If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.
Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!
But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.

But seriously. This is, uh, categorically? Not goin' too well. Not goin' too well at all. And he knows maybe two people who've got any experience tackling massive lizardlike beasts, and he ain't really on the best of terms with them at the moment. He might not be spendin' his days crashed out on the kids' couch anymore, but after that needless expenditure of every scrap of energy he had available to him? Yeah, he ain't doin' so great, magic-wise. Not a lot of spare anything left to so much as blip himself somewhere safe where he can wait it out.
Meaning he's gotta shamble along on foot. The long way. The hard way. He looks pretty unconcerned for a guy who might be about to get plucked up for dragon chow at any moment, ambling along in search of a warehouse or a shop he can hunker down in until this whole thing blows over.
Anyone who feels like tearin' him a new one after his little stunt during Confusion's entrance into the city? Well they're, uh, they're pretty free too. He's not got a lot in the way of escape methods.]

Speaking of one of those unassuming sources, though... The gem sees a familiar bony figure skulking along the path ahead and immediately changes course to head toward him. With Confusion's influence having faded for now, there should be less chance of him tossing her around like a rag doll - unless he decides to do it on purpose.
If he's as powerful as he seemed, then her hulking form won't be as intimidating as it should be, but that doesn't mean she won't try anyway.]

Papyrus takes his job very seriously, you see.
The flap of leathery wings alerted him that something was just a tiny bit different from his own arrival. Flash forward a few seconds and he was hiding out in a shop to allow for a huge dragon to forget about him and go off in search of someone else to devour.
So, yeah. Papyrus is very aware of the dragon problem. It's kind of hard to miss.
But that only means he should be out and about all the more. Extra danger means extra danger to everyone, and Papyrus is meant to protect people! He takes his job!! Very seriously!!!
He keeps an eyesocket out for anyone who might find themselves caught outside, so perhaps it is not too surprising that he finds none other than his own brother walking a bit faster than his normal casual pace. The untrained eye might assume Sans looks downright unbothered. But Papyrus knows that is definitely Sans' own version of walking with purpose.
So yeah, Sans is also very aware of the dragon problem. It is, after all, kind of hard to miss.
Still, Papyrus doesn't think to be any more stealthy than his usual high volume when he calls out to him.]

Well, easiest way to choose is to pick the one closest to them, which just happens to be the purple one. Faith is ready to pout and complain (she shoulld fight the one shooting fire out of its mouth, because fire) when the purple one opens its mouth and shoots a beam of light down into the city. The buildings it hits disintegrates, and Faith hopes desperately that they were abandoned or empty ones.]
Come on, Kate! [Faith is already running for it, eyes glowing.] See if you can't find its weakness!

Honestly, for all that Camille plays it cool, she probably would be freaking out about suddenly waking up in a strange place. Especially when that strange place is a colosseum filled with semi-conscious individuals and four dragons. The dragons aren't really a problem. Dragons, as far as she's concerned, are just stuffy librarian types. Not a big deal.
She would be freaking out, if she hadn't had a sort of...dream about this place, one of those too-real dreams. She can remember the conversations she had, the descriptions of this place and how it works. And, welp! Looks like it was all real!
Seems she has a god or two to punch in the face.
So, there's a weird lady in the colosseum, and at first glance she's human. At second glance, she is absolutely not human. She's got a cow's tail, for one thing, and small goat horns sprouting from her hair. Her arms currently end in paws instead of hands, paws with very long claws.
"Gas station sushi!" She reaches down and grabs the bag off the ground. "What will they think of next? Oh, that's a hard flavor to get right, innit? You need that touch of norovirus, not easy, no, not without getting all your customers massively ill, to be sure!"
Of course, before too long, the dragons wake up and do their dragon-y thing, and Camille is forced to realize that oh, okay, these are not the dragons she's familiar with. She ends up with her back to a wall, wary gaze flicking between the black dragon perched overhead and the red dragon currently attacking people in the arena.
"Awful rude. Awful rude. Management will be hearing from me!"
She still has the bag of Gas Station Sushi chips.
The Streets
By now she has actually opened the bag and is munching the chips as she wanders the city.
Escaping dragons isn't too difficult when you can just turn into something small and sneak out through a hole in the wall. Big old humans make for much tastier meals, plus they seem to be preoccupied with the assorted brave souls trying to fight them.
Camille is just making her way through the city, frowning to herself and wondering what to do now. She remembers the "dream," and she's looked through her phone...seems the first thing to do is find a house, but how does one go about just claiming a house around here? She's not quite rude enough to just take over someone else's home.
At this point, Camille looks more like some kind of anthropomorphic cat, albeit a cat with ram horns.

