Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!
But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.
Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers September 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

So if it's a power thing, who let them have the power in the first place? [He kicks a rock, watching it skid toward a temple and bump against a wall.] This place is ripe for an uprising of the proletariat.
no subject
[Sure would be nice if there were. Adam is not the sort to dream of revolution, though - too cautious. Likely they'd just end up in an even worse situation if they tried. So he is not particularly serious when he says:]
Maybe you can convince the people to revolt.
no subject
Yeah, that's not me. Looks like it's not you either. I'd guess that most people wouldn't give enough of a shit anyway. It's not like this is anyone's home.
no subject
[Maybe not all of them, but the vast majority. Adam is certainly one of them - he does not have the slightest desire to stay.]
We've made some improvements on what was here when we arrived, but it's in the service of survival, nothing more.
no subject
What about improvements to yourself? There has to be something you can take with you. Why stay here and not have anything to show for it?
[He's not sure when he asks if he means in general or Adam specifically.]

[And now that he's thinking of it -]
I left and came back, and while I was home I didn't even remember this place.
no subject
I guess I thought that there would be at least some kind of benefit. Maybe if you acquire skills that have nothing to do with the gods they wouldn't be able to take them away. You couldn't remember how you you them, but suddenly you know Spanish and 20 ways to tie a rope.
[At least, that's what Richie would like to learn. His voice is far less confident than his words. He's halfway hoping for some kind of confirmation of that being a possibility from someone who has the experience, but he won't ask.]
no subject
[He actually wasn't home for long, so maybe he brought back some of the things he learned at the clinic and never knew. It's possible, but Adam sort of doubts it. Still, no reason to rain on this guy's parade.]
You could try it, anyway.
no subject
[His answer is slow, resigned but also resolute. This person has no reason to lie, and Richie would be stupid to discount learning from someone else's experience. He should probably get going, find something else that isn't temples that immediately piss him off. But something feels a little unfinished.]
Hey, um. Thanks. [Richie's gratitude is sincere but unfamiliar, he's not used to that word.]
no subject
Oh. Um, you're welcome. If you have any more questions, give me a call and I can try to answer them. My name's Adam Parrish.
no subject
[He nods in understanding, though not extending the same or a similar offer. Knowing the conversation is over but unsure of how exactly to proceed, Richie opens and closes both hands before turning to leave. As he walks away in long, lumbering steps, he bends a little at the waist and leads with his head.]
