to mention that straight off.]
It is what some here call a phone. You may use it to show your face to everyone else with this button here. Or only use your voice. Or you may write out a response. The choice is yours. There is also several other features that some others have created for it, though I hardly use them myself. [Ushahin isn't exactly an emojis type of guy.]
no subject
I know what it does.
[Still, it's hard for her to manage it with her big hands and it's far below the level of technology she's used to, so she watches him closely.
Her mind isn't human, and may be odd to delve into just because of what she is. Her form is a physical manifestation of light created by the gem on her face. Right now, her thoughts are full of anger and frustration, at this place and at herself.]
no subject
Well, there you go then. Would you like a piece of advice? [He'll give it whether she wants him to or not.] Forget what has come before and don't dwell on the past. It shall make the transition to this new place easier.
no subject
The idea of forgetting her past and just living in this place, if that's really what he's inferring, is completely beyond her. She doesn't want to make this "transition".]
I think you should keep your "advice" to yourself.
[The words come out in a growl.]
no subject
[He hears that frequently and has yet to heed the warning once. Someday, it'll be to his detriment. He looks off to the side.]
Ah, Tanaros! You would have liked this one.
[Doesn't everyone talk to their dead family? No? Well, he's doing it anyway.]
no subject
Who are you even talking to?
[Maybe a better question would be why she's still wasting her time talking to him.]
no subject
[Ushahin himself is a very odd one, his thoughts never quite his own and usually tainted by madness. The fact she's managed to go this long in a conversation with him is a triumph.]
Someone who is dead. He has yet to answer back, but I have hope.
[Ghosts have been known to rise in his own world, and considering what the gods are capable of here, who knows what could happen next?]
no subject
[If only. If only.]
[She's beginning to think this one might not be all there.]
no subject
Maybe not where you're from, but things are far different where I come from.
[He's seen far too much to discount the idea that he might see the dead rise up. However, Jasper's idea that he's a bit insane also holds some merit. Madness is a comfort to this one. He keeps it close to him.]
no subject
[And it started getting on her nerves a long time ago. She hates being so confused and in the dark and the feeling isn't likely to go away any time soon.]
You could just be nuts, though.
no subject
That, my dear, is definitely true.
no subject
Why am I even still having this conversation?
[She needs to find something else to keep her occupied.]
no subject
Your tolerance level for insanity must be higher than you think it is.
[Most people usually give up on him long before they reach this point in the conversation. He's a difficult one to grasp a hold of.]
no subject
[Given all she's had to deal with over five and a half thousand years, she has no doubt about that. Though even after all that time it's still the most recent issues that have had the most effect.
Though if she lived in a completely sane environment she'd probably get bored out of her mind. There were many times working back with the gems on Homeworld that she did.]
We'll go with that.
no subject
[He pats her on the hand, seeming completely oblivious to the fact of how she could probably snap his frail form like a twig.]
You shall do fine here, for it is hardly ever sane.
no subject
I'm sure.
no subject
[Having his wrist grabbed makes Ushahin look up, a faint look of surprise stamped across his features. Then back down at the giant orange fist that's engulfing his wrist. Then back up once more.]
Let me go. [For the first time, his soft voice holds an undercurrent of steel. Ushahin is not one to let brute strength overwhelm him. He has his own talents and can make someone severely regret it if they fail to do as he wishes.]
no subject
Keep your hands to yourself.
[But she does let him go, since she has no reason to mess with him otherwise. He's just some other strange occupant of this dull cave system.]
no subject
I shall note that.
no subject
[Foolish little human-like people, thinking she actually wants to be friendly with any of them.]
Do you actually have anything helpful to say?
no subject
Only this: relax a little. There will be plenty of time for fighting later.
[Another piece of advice she probably won't listen to, but it's better to try than to stay silent.]
no subject
[She hates people who tell her to relax. She'll relax when she doesn't have anything to accomplish, and this isn't one of those moments.]
no subject
[As for what he thinks of that train of thought, he'll keep to himself. No need for her to try and intimidate him with brute strength again.]
I shall leave you to find your own way then, Jasper.
[Never mind that neither of them has actually introduced themselves during this rather bizarre conversation.]
no subject
What she does do is sneer and turn away from the man in a huff.
Back on Homeworld she usually had known best. None of the rules are the same anymore.]