Point is, this ridiculous bag of bones is just flopped over near one of the exits, like he was thinkin' maybe of payin' a visit to the newbies and then sunk down onto the ground because he got struck with an abrupt case of The Apathy and didn't see the point in continuing. Which is precisely what happened.
Point is, he didn't exactly make sure to drop into a snooze in a way that wouldn't lend himself to gettin' tripped over.

[ Cold, hard ground.
His bed's cheap, but isn't that bad. Uryuu wakes quickly, jolting into consciousness with tensing wariness, but is slow to move. He opens his eyes, noting the discarded plastic, the sounds of stirring around him, the faint pulses of their spirit pressures. The rough texture of the ground against his cheek, that his glasses sit slightly askew, the weight of his bag on his thigh.
He does not go to sleep wearing his school uniform or his packed satchel. He last remembers -- leaving school, the Handicrafts and Council activities finished for the day, the quick Hollow on the way to his apartment. An easy kill. He remembers dinner, leftover stew from the weekend. Everything standard. Nothing at all indicative of his.
His palm, then knuckles press as he sits up, then stands, raising his hand to adjusts his glasses, then scanning the ... arena? It looks like a coliseum. Is he meant to fight? Fat chance. Not on someone else's command. Intractability steels itself in his gut, but rather than head to the nearest person, he steps back, lining himself against a wall, in the shadows.
An unfamiliar weight in his pocket: a smartphone, strange only because it isn't the one in his other pocket, given by Urahara-san.
It takes Uryuu a few minutes to read the guide (his expression souring) then scour the contact list, finding two familiar faces which arch his eyebrows. Now, this: Uryuu concentrates.
If someone's got a lick of anything superhuman, they might see the flaring of bright, blinding spirit energy, thickening into ribbons that surge from the ground, fluttering around him. Uryuu's eyes narrow, his hand reaching, fingers grazing over the single red ribbon, then a... pink? The faintest suggestion of color. Hesitation there, a half-curl of his index beneath it.
At which point he strides purposefully from the wall, toward the exit, stopping once to ... pick up a bag of chips and tuck it into his satchel. Feel free to have either seen the spirit ribbons, or a weird kid standing in the shadow groping the air, or to call out as he walks right by, totally ignoring you. ]
C -- DRAGONS (PRE SLAYING OR W/E) -- SHOOT THE MESSENGERS
[ There he was, a Quincy minding most of his own business, in pursuit of either an empty apartment or a shop to gather supplies.
In his world, beasts announce themselves. Even with suppressed reiatsu, inevitably comes the blast, the more power, the more overwhelming the reiatsu. It had been a long time since Uryuu had felt sickened by a particularly powerful pressure, either shaken or pulled to his knees, but one could feel it, the weight that would crush, pulverize, without steadying one's own pressure.
These beasts give no forewarning. The first sign Uryuu has, a blast overhead. His reflexes are good enough that he darts back, speed enhanced by the spirit particles rushing beneath his feet, but the wall overhead took the brunt of it and begins to collapse. With a burst of spirit energy, his blow flares out from his wrist, and he fires a volley -- enough to decimate the concrete, to blow it back.
Now, however, for the dragon. The actual. Dragon.
Somehow, a kid who has been fighting giant spirit monsters all his life, seems to be stuck, frozen, staring, having a problem with this piece of reality.
Dragon. Uryuu gapes. And, as if it wasn't clear enough, ]
D-dragon?! How is there a --
[ Whoops, time to dodge. Or help someone in the vicinity out? ]
D -- SHOPS / FREE OPTION IDK WHAT DO YOU WANT -- LOOSE TALK AROUND THE TABLES
[ Survive a dragon encounter relatively unscathed, still need supplies.
Free supplies.
Uryuu's walking through one such shop, glancing over his shoulder, expecting a cashier, an employee, a somebody. ]
It's... really free?
[ The quiet inquiry, his mouth tight with suppressed enthusiasm. Too bad there's not much cloth, but in the meantime?
He's loading up. ]
B -- CLOSED TO ICHIGO KUROSAKI AND RUKIA KUCHIKISAN -- WE KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE
It's almost too easy. It's too much, this strange place, this phone with its terse, no-nonsense explanation, Kurosaki and Kuchiki-san neatly listed, confirmed by their reiatsu, yet no one else. It's too much, that it is unmistakably Kurosaki's reiatsu, yet as Uryuu has not yet felt it. Not the bleached white after Aizen's defeat, not the strange shift as he involved himself with the Fullbringers, not the vibrant red of before everything (but after Kuchiki-san), not the vibrant red of after, of now. Of what should have been now.
It makes him cautious -- he's always cautious, but moreso, and there's additional motive to it, too, why he takes a roundabout path, looping out of his way, approaching that tell-tale orange hair from behind. And from above. Uryuu half-climbs, half-employs hirenkyaku to get himself on one of the stone protrusions, beneath the top and above the gaping opening of a window.
Uryuu literally perches there, watching as Kurosaki passes by beneath, what appears like an actual, physical sword on his hip.
A minute longer, frowning, but unable to make any further sense of it from watching. Uryuu yields, dropping down.
Directly behind Kurosaki.
Holding the bag of chips, which he'd pulled open as he fell. Chew, swallow. The label? Bad Hair Day. ]
These are terrible. I think they're more your flavor, anyway.
[ Holding it out, his expression bland. Also, what the hell is going on? ]

