Intro Log: Don't Wake Tonberry

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for September
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: September 10th-13th
Warnings: Cute monsters, a way to pass the time, and plenty of newbies!

Waking up in Hadriel certainly has its down sides, but if this weird murdercave city is good at one thing, it's keeping people entertained. As you awaken on the hard ground of the colosseum, you might see a rectangular cardboard box lying near you. Ignore it for now, as you get your bearings, but if you get bored? Well, you'll find these exciting and unique board games will keep you entertained!

But how could you possibly get bored, when there are plenty of cute monsters around to keep you company? Sharing the colosseum with all the new arrivals are Tonberries. In addition to their natural cuteness defense, they also carry very large knives. They're slow-moving and look innocent and even friendly, but be careful - one strike from that knife and you'll be a bloody mess. They won't attack unless you get too close, but who doesn't want to hug a Tonberry? And of course, if you attack, they'll counter with extreme prejudice.

Managed to resist the urge to hug a Tonberry? Safely escaped from the clutches of the colosseum, new board game in tow? Awesome! Feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies. Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!

( It's when Matt's coming back from the bathroom that Beth finds him, coming up the stairs to go to Hannah's room - their room. She didn't even know that he was here, although - as she'll later find out - since Emily was holding him hostage in her room it's not really a surprise that she didn't know.

What is a surprise is what Matt's dressed in. Or more appropriately what he's not dressed in. Seeing one of her friends crossing the hall just in his boxers is so not what she expected to see today. Or wanted to see. Sorry )

Matt?

( And then, after a few seconds realising that yes, it is him, and then that yes, he is only in his boxers, Beth holds her hand up in front of her eyes, making sure that she's safely away from the top of the stairs as she does )

When did you get here?

( Because no one mentioned it!!! )

Just- Ah. ( hold up he's trying to find a way to cover himself. ) A few hours ago.

( YES LET'S MAKE CASUAL CONVERSATION WHILE HE'S MOSTLY NAKED YEP. )

Yeah, I- ( She risks a peek under her hand, and then covers her eyes again. He's definitely trying but those hands are possibly slightly more awkward inducing ) -not long. Hannah found me. She didn't say you were here.

( But then again he'd only been here a few hours. Hannah couldn't have told her )

I guess she didn't know.

( Three guesses at what she thinks you've been doing in that underwear )

( maybe he should just run to the bedroom and get dressed. that's a good plan, let's do that.

what she thinks? is pretty accurate. he tries to laugh as he ducks behind the door and gets his clothes from the floor, but it's hard to keep things light and it comes out more forced than anything. )

Yeah, ah. I just got here, too. ( and Emily hasn't let him go since. ) Em found me.

( When Beth hears the door, and sees him disappear for a minute she finally lowers her hand, glad that someone had a sensible idea )

That'd be why.

( Totally not going to think about what they've been doing nope )

It's weird how many of us are here.

( How many of you not dead friends are there )

Yeah, it's... ( really, really weird. weirder still, with how long Em and Chris have been here. ) I don't really get why we're all here.

( why two people presumed dead are here, but... let's not say that. )

Hannah made it sound like they were fucking with us.

( The 'gods', not anything like the prank on Hannah. It was worse. Monsters, fear. What the fuck else were you supposed to think? )

( so basically, their life: the sequel. monsters, people fucking about. )

Don't they have something better to do?

We wouldn't be here if they did.

( She hopes. Or at least Matt wouldn't be there, right? )

( he sighs, pulls his head to one side in a nod that acknowledges that fact. what a great day so far. the best. ) So not what I'd do with unlimited power.

( There's an expression that's at first a frown but changes into a smile )

What would you do?

( you know, he hasn't thought about it, but not this.

so there's a sigh, a pause, he drums his fingers against his palm for a moment before answering: ) Make sure the Rams win next season. ( he offers a lopsided grin and is entirely serious about that all the same. )
