Intro Log: Don't Wake Tonberry

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

"I do not want you to do that."

She looked back over at the door. "Where does it go?"

"I won't." He loves to go inside people's heads, and while he's curious, he doesn't have malicious intent. Whatever anger is inside of him has mostly been burnt out. "It leads to the rest of the city. There are shops, houses, and caves that hold monsters."

Monsters here, monsters there. Monsters everywhere.

"This is a very bad place, isn't it?"

[ushahin]

Ushahin shrugged with his crooked shoulders. Compared to what he's known before, this place is not so bad. But he can see why it would be so from an outsider's perspective. "It can be if you let it. But you will either grow used to it or succumb to despair." His eyes seem to look right through her as he goes on. "You seem strong to me. I think you will survive."

Helena was good at surviving. They made her get good. But she knows now that there is a difference between surviving and living. She doesn't want to lose what is precious to her.

"Will I see my sestras again?"

[ushahin]

His eyes looked kind as he gave her an honest answer. "I cannot say for certain, but there are many here who have had those from their world show up later on. If you wish to see if they will join you, come to the colosseum around this time every month. That is when the new arrivals always show up." It was the real reason he kept coming here month after month. A small part of him still kept hope that someone from Urulat would join him. Tanaros or Vorax, even maybe one of his madlings. To see them again would be the greatest delight he'd experienced here thus far.

Helena nods but at the same time thinks maybe it would be a bad thing, for one of them to be here. Maybe they should all stay away.

"I think I should go now." The little monsters were getting closer and Helena did not want to get cut.

[ushahin]

"Farewell." He would remain in the arena, interested in who else might turn up. Monsters didn't scare him. He had his mind to protect him from injuries. "I expect I shall see you again."

Helena turned and headed for the door, ready to face what was on the otherside ... or at least, she hoped she was ready.