[like all good millennials, given a phone and a choice to use it, Connor goes for the technology first, reading through Mello's post with a mixture of disbelief and disgust but has to assume, unless this is an extremely elaborate dream, that this information is probably mostly correct. He shoves the phone back in his pocket and starts to survey his surroundings, shifting his briefcase on his shoulder and thinking about how utterly useless everything in it is at this moment in time.
as much as he'd love - absolutely love - to just sit here and mope, he knows that's probably A Really Bad Idea, so he collects himself and starts to head off, taking a deep breath to steel himself ahead of what ever messed up stuff is going to greet him and promptly steps on a bag of, no, not Let's, but some weird off-brand chip called Lays.
Connor curses under his breath,] Who just leaves chips laying around? [and examines said chips. the sad college student ironic. wonderful. considering that the sad college student chips are now completely destroyed, he picks up another back called Regret and shoves them into the briefcase, next to his laptop, only barely fitting in there with all the dumb extra room in the bag. he does this in the name of having provisions, though he's pretty sure he's never actually going to eat them.
now clued into the thing of needing to watch where he's going, Connor avoids several other bags of chips] Seriously, what the hell? [and heads off in search of better locales in the city. Hopefully not finding any monsters on the way.]
Dragons - Ha ha of course there are monsters
[getting away without finding monsters would be sweet and way better than anything connor should've come to expect, and, naturally, he comes across the dragons who look a) incredibly hungry and b) way stronger than he'll ever be. He's incredulous that this is happening. Dragons aren't real. Weird cities that kidnap you aren't real. All of this is so fucking surreal he starts laughing hysterical and vaguely unhinged for a moment before the dragon comes closer and he's hit with the terrible dread that believing this should be fake doesn't mean it is fake and he could be in real, actual, danger.
Connor throws the chips.
Like, for real, he opens up the bag of Lays Regret and just throws them at the dragon. And then he runs, quite the sight in good shoes and clothes, clinging onto his briefcase strapped to his shoulder so he doesn't lose it, bolting towards some place it looks like the dragon can't get in. Tunnel, abandoned building, whatever. Hopefully the taste of regret will slow that thing down and by him enough time. If not, he could be dead before he actually finds anything redeemable about this place.]

[This is... nowhere near where she expected to be in this moment. Going from rushing water to unconsciousness to here is way, way more than unsettling, and she's fidgeting with the buttons on her lab coat and clacking her small claws together as she shuffles slowly, and jumping as she hears the crinkling of the chips at her feet. These... don't look like any flavor of poptato crisps she's ever seen. Shyly, she breaks open the seal on a bag of 'the sad college student' and takes a bite.
Yeah, that tastes like the regret from her PhD. She's keeping this.
Of course, her thoughts are quickly interrupted by a roar and a dragon, and she yelps, running for the door as fast as her tiny legs will take her, and likely colliding into a few people in the process. Maybe it's you! Maybe you think this lizard person is another dragon! Or maybe you just want to stop her from the panic attack she's about to have on the other side of the wall.]

