Who: New arrivals and everyone else!
What: The intro log for October
Where: The colosseum and all around the city.
When: October 10th-13th
Warnings: New faces, new greeting posts, and dragons. What's more to want?

If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.

Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!

But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.

Well... kind of?? When everyone woke up at the end, we all just kind of... knew? Remember? The whole Underground knows it! Did you really forget??

[Papyrus rubs his chin, deeply confused. Would Alphys really forget so quickly? There's something they're both missing here...]

... No??? I mean, I didn't forget, I don't t-think, because I don't think that ever happened. I didn't see the human again after they left Hotland. Before, uhm, c-coming here.

[What the heck happened to Papyrus?? She hadn't been paying attention to her screens after the Human left Hotland, but... she'd pretty sure she'd remember the barrier breaking! Especially since Papyrus seems to think she was there.]

...No?? They came back from the Core and must have passed through Hotland to get to Undyne, who wanted to talk to them...

[...Right??]

Something confusing is going on here! Wait, so you just remember up to when they went to the Core?

Uh, I guess? They l-left the Underground, though. With Asgore's SOUL.

[What... what is happening. Could it be the human took different actions for Papyrus? Or maybe they're.... not from the same world at all.]

Papyrus... is t-this what everyone else remembers? Or is it just you?

[Papyrus blinks blankly. That doesn't sound like Frisk at all. They would never take anyone's SOUL. Or hurt anyone at all. Besides... everyone stopped them from fighting with Asgore. Everyone was there.

He's not remembering wrong. He remembers so clearly.]

I... do not know. I have never asked the others what they remembered... I never thought anyone would think anything different happened at all. Alphys, I am very confused!

[This... this would be the thing that makes the most sense, despite still, obviously, making no sense at all. They're from slightly different worlds. Worlds where the human (Frisk, Papyrus just told her their name is Frisk) took different actions, was better or worse. And it hits her, out of the blue, what Papyrus is saying--

To Papyrus, the Human didn't kill Mettaton. The Human didn't kill anyone. They were... friends. The Human broke the barrier and they all got to the Surface.

The realization is staggering. No one had to die. Not one of them, at all.

Not... her, either.]

I think I am too, Papyrus. It's... possible, though, that w-what happened to us is slightly different. That there are different, uhm, versions of us, based on actions people take. Like, uh, s-slightly alternate universes. Or decision trees, that branch into other things, and... d-does this make sense?

[Does it make sense? It doesn't make any sense at all! It's difficult for Papyrus to follow her train of thought -- science was always his brother's strong suit -- but he tries his best.]

So... I am a different version of Papyrus, than the Papyrus you know? There are other Papyruseses? Erm, Papyrii?

[He doesn't understand decision trees and branches, but he might understand that there are other versions of any one person out there. If that's really what she's trying to describe. It's not that it makes sense, but that it doesn't... not make sense? Especially since he's kind of seeing evidence of it being true right here and now, with a person he knows who simply does not remember the same things he does.]

But... What if Sans comes from a different version, too? And Frisk? Oh no! I never thought to ask!!

Uhm... yeah, b-basically. It's like...

[How does she explain this properly. Hrmmm. This would be so much easier if Papyrus watched Star Trek.]

There's a study of science that operates on the law that, uh, there's infinite universes based on choices people make. So, uhm, say you're walking down the road, and there's a fork in it, and you go left. Well, there's a world out there where you went right, instead. And m-maybe, uhm, nothing changes! But maybe it changes everything in your l-life. So if you imagine it's true... we could, uhm, all be from slightly different worlds. Where one of us went right instead of left, and uhm. Everything was different.

[Too bad that difference was tragedy.]

But, uhm, it's okay! I mean, it's just... a little confusing, between us, uhm, i-is all.

[Papyrus' brow ridge knits as he listens attentively to the explanation. Attentively, yes, but some of it is kind of over his head. A new world just for each choice any person makes? Wouldn't that make a lot of worlds?]

So because I took the scenic route back home the day before Frisk came, I'm from a different world than you? Or possibly even Sans?

[Well, that's probably not the choice that changed everything, but who knows. Maybe it is. He will definitely have to ask Sans what he remembers, at some point.]

I can't believe there is a world where Frisk took King Asgore's SOUL... It's not like them at all!

[She wrings her hands together. Gosh, she didn't mean for it to be like this. She never wanted to distress him.]

Well, uhm, maybe. There could've been, uhm, a-any number of things. The possibilities are literally limitless.

[All kinds of possible worlds. Even this one, apparently. But now she's left feeling that she should comfort him, with absolutely no idea how to go about that.]

But, uh, s-since the possibilities are limitless, there's, uhm, n-no telling what could've been changed for that! I never, uh, I mean I never knew the h-human's name before, so, uh, maybe they're not even Frisk! It could be, uhm, an entirely different person. There's a lot of options, really.
