If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.
Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!
But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.
New, as of October's intro log is a Newcomer's guide that installs itself by default on every activated phone. Thanks, Mello!
Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

"Yeah. Just got here." He looked the man up and down. "You have any weapons?" His tone of voice made it clear he was asking out of curiosity, even concern, rather than any thought that his new acquaintance might pose a threat to him.
no subject
"I had a pistol... she took it." Frowning, feeling at his sides where his gun would have normally been holstered. That was right, when he'd been here for just a few fleeting moments, Maketh had taken his gun from him in the interest of safety.
no subject
"Pistol wouldn't do much good against dragons anyway. Not sure what will." He shifted his weight, then sighed deeply and slid to the floor, keeping one eye out the door. He was tired. He didn't get tired easily, but all this running around... he didn't know how to fight these dragons, and that was... terrifying, really. He was made to fight, made to kill, and here he was, unable to do either of those things.
So he had to reevaluate the mission. If it wasn't kill, what was it? Reconnaissance? Protecting the civilians? That was probably the best he could do.
He looked back over at the stranger and his dog. More softly, he asked, "what's your name?"

Will noticed things that other might not have picked up on, such as the sadness, regret, frustration and an overwhelming sense of being lost. Who was this man anyway? Looking over his attire, taking note of how he almost looked like someone who wanted to blend in and vanish. Interesting.
Snapping out of it as he was spoken to, Will instantly looked away, avoiding any immediate eye contact. " My name is Will... And I believe there might be a way to bait or possibly trap the Dragons, at least."
no subject
"What's that?"
Bait... trapping... it was a good idea, if it could be pulled off. If there was something they could use as bait, a trap big enough.

Taking a breath and talking as if he was having to force the words out. Stumbled and breathy. " In fiction, Dragons are proud and majestic creatures. They horde gems, jewels and gold. They also find any other living being to be inferior."
Taking a moment to scruff up behind Winston's ears as the dog, seeming the most relaxed out of the three, panted happily, without a care in the world.
"We have a few options. Appeal to its avarice nature and bait it in with riches and finery. Or we could treat it with the respect it feels it deserves. Offer it sacrifices of goats or cows. Something big and meaty."
no subject
"Big and meaty wouldn't be a problem." There were monsters in the caves that fit the bill, and he could kill those no problem.
no subject
"Then so need not, the Dragon."
The chances of his plan working were slim, he was thinking fast and thinking to save his own skin.

This was nothing like a handler giving orders, but it felt more right than having to come up with the overall plan himself. He wasn't supposed to give himself the mission, he was supposed to take it from someone else. And while Will wasn't the sort of person he usually took orders from, he had the air of someone who was familiar with coming up with plans. So he was willing to listen.
no subject
"Then... Then we tempt something bigger with the Dragon as bait. Always a bigger fish out there, one moment your the preditor, next your a shinning lure. I say we go Godzilla verses Mothra here, let the big boys battle it out."
So this man must have been some kind of military worker? The way he asked questions and listened to Will when he spoke? That was good, really, not exactly FBI but close enough and Will could work with close enough.
no subject
"They're the biggest things here. By far." Irritated, he picked at a thread in his pants, and then looked back outside. "I've seen everything else that's here. Nothing bigger than the dragons."
no subject
"Then, if we have no bigger fish, we find several small fish who think themselves to be big."
Looking at Bucky, watching him pick at the thread like a dog worrying on a bone. He was troubled and more so than just this situation. Winston stretched out, chewed at the pad of his own paw before padding over to the man and sniffing at his hands. Will watched cautiously.
no subject
"Better to keep them in the caves, I think," he said quietly. It wasn't his place to give opinions on a handler's plan, but Will wasn't a handler, and it wasn't that great a plan, honestly.
Furthermore, his place had become increasingly unclear as time went on in the caves.
no subject
"Happen here, did it?" Motioning with his head to Bucky's metal arm, still trying to avoid looking directly at him as long or as much as he could.
He was right though, Will's plan wouldn't work. It would possibly cause more problems than solve them. But then again, Will had only just arrived, he didn't know what things were lurking in the caves, heck he didn't even know about the caves until just now.
"Then I'm fresh out of ideas..."
no subject
"No. It was... a very long time ago." He could only remember bits and pieces. The only thing he knew for certain was that it was a bad time, and it was before things had settled, before he was... made into who he was supposed to be.
"Other people will have plans."
no subject
"He likes you." Will added, a small breath and a smile pulled at his lips before he sighed deeply and lent back against the wall, eyes closed and tired, still sore from crying earlier.
Having never been one for relying on others plans, Lord knows he'd gotten into some stick situations because of other people's plans! Will was a little disheartened by the aspect. "Can't you do anything? "
no subject
"Never fought a dragon before. Don't know what to do."
He had felt lost from the minute he arrived in the city, but just then he felt even more stranded.
no subject
So, he took a long and calming breath as he looked over at Bucky's feet. Avoiding his face as much as he could. " It's okay to not have a plan you know? We don't always have to put up a fight. That's what our Parasympathetic nervous system is for... You know, fight or flight?"
