Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

Might as well have been.

[Once again, details she really doesn't want to go into. In fact she'd rather go on about the finer points of gems for hours than talk about what happened to her before she arrived. It's a very fresh, very sore subject.]

[Since he asked in the first place, Firo decides to offer a little bit of information himself. Maybe it'll put her at ease.]

Hey, I was just askin' 'cause that's where I was myself. People complain about it bein' a prison here, but not all of 'em actually know what that's like.

[The statement doesn't exactly help Jasper appreciate the company any more. She's sure their situations had been much different. If he'd been in prison then he'd been a criminal. Her own prison was only figurative. She'd felt trapped on Earth and had managed to leave it because she was stronger than those that hadn't.

At least that's what she'd told herself before.]

And what crime did you commit?

[Not exactly the reaction he was hoping for. He folds his arms and debates on how much of the truth he should tell.]

I made a deal with a jackass.

[It is true. Figures that the one time he gets locked up in a lifetime of bad deeds is for something he didn't actually do.]

[So perhaps less a criminal and more a fool. That might make him more relatable if he didn't seem so terribly human.

And of course he could be lying for the sake of pity. She has very little of that to give.]

Hmph. Then I suppose you consider this place a reprieve.

[He grimaces and shrugs one shoulder.]

Not exactly. It's nice to be able to move around more, but I had things to take care of back home.

Who doesn't?

[What she doesn't like to think about is the fact that she didn't know what she'd do if she was returned back to where she'd come from. She'd been corrupted, her gem trapped. She actually has more freedom here than she had there, but she isn't going to think about it that way. She can't.

This is just an opportunity to return cured, that's all.]

If we can be brought here, we can be brought back.

I’m hopin’ you’re right about that. So far it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be as easy to leave as it was to get here.