[She's... haha, wow, 'not doing so good' would kind of be an understatement. She's hunched up in a shop somewhere, behind a shelf, the bag of chips still held close and her phone in her sweaty hands. Okay. Another dimension. If she wasn't so horrified, she'd be happy about an old theory confirmed- or, uh, slightly confirmed, anyway. In the meantime, her tail is curled around her and her knees pressed to her chest, phone held close, reading the newbie guide over and over and wiping off her glasses to see if maybe they're the malfunctioning pieces in this insanity.
Really, she's trying not to cry. This... this is not what she wanted. This isn't what she wanted at all.
Feel free to find her in her, uh... current state, shoving more potato chips in her mouth out of sheer stress.]

He had plans. He had plans that involved a great deal of dawdling, moping, lollygagging, faffing about, and just generally being a useless layabout on the couch while Papyrus enthusiastically extolled the virtues of not being a useless layabout in the vicinity. He'd, uh. He'd kinda forgotten the beginning of the month gives way to a trickle-in of newbies. Linear time's a hell of a thing.
Thanks to his magic bein' the right shitshow it is, he's gotta take his time walkin' all the damn way there. And that's pretty exhausting. And he'd ordinarily be thinking, hey, what's the point, right? And then just immediately turning around and heading back home.
That's when the dragons arrived.
So Sans is - definitely not panicking, but maybe he's gettin' to a point where he's realizing this whole sitch ain't exactly the most favorable. He's moving at a pretty reasonable ramble for a guy who can't be assed to walk, let alone run, even on a good day. And it just so happens that a yellow blur runs slap-bang into him and nearly bowls him over, or would've if she weren't roughly his size.
He puts out a hand to steady her with a bemused grin.]

There is was again, that black and tar feathered stag, stalking Will before it past him, it's jagged antlers almost grazing his cheek while it neared. Will stood completely still, both curious and fearful at the same time. What was it going to show him this time? Where would it lead him?
The sweat trickled down the back of his neck to dampen his shirt, brow just as slick and wet with the stuff. Will exhaled, eyes fluttering to break his stare as if fighting out of some trance. Where was he now? He'd sleepwalked himself into some hairy situations before, but this felt like walking from one dream into another. As his eyes began to take focus Will noticed he was no longer in Baltimore or at least, no place in Baltimore that he recognized... No, but Will felt like he'd been here before, perhaps in a dream?
It wasn't the sights that finally drew Will's attention, it was the sounds. Screaming. Vigorous flapping in the air. More screaming and then something unlike anything he'd heard before. The lamenting wail of a Dragon.
No, it couldn't be true, it wasn't real! Looking around again, if he could still see the black stag that haunted him, perhaps Will could confirm for himself that he was still daydreaming. Yes, and there is was! A few feet from him, stood staring right back with those large, vacant, obsidian eyes. A breath of relief left Will's chest to sink, he almost laughed then, reaching out with a hand, though he'd never touched it before doing so should still be possible, after all, this was but a dream and doing so would only amplify that fact.
But dreams were meant for the sleeping and Will most certainly was not.
As his fingers stretched out, about to grasp a bunch of those, petrol, black feather around the stags shoulders, something large, enormous even, landed with a thudding blow onto the back of his stag. The animal sunk to the ground, its legs giving way like broken twigs underfoot and in its eyes, Will saw the reflection of the beast with vermilion fleshed wings. Something wet, wet and warm, to be exact, splashed Will's face, snapping him from his illusions and bringing to light the very horrifying truth.
Blood. It was blood that splayed over him, mixing in with his sweat and sticking to him, staining his skin, shocked and stilled he stood there silently. It was like shell shock, the way sound surrounded him before coming back. Faint and muffled screaming from all around, the carnage of the Great Dragon.
" Gah!! Good God, no!!" Exclaimed Will, turning his face away and screwing his eyes shut. He Tried to cover his face, to wipe the blood away as he listened to the Dragon's huge talons sinking in and ripping it's victim apart. Through slightly cracked open eyes, Will saw not the stag that haunts him, but a man, a very real and very human man in its place. This was real, his blood curdling cries were real and his dying from the Dragons wrath was real. "No, no!" He cried out, falling onto the floor, holding his hands up for cover as the Dragon opened wide its jaws and let sail a whirling breath of fire.
The heat was almost too intense, Will scrambled on his behind and heels, palming at the floor as he shuffled backwards until hitting the inner wall of the Colosseum. And it was there he would stay, in shock and awe, trembling with fear as he watched others fall prey to the Great Red Dragon.
Around the City:
He didn't know what was going on, having a vague feeling that he'd been here before, if only for a fleeting moment. Will stumbled around the City in flee of the deadly Dragons he could see soaring across the cave tops and landscape. God only knows how he escaped from the enclosure he awoke in but here he was, on weak knees and fractured spirit, just looking for somewhere to hide somewhere safe for long enough that he could get his bearings.
It was while slumped up against a previously charred walls, that Will first heard it, a familiar barking just up ahead. "....Winston?" No, it couldn't be? Why would his dog be here with him and during all of this? Again, he heard the barks and again he called the name " WINSTON!?" This time, Will found the strength from somewhere, the pit of his soul, perhaps, and was stumble-running around the long corners of the streets, in chase of a dog he could very well be hallucinating.
Yet there he was, golden and tanned, speckled black across the body, his latest recruit to the Graham family. Standing tall and proud - if not a bit on the dishevelled side - was Winston. "C'mere boy! C'mon!" Will clapped his hands, falling to his knees in the street. The moment the dog came bounding over and jumped up into Will's arms, he began to sob. It was all too much and Will was feeling overwhelmed, so it was there that he remained, face buried into the fur of his best friend, crying soulfully in the middle of the street.

