Intro Log: HOLY F*^K THAT'S A F*&KI%G DRAGON

Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for October
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: October 10th-13th
Warnings: New faces, new greeting posts, and dragons. What's more to want?

If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.

Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!

But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.

What's it like??

[It spills out quickly, Alphys gripping her little hands together tightly.]

Do you have artificial gravity or do you have to spacewalk everywhere? Do you have an official time schedule a-across the universe? Do you travel in a spaceship and if so is it yours or not? Is there a space king and queen? Have you ever been to a-another galaxy????

[SHE NEEDS TO KNOW THESE THINGS]

Okay, that's a lot of questions.

[ ahsoka shakes her head, chuckling. ]

Let's see if I can answer them all. I do have my own ship, but it would be cramped if I had to travel with someone else in there for a long period of time. And it does have artificial gravity, like all ships and stations do, but if you've gotta spacewalk for any reason, you have to rely on magnetic boots or hoping you know where you're floating. [ a pause; she hums. ] I've never been to another galaxy, but I've heard rumours of technology and ancient people that came from another galaxy, if old spacer stories count for anything. And technically, there's an Imperial standard calendar and time that ships under the jurisdiction of that government follow, but outside of that, every planet has its own political structure and time. Every planet has its own cycles, after all.

That's amazing.

[SPACE IS SO COOL OH MY GOD]

Is it... is it r-really beautiful out there? Looking at the stars?

[Considering she's never seen them. Just photos in wet old textbooks and dark shadows casting in through the Barrier's hall.]

[ oh. it isn't a question she's ever been asked, she doesn't think. but she does consider it. ]

It is. Travelling in peaceful space or finding the perfect, quiet spot on a strange planet at night to be alone with your thoughts are some of the most beautiful sights a person could ever hope to see.

[She tries to imagine them. She thinks about Ahsoka's words and the way she imagines stars look, like the glittering stones on the cave ceiling of Waterfall in a cavern where the rushing sounds don't reach, the grass is still, and not even the wind can find her.]

That's wonderful.

[She's finally pulled from her own thoughts, realizing she's kept this kind stranger much too long.]

Well, uhm, t-thanks for answering all that weird stuff! I uh, p-probably shouldn't keep you much longer, and uh, stuff. You're probably tired from, uh, fighting a l-literal dragon.

[fulcra]

I guess I should eventually find somewhere to take a break.

[ ahsoka gives a little shrug. now that it's been pointed out, she is feeling a little drained from the day, but that wasn't actually going to stop her from whatever she had in mind to do. a little tiredness never hurt anyone. (or it never hurt her, at least.) ]

But it was nice meeting you. We'll have to talk again some time.

[She'd like to invite Ahsoka somewhere nice, to make up for comforting her like this. Except she doesn't really have a place officially either, just an offer to crash with someone, really, and she's notoriously awful at inviting anyone anywhere into a personal space in the first place. But! Bygones.]

It was n-nice meeting you too. Good luck, uhm, finding somewhere to stay. There do seem to be a lot of, uh, apartments. A-At least.

[fulcra]

Yeah. Thank the Force for little things, right?

[ smiling warmly, ahsoka turns to go, only to realize that's not really a proper farewell. not when they have no way of talking again, outside of just wandering around hoping to run into one another. she's to the doorway when she stops to turn back, headtails swinging around her. ]

I'm Ahsoka, by the way. [ she gives a little lazy salute, hoping her name is enough for alphys to find her on the network if she ever needs her. ] I'll see you around.

[ and there's her exit, because what sort of fortuitous first meeting is it if no one has a snappy line to leave on? ]

[She waves a little dreamily as Ahsoka introduces herself, until it hits her with the crushing realization that oh god, she never said her god damn name. So she calls after as Ahsoka leaves, quickly, just so she doesn't look like a total schlub.]

I-I'm Alphys! Uh, D-Dr. Alphys, really, uhm-- it was nice to meet you!!

[And she leaves on her way too, a little better than she was before.]
