If your first thought upon waking up on the cold, hard ground of Hadriel's very own Colosseum is 'maybe I partied too hard last night', one, Delight would love you and two, you're wrong. Or- maybe you did, but that's not why you're here. Instead, you wake up with the same clothes you were wearing when you were last home, but surrounded by very different people. So, make some friends! Might as well voice your confusion and concern and show the technologically unsavvy of you how to operate these fancy new phones, right? Just be sure not to trip over these odd bags of chips on your way to greet your fellow man.
Don't spend too much time out in the open, though. There are monsters about, and not quite the usual ones. This month, Hadriel is bringing in four dragons, each with their own unique abilities and raidboss-esque stamina. They'll be terrorizing the city until someone puts them down- maybe that someone is you! Maybe you should, uh, actually hide. They're hungry and territorial and mean and they're definitely out for a good meal. Check out our OOC post for more information, as well as who will be eventually killing the beasts!
But hey, once you escape from the dragons, feel free to go explore the rest of the city! Find a house, find a new monster, or simply scavenge for supplies.
New, as of October's intro log is a Newcomer's guide that installs itself by default on every activated phone. Thanks, Mello!
Good luck, and enjoy your stay in Hadriel!► This log covers October 10th-13th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well!
► All characters arrive with phones that have network communication and the newbie guide installed.
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!

When Ushahin enters his house, he sees the blood on his walls. Someone is here. He flings his thoughts outward, catching hold of a familiar mind. His pace quickens, his breathe sucking in. Thoughts flash into his head: Vorax pinned beneath his horse on the battlefield, stabbed through the neck by a spear. Tanaros pierced and slashed up so many times it was impossible to tell what injury had finally brought him down. And Satoris, his master, the slick feeling of ichor on his hands as he'd removed Godslayer from his chest. Was he about to witness another death, helpless to do anything to prevent it?
He followed the trail into the bathroom, seeing the small black and red shape curled up there. He's so very still that Ushahin fears the worst.]
Shadow! [Then he's there beside his friend, heedless of the prickly spines as he runs a hand over them. Shadow is still warm and appears to be breathing. At least this time, he wasn't too late.] Wake up. Please wake up.

[He breathes a sigh of relief as Shadow comes to life beneath his hand. He's awake and talking, which means he's not dying. That's more than Ushahin could ask for.]
Satoris Third-Born, you're alright! [He says the name of his dead god like the way another man might invoke Jesus Christ in a moment of surprise or thankfulness. He immediately gets up and grabs a towel from a rack nearby. Shadow is still bloody and his injuries will need to be staunched or cleaned up, depending on their severity. Ushahin runs the water in the sink, putting the towel in, then wringing the excess water out before he brings it back over to Shadow.]
Hang the stains. What I'm concerned about is you. Where are you injured? And what happened?

Move your hand. If I don't help you, you'll be more dead than she is.
[If his words are gruff, it's only because he cares too much. Damn this hedgehog and his self-destructive tendencies. Will he only be satisfied when he's destroyed himself for his friends? Ushahin pushes the towel up against the deepest cut. The white is dyed red almost immediately. He looks from the towel back up towards Shadow.]
Was it the dragons?

[Ushahin's lips twist into a brief scowl at the request.]
You shouldn't sleep after losing so much blood.
[He's seen too many Men, Were, and Fjeltroll fall into a deep sleep after sustaining horrible injuries on the field of battle. Most never awoke ever again. Still, Shadow is special, and tougher than most creatures Ushahin has met in his life. If anyone can survive the slashes that adorn his furry body, it's him. And more importantly, he's Ushahin's friend. He can't refuse him much.]
I will help. But when you awake, I expect answers.
[He places a hand on Shadow's head and delves into his mind. He sees so much there, how Shadow blames himself for what happened, how his injuries mean less to him than the pain inside of his thoughts. The half-man pushes these towards the back and methodically darkens everything in his mind, letting it grow dim and fuzzy as the hedgehog's body unconsciously relaxes. He starts to sing softly, an ancient lullaby in the language of the Ellylon. It is one his own mother used to sing to him, old memories that are only half-remembered.]
Sleep, Shadow. Go to sleep.
[He spins a soothing dream for his friend, one made up of the old memories living on the space station high above Earth. Maria is there and so are some of the people Shadow has met in Hadriel. It is much like the dream he first met Shadow in, only he will make sure this one doesn't turn into a nightmare. He lets the dream descend upon Shadow's consciousness as his waking mind retreats.]