"HEY!" She shouts to Will when she sees him backed away against a wall. Not a good idea, cornering yourself like that, Will! Jill hurries in Will's direction. She doesn't want him to mistake her for a threat, so she lifts her empty hands to show she means him no harm. She's armed with a pistol at her side, but it isn't drawn. Yet. She's also dressed in a tactical suit that doesn't look standard issue for any police organization. "Hey! Are you alright? Are you injured?" Okay, at least she sounds like a cop. It's just something in the voice.
Unless he fights her off, she'll try to grab him by the arm. "If you an move, then move NOW. Come on!"

a.) [a chip off the old block]
It isn't the first time Lea has woken up in a strange place with no memory of how he'd gotten there. Usually, though, Xigbar or Luxord is somewhere nearby also nursing a hangover or something, and eventually vague memories of having some kind of mission usually followed. That doesn't seem to be the case this time. He's seen a Coliseum before, but... not quite like this one. No sign of Hercules or that Phil fellow that Roxas had had so much trouble with... Well, it could be worse: he could have woken up in the Underworld.
At least he won't starve. What's with the chips? 'Regret'? Is that even a real flavor? Might as well find out, he guesses. Popping the bag open, he removes a single chip and gives it an experimental sniff before taking a tiny, dainty bite.
"Huh," he murmurs, "it really does taste like regret. Fancy that."
You might not be Xigbar, or Luxord, or anybody he's even remotely familiar with, but you're still better than finding yourself lost all alone. Care to strike up a conversation?

How many dragons are there?? He already helped put down the big blue one, and his OJ even survived the endeavor, but on his way home, he runs into yet another massive scaly beast. This one is bright red, and seems to radiate heat from its shimmering crimson body. He watches it take a deep breath and belch a great plume of flame toward the nearest building, leaving it a smoldering mess, and that's about the time Lea is ready to just check out. Coliseum he can handle. Regret-flavored chips he can handle. Multiple gargantuan mythical beasts with the power to reduce the landscape to charcoal?
Thanks, but no thanks.
Before he can hightail it out of there without being seen, though, he spots a figure across the way, plainly in the dragon's line of sight. It's a little too far for him to be able to see quite what the problem is--maybe they're paralyzed with fear, maybe they're injured, but whatever the reason, they're not getting out of the way, and the dragon is gearing up to take heartburn to a whole other level.
Dammit, all Lea wants is to go and find this housing area he's been told about, drink his OJ, and maybe futz around with this weird phone to try and get some answers! Why does his stupid conscience keep interfering? Ugh, being a Good Guy is hard work! With a grating sigh, he sets the OJ down out of the way, then summons his chakrams and sets them burning brightly.
"Hey, Big Red!" he calls, hoping to catch the dragon's attention. "Why don't'cha pick on somebody your own size?"
And he means it, too. He's not dragon-sized, either. Go away!
c.) [home sweet home: Spire Four]
Free lodging, huh? Lea can get behind that, especially since it seems there's no credit check or income requirements necessary. He spent the last twelve years living at his job, literally, so he's got no clue how one would normally procure housing. He's just glad it seems this place has a free single-occupancy unit on the top floor. Neighbors he can handle, but he's spent way too long being way too antisocial to deal with roommates. (Which of course means please be an annoying nosy neighbor.)
Eight floors, though, and no lift? No problem! Anybody in Spire Four, whether you live there or are just hanging around, may be a little surprised to see Lea step out of a whorling inky black portal on any given floor, just checking out the surroundings. He'll be living in 802, but that doesn't mean he's not interested in who else might be crashing in this joint.

