If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.
Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!
But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.
New, as of October's intro log is a Newcomer's guide that installs itself by default on every activated phone. Thanks, Mello!
Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

camille is collecting monsters
Her snake scales turn yellow. Solidarity, maybe?
"I'm not sure where the nearest safehouse is, but I would imagine there would be a few, yes? The people I've met here are quite lovely, not the sort to just declare 'every man for himself'! And don't you worry, dear, not much of a fighter myself, either. I'm a baker, not a fighter."
good, free her
"I mean, I don't know where, uhm, any of them w-would be, or anything..." She presses her back to the wall a little harder, trying to think of what to do. "I don't think there's e-enough materials to fortify anything, either. Or at least, n-not like I would know how." Gosh, she's feeling useless here. She wishes she at least had enough strength to bar the door or something.

"No, I don't know either." Camille folds her arms, thinking hard. "Wouldn't even know where to begin! But oh well. I can keep you company for now! Don't really have anything else to do or anywhere to be, so! When we're feeling up to it, mayhap we can go hunt down one of those safehouses."
She doesn't want to push. She knows it's not a good idea to push when someone is scared and lost and probably panicking.
"By the way, I'm Camille! You got a name, hon?"
no subject
Everything's so unsure. But she's not going to be impolite, especially when Camille has given no reason for her to be.
"It's, uhm, Alphys. D-Dr. Alphys." Using her title here feels odd, considering she's not really the royal scientist anymore, but it's still her name. "I guess, uhm, if this happens pretty often, t-there must be some kind of safehouse, or something. Provided everyone here isn't, uh, just used to dragons c-coming down on them every few weeks."
no subject
It also helps that Camille is lost, but not particularly scared.
"Well, it's real nice to meet you, Doctor! From what I've heard, dragons are rather uncommon, but apparently weird critters showing up is a sort of everyday thing. Or weekly, maybe? Still getting used to it all, really."
She heaves a sigh.
"What a nightmare, right? Ending up in a whole 'nother world!"
no subject
"H-Hah, yeah. I had, uhm, always theorized there were other places, l-like this, but uh, this is sort of an extreme way to, uh, p-prove a theory, you know?"
Conveniently gonna leave out where those theories are from. She's a scientist! Scientists think about this all the time! Casually! And stuff!
no subject
"Really! How neat!"
She doesn't even mean it sarcastically. Just because she doesn't understand it doesn't mean it isn't cool.
"Other worlds and all that? I suppose it's been talked about at home. We have planes, you see. Tiers." She makes a stacking motion with her hand. "I suppose it would be silly to assume other worlds are structured the same. But having something like that does make it a bit easier to get one's head around the idea of other worlds. No reason there can't be other Trees out there, right? Proper forest, even."
no subject
"That sounds c-complicated. My world was uhm, underground. I mean, not the whole world, just where monsters would live, underneath a mountain. This place is uh... kind of like it? But mostly just the underground part." Only the Ruins look like this, probably. Though, truth be told, she's never been there. But no place in the Underground she's ever seen looked to be in this state of disrepair.
"There's a lot of d-different theoretical ways worlds could work, a-after all. Though uhm, gods and dragons isn't w-where I expected to end up." She punctuates it with a nervous laugh, meaning to ease tension, but probably just adding to it in the long run.

Folk, she's found, don't seem too keen on digging too deeply in the earth of the Mortal Plane. Superstitions and such.
"We have a sort of underground," she says after a few moments of thought. "When I say tiers, they're sort of built along a tree. The Tree of Life! Or the World Tree, depending on where you're from. The Mortal Plane at the base, the Whodden in the branches. The Underworld lies in the roots and, well, it's mostly where the dead go. You know, it's still interesting to me that you call yourselves monsters! I met two skeletons who said the same, or perhaps I dreamed them? Hard to tell! Do you know any skeletons?"
She chuckles a bit when Alphys does because yeah, who could have seen any of this coming?
"Right? The dragons I wouldn't have minded, but the whole idea of gods just rubs me the wrong way, personally!"
no subject
The skeleton question, however, perks her up considerably. "I know, uhm, t-two skeletons actually! They're brothers. They go by Sans and Papyrus. I know Sans m-more than I know Papyrus, honestly. He's an old friend." A really old friend, and a really complicated friendship, but that's not gonna be mentioned here. "I'm not so sure a-about gods and everything either, though. We have a King in the Underground, b-but he's not a god."
Absolutely has godlike arms, though. Dang.
