Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

( oh. good. that's what he l o v e s to hear. monsters. they're real. at least it sounds like there's some organisation to this place. )

I didn't-- ( see anyone. couldn't find Em. that was particularly odd. she had been right there, with him. ) -- I don't think anyone else is here.

( because they couldn't have got here earlier, right? )

They might not be. A lot of people are here alone.

[And Adam isn't really the sort for gentle lies - it's better if Matt knows early on that he might have to make his way here alone.]

But a lot of my friends are here, so it's not impossible. Is there someone you'd look for?

[He finishes taping down the bandage and frowns at it. It'll do, at least for now. Matt won't bleed out, anyway.]

( Matt appreciates that. he tries to live an honest life himself. )

Em. ( the answer is immediately. ) Uh, Emily. My- ( well, they're going through a rough patch, but- ) -er, she's my girlfriend.

We were, like, just together. On the mountain. So I don't think she's here, you know?

[He has not personally met Emily, but he does keep an eye on the network, and she's on there a lot. Or at least - an Emily is.]

Is she friends with Chris?

[She and Chris are from the same world, right? Adam doesn't know much about the details.]

( yeah, they're common names. and as for friends... )

We know a Chris. ( a pause. friends is about right. they're probably not the closest in the group, but it's a big group. ) Glasses, blond hair?

( although, he was just on the mountain too, so Matt doubts he's here either. )

Yeah, that's him.

[Adam is maybe less surprised than he should be. He's noticed that when one person from a particular place - world, whatever - is here, it seems like there's more of a chance that others will be, too. Groups are more common than he'd expect.]

So the Emily that's his friend is probably the one you're talking about. I mean, unless he's found a new one.

( he blinks for a moment, tries to let that sink in because he had definitely just been with them both. so- )

I was just with them. ( that makes no sense, but neither does turning up here, so after a brief pause: ) Can that, like, happen?

Sure. Time gets weird when you come here. People can get brought in from different points along the timeline.

[He shrugs. It's honestly pretty confusing and sort of hard to believe. It'll probably make more sense to Matt once he actually finds his friends.]

I can direct you to their house.

( that might not be a bad idea. )

Sure, that'd be great, thanks.

( whether he'll get there before Emily finds him is another story. )

[He gives Matt directions, Hadriel-style. Given the lack of street signs on most streets, that means a lot of 'then turn right at the building with half its wall gone' and 'take the street that has less rubble on it'. But the directions are reasonably solid, even so. Adam's been here for awhile and knows his way around.]