Kain Highwind | OTA
[There are a few problems here, as Kain comes to on the chilly floor. It's an unfamiliar place, though that's not quite as troubling as it ought to be. After all, this would be the second time he's found himself in some strange new world. At least his memories are more or less coming back into place... he remembers home just as vividly as the gods' war. What's really troubling him is that he shouldn't even be here, alive. He comes to one conclusion as he gets up.]
This... is the afterlife... isn't it?
[The other problematic thing is that he's never seen a phone in his life, so the odd device he has on him... won't be of much use yet. He frowns at it, unsure where to even begin.]
2. Dragon fighting
[The roars he hears in the near distance are unmistakable. Dragons. They sound agitated too. Maybe that's why he's been brought here... to fight these dragons. He wouldn't be surprised, after all, Cosmos had called him for a purpose too. At least he has his lance with him.]
[Kain spends his early time in this unusual world exploring his surroundings and stalking after the dragons. If he sees anyone being threatened or in need of some back-up against the winged beasts, he'll take to the air from a distance, jumping high above and soaring down from seemingly out of nowhere to stab at their foe. A man in draconic armor saving others from dragons... why not?]
Thought you could use a hand.
3. DRAGON SLAYING [ooc: feel free to help him out here, but he'll ultimately be dealing the killing blow!]
[It's the black one that's caused him the most frustration, so it's the black one that Kain is targeting now. The battle is intense, with Kain barely staying long on the ground as he continually jumps to attack... and evade those terrible claws. Even so, there are some close calls, and he's getting a bit banged up in the process. Kain isn't deterred. He keeps on fighting, slicing and stabbing powerfully with his weapon. There's a deadly sort of gracefulness to how he moves in the midst of this fight... it's clear he's in his element here, that he knows what he's doing.]
[He growls as he slices his lance into the dragon's side mid-air, yanking the weapon free as he descends toward the ground. It won't be long now, but this dragon isn't going down without a fight...]

But at least he's not alone. He's only ever fought with Ichigo before, but he trusts the other two because Ichigo does, and for a moment, Souji's memory flicks back to the TV World, to facing off against the Shadows he fought there with Yosuke, Chie, and Yukiko by his side, and he smiles as he readjusts his grip on his sword, because it's been a long time - too long - since he's faced a foe like this as part of a team.
He's missed this.
Glancing down the line to the other three, he asks, simply:]

More pressing: whether Kurosaki and Seta-san can do this. Uryuu cannot judge Seta-san from his reiatsu, and as a stranger, he isn't Uryuu's responsibility, but Kurosaki -- well. He also isn't his responsibility. Further, Uryuu would never, has never told someone to stay out of it, that they could not do. Even in Soul Society when he doubted whether Inoue-san should be there, he had encouraged her.
It isn't such a bad thing, for all his by himself proclivities, to prepare alongside them, to have planned alongside them. It's an essential thing, too. He wouldn't tell Kurosaki to stay out of it, to stay away, for many reasons. Many, many reasons. This way, he can keep a direct and active eye on him.
The more he can do, the more Kuchiki-san can focus on diminishing its offenses and defenses.
And that's the plan.
Uryuu nods, meeting Seta-san's eyes, looking over Kuchiki-san and Kurosaki, then gazing up at the dragon. No need to repeat: he'll draw it. Kurosaki and Seta-san hang back until the ice takes hold. Until then, they are so much tinder, blades ready to become molten steel.
It's immense, red, the heat a palpable thing from here, already he's perspiring -- Uryuu feels his mouth thin and curve, this, he thinks, is going to hurt, and what a welcoming committee, and as he gathers the spirit particles beneath his feet, his bow arcing, webbing out from his wrist, he sighs -- ]
I really wish I'd brought a cape --
[ And no time to make one. Oh well. He's off, propelling himself into the air, zipping in easy diagonals right up to its massive, furious face, at which point he sends an arrow directly into its eye. He's already learned even a highly concentrated arrow won't pierce the scales, but he can make a damned nuisance out of himself, and eyes are always vulnerable. ]

