Intro Log: Don't Wake Tonberry

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

I'm a gem.

[She's already told this to people numerous times, but no one else is familiar with the actual species. Still, she only gives that to start. Jasper's not a fan of going into repetitive detailed descriptions of what she is.]

[ Ah. Feldspar might find that interesting considering that's what he was created from. Misto and Reyson were born of the earth, too, but she's not sure what they were made of. Interesting. ]

Neat! Do you have like super cool special powers? [ She considers not asking questions might be best, but she's admittedly genuinely curious now. The Colosseum probably isn't the best place for small talk though... ]

["Super cool special powers?" She makes it sound so ridiculous. Jasper can't help but grimace.]

Compared to a human, yeah. Normal for a gem.

[She keeps her eyes on those annoying little green things.]

I hope you don't mind if I don't explain all my moves to you.

Psht, not at all! You gotta have some secrets, right? Some surprise moves up your sleeve? I get it, totally.

[ Despite her cheery demeanor, Rose hasn't let the tonberries go unnoticed. They're dangerous despite their looks and she'd be a fool to let one sneak up on her. ]

Well, you're probably wanting to get on your way, so...

[ Time to exit stage left, perhaps? ]

You're just going to walk off after all that? At least make yourself useful.

[Jasper isn't looking for company, but she also insists on being taken seriously. She doesn't like the idea of this girl wandering in here, cheerfully greeting her and then sauntering off like this is nothing. (Especially after the gem had made a fool of herself.]

I need directions to anywhere more important than this place or any information on how to get back to where I was.

[Not help with the tonberries, though. She wouldn't ask for help in a fight and frankly these little green things should be beneath her.]

[ Ah, well, that is something she can do. And she does it, like with everything else, with gusto. ]

You got it! But first thing since I don't really believe in sugar coating anymore, uhm. There is no way back. Yet! We're working on it. Still, I can help you get out of this Colosseum and to where most of us are staying if you'd like.

[ If not, Rose can merely guide her out of the Colosseum at least then let her figure out where to go on her own. ]

[No way back? She doesn't believe that. If there's a way here then there's a way back. It's as simple as that. They might not have the technology for it, but it has to exist somewhere. For now, she'll accept the route out of this particular set up.]
