If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.
Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!
But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.
New, as of October's intro log is a Newcomer's guide that installs itself by default on every activated phone. Thanks, Mello!
Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

and then they stop watching, breathing going quiet and leaving them to the distant roar and furious wing beats of the dragons outside. It's dangerous out there, they know; Sans had said as much. What'd your partner say about that?
It's so
Frustrating.]
...I can leave.
no subject
... N-No, you don't. You don't have to. It's not, uhm, it's n-not safe out there. I wouldn't want you to get h-hurt.
[Which is true. She wouldn't. The last thing she'd want is someone to get eaten by a dragon. Even them.]
You, uhm, y-you can stay. You don't need to worry, uh, a-about me.
no subject
[Okay to staying, not- not worrying about her. They don't think that a few stammered out words can stop that much, but Frisk also thinks that maybe, she doesn't really want them to.
Maybe she doesn't want them to do anything at all.
Leaning back, they draw their knees up to their chin, hands loosely clasped across their shins.]
...What did I do?
no subject
... You d-don't remember?
[Or... are their worlds more different than she suspected? Are they even the human she knew? They look exactly the same. But perhaps this ran deeper...]
no subject
[A shrug, stilted, almost. Maybe just the slightest bit self-deprecating, though it's hard to pick up with the way their expression...never changes. This would probably be their cue to uh... emote. At all.]
Sans and Papyrus don't remember the same things, so...I guess you don't, either.
[Especially since she's already scared of them.]
no subject
[It sounds less like a word and more like an exhale, with just enough intent behind it to make it sound like a word. That's... confusing. Scary.
The thought of it, for a moment, makes her feel incredibly, incredibly small. And like she had done something very, very cowardly.]
I h-had watched you on, uhm, the screens, making friends with Papyrus, and Undyne, so I thought, uh, maybe if I helped you through Hotland, we could be f-friends, too? But then it, uhm, it...
[But then Mettaton decided on his own plans. But then she lost control like she always did.]
Mettaton d-decided he was going to attack you for, uhm, for real, and... I couldn't g-get there in time. But, uhm, I mean, you were j-just defending yourself! And I can, I mean, he's just a robot, so, uhm, it's okay...
[The lies weigh heavy in her throat, on her tongue. It hurts. It all hurts.]
And then you... l-left. I told you, that, I had l-lied about getting through the barrier, and you'd have to fight Asgore, and... h-he died. And you left.
[And in one day she lost two of the people closest to her.]
no subject
But they suppose that wouldn't make any difference, would it? They never killed Asgore. They've killed practically everyone else.
Her lie weighs heavy on their shoulders; another secret. Another thing they're not supposed to know. It wouldn't really make a difference.]
Okay.
[That's it. Just okay, as if she'd understand the general implication and play on words they apparently have going on with Sans- that it's not actually okay and it might never be, probably won't.
If they were her, they wouldn't want to sit next to them, either.]
Sorry.
no subject
It's... it's o-okay. It's not your fault. I'm the one who, w-who lied to you and asked him to play the villain... neither of you should've been in the p-position I put you in.
[Because she knew humans were dangerous, because monsters have died to human hands since the war, from other fallen children in other lifetimes. And she still thought to put him in front of them. As if her protection would be safety. As if she didn't ruin everything she touched. As if her legacy wasn't that of a fate worse than death.]
You were defending yourself. You needed to g-go home.
no subject
[Quiet, and gentle. They don't seek to refute her words, but they don't really- acknowledge them. At all.
If things were different, this is where they'd pat her shoulder. Because she'd watched it all, right? Their fights, their friendships. And watching someone on a screen, it... it really makes you root for them, doesn't it?
She doesn't have to feel bad because they let her down.]
You just wanted me to be a good person.
[Suffice to say
they're not.]
no subject
I s-set you both up for catastrophe. I created problems that weren't t-there. If you were, really terrible, you'd have just... n-not dealt with me, or, cut me down when we met. You just... wanted to l-live. I can't fault you for that.
[Can't fault them for someone being strong enough to stand up for their own damn life.]
I'm sorry that I made it s-so difficult. That you had to do that, to, t-to save yourself.
no subject
But it's better not to be. Just like Sans, Alphys is better off...thinking about things like she already is. It doesn't mean things are okay, and it doesn't fix anything at all- but it could, and would, be so much worse. She doesn't deserve to have to deal with the truth.]
I could've done better. [Is all they have instead; and it's honest, but she won't believe them. They know she won't- but repetition...repetition gets through eventually.
They've got plenty of experience in that.] I don't blame you.
...Hey. Um.
[All of this talking is-
It's not comfortable at all.]
Do you think we can still watch Mew Mew Kissy Cutie, one day?
no subject
They're giving her another chance. One she doesn't deserve. But they're doing it, anyway.
Despite herself, she smiles.]
Yeah. I'd r-really like that. It's too bad, uhm, my DVDs didn't e-end up down here with me, huh?
... M-Maybe we'll find them, one day, or... you know. You never know.
no subject
Even though she's watched them murder people.
Her best friend.]
I'd like that too. [A gentle smile, right back. It's not okay; it's just okay. The same way Sans is okay when they ask about him, the same way they're alright when he asks in turn. It's the potential to be okay that makes it okay, not actually being...
Monsters are weird.]
I bet we can find a whole bunch we've never seen before.
no subject
[She'd like this to be normal. She'd love for them to be the friends she wanted them to be when they fell. She wishes she could go back, change the outcome, fix it to something better where she wasn't a liar, and a fake, and a disaster. Where she didn't force them into an impossible choice.]
no subject
[Scratch the fact that they've seen very little anime as it is; hopefully, they could still find something new for Alphys, too. Something she could get excited over, even happy about, maybe? If they were lucky. If they were really good.
They'd bring the popcorn. Smile as best they could, and be the friend they probably should have been the first time, or at least the second.
That really would be nice.]
Um... it's not very safe here right now, but- maybe I can take you somewhere else?
[Somewhere she doesn't have to sit on the floor.]
no subject
As long as, uh, it's n-not an inconvenience or anything! I uh, don't r-really know my way around here yet.