[This whole guard business seems to be a whole lot of what Ichigo Kurosaki would be doing anyway, just with more paperwork. For instance, going to the coliseum to protect the new arrivals and fight off the monsters? Totally something he'd do on his own. Or at least, he'd check it out to make sure everyone else had it covered, and maybe he'd bring his sword along just in case.
But there aren't any monsters here.
So Ichigo is standing in the middle of the Coliseum, armed and confused, looking around and scratching his head.

Blinking blearily in the daylight as he steps out of the abandoned building that he'd apparently stumbled into, Wade slides one of his swords out of the sheath at his back and, in a valiant effort, suppresses the urge to drive it into his head to stop the pounding ache.
"Mm'kay. Will the fucker that woke me up please stand up and be counted so I can formally castigate him? An' by 'castigate' I mean 'cut into little tiny bite-sized chunks and serve over toast'?"
It's hard to know whether the dragons flying overhead have heard the challenge, but one of them decides to respond all the same. The large black dragon banks quickly, swooping in to land directly in front of Wade in a violent up-sending of dust. One baleful slitted eye opens and closes before she opens her mouth to scream a counter challenge directly in Wade's face. Aside from a grimace as the cry makes his splitting headache even worse, the only response Wade gives is an eager smirk.
"Guess dragon's on the menu this morning, then."
Shame he hasn't realized he's got nothing on but a mask and his boxer shorts.

[It's that time again. Rashid goes about his day when he sees people running around in different directions. He then sees just why they're hauling:

He can't tear his eyes away from the spires because there they are in all their giant glory. But he has to because it appears people are rightfully panicking.]

[When more and more people are escorted to safer areas, Rashid takes a moment to run towards where the blue dragon's been spotted. A few photos of a real dragon will be perfect for the collection! He just has to get in close enough and then fight/run as needed.

The temperature drops hard when he gets close enough for his first photo, enough to send a major chill down his spine.]

It's a question that could be asked on most days, back in Brooklyn as well as here in the cave. Steve steps outside and he finds trouble, somehow it's just that easy for him. But the Door is doing its thing again, and that always makes him hurry to tie his boots. There'll be new people, confused and vulnerable, and if history's taught them anything, there'll be other things too.
This time it's dragons, and even after his many months here, the sight of them is enough to make Steve stop in his tracks and stare wide-eyed up at one. But when the purple dragon breathes out and a building collapses, he's on the move again, calling back over his shoulder.]
Come on, there could've been someone in there!
[Alternately he could just run right into the dragon's mouth.]

Well, because new monsters mean new people so he was trying to make his way to the colosseum... and then there were dragons. Fucking dragons. He's been trying to hide from them, still determined to get to either the colosseum or the clinic, when he hears a massive crashing and someone shouting. Peering around the corner he can see the purple dragon has collapsed a building and Steve, of course, is running straight towards it.
Shit.
He breaks into a run behind Steve, catching up quickly and standing at the edge of the rubble. Hopefully the dragon will move on and they can search the rubble in relative peace. ]
Be careful, the last thing we need is to get trapped ourselves.

Tanaros pierced and slashed up so many times it was impossible to tell what injury had finally brought him down. And Satoris, his master, the slick feeling of ichor on his hands as he'd removed Godslayer from his chest. Was he about to witness another death, helpless to do anything to prevent it?
He followed the trail into the bathroom, seeing the small black and red shape curled up there. He's so very still that Ushahin fears the worst.]
Shadow! [Then he's there beside his friend, heedless of the prickly spines as he runs a hand over them. Shadow is still warm and appears to be breathing. At least this time, he wasn't too late.] Wake up. Please wake up.
