Well, Hope and Delight are messing with the door again, but at least this time dragons aren't involved, right? This attempt goes a bit better - sure, no one gets sent home, but if everyone will just look under their seats, they'll find a FREE [INSERT SOMETHING YOU MAYBE DIDN'T WANT AT ALL HERE]! Awesome! So nice! Yup, throughout these few days people will be finding things from home - something they loved, something they used all the time, something they hated, something they totally forgot they even had. All sorts of cool stuff!
Well, they might not actually find it. Their neighbor might, or a complete stranger. And who knows where it could turn up? At the park, half-buried? In the Silent Hill zone, kept safe by a horrifying monster? Or hey, maybe in somebody's underwear drawer. Awkward. Better try to find your stuff, or find the owner of whatever weird crap you found. It could be something important.► This log covers October 15th-October 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you somehow manage to die in this event, please let us know here, and also what the hell?

You can't kill something like that, not when it killed you. At least, that's what Noah thinks. He doesn't want to admit that a part of him doesn't want to let it go.
The Demon does find Noah though, coming out of a shop, humming a song he likes. Whether or not he was intending to talk to Noah matters little - Noah spots the Demon and it's his friend so of course Noah smiles and jogs towards him.
"Hey!"
no subject
"Found something of yours. Sort of." He hesitates though, he may not be human and is still struggling to fully understand them, but he knows that no one wants to suddenly see the thing they were murdered with. What's he going to do, hang it over the mantle with a plaque?
He holds it up a little, not quite offering it to Noah, trying to brace himself in case he's about to get punched. Or worse in case Noah starts crying, he can't handle that at all. "If you want we can go light it on fire."
no subject
So Noah is patient, lets his excitement dim in preparation for some kind of problem to be presented. What he isn't expecting is this, not by any means. The skateboard. The almost apologetic way the Demon brings it up. It knocks the wind from Noah for a moment, expression fading from shock to blankness as he takes in the design of it. It's his.
It has blood on it.
It can't be anyone else's, can it?
After a few moments too long of blankness he holds out his hands for it, if the Demon is willing to hand it over.
"... Where did you find it?" Noah asks quietly.
no subject
"It was on the steps to Rage's temple." His hand drops to his side after he passes it over, arms stiff and awkward. It's a charicature of someone standing at ease and looking nonchalant, but it's obvious he's not real good at it; his point of reference for any human movement is a drunken mess who mostly shambled and sometimes passed out.
"I can get rid of it if you want." He's not sure if Noah wants the skateboard to have it, or if he's taking it out of an automatic response. The Demon is more than willing to break it if it'll make Noah feel better. "I was gonna find that asshole that had it and beat his head in. Again. You're welcome to watch."
no subject
He drags a fingernail through the edge of the blood stain. Pieces flake off like old paint.
"No," Noah says, shifting the skateboard in his arms to hug it close to his chest. "I mean - it looks like the gods are bringing things here from home, so - I don't think Whelk is here. Just the skateboard. I'll just - hose it off or something."
He doesn't want to get rid of it, in spite of what it was used for.
"... Bad enough he took my life, you know? He doesn't get to take something from me that I love."
no subject
"So it's just a present from back home? That's intensely shitty." Though leave it to Hope to think that giving someone their murder weapon will make them happy because it reminds them of home.
"It's yours, do whatever you want with it." His mind is trying to come to terms with this sort of philosophical thinking Noah is doing but coming up short. All he knows is rage and frustration and anger and disappointment. With no frame of reference for anything even resembling this situation he's not sure what to say at this point. "Maybe one of the gods we resurrect will come with a skate park."
Look at him not being a negative asshole for once.
no subject
Hell, maybe he can clear off space and retrofit something into one himself.
The thought gets a small smile from him in any case, because the Demon is trying, and the trying is what matters. Noah's even doing his best to keep tears from showing because he knows how upsetting that is for his friend.
"Do you have time to ... to hang out? It's okay if you don't." A lot has happened, and talking with the Demon always made Noah feel a little better... and Noah doesn't want him to be completely away from potential good influences.
no subject
The Demon won't ever admit it, but he's struggling here. He doesn't have a purpose, he doesn't even have any wants or needs, he just exists - which in Metro City was fine because he had a clear goal to work towards. Here he has nothing. Well nothing except having weird emotions and feelings he's never had before and is pretty sure he shouldn't be capable of.
The not crying is very appreciated and he's silently relieved that he doesn't have to try and console Noah, at least right now. "I have nothing but time."
no subject
If nothing else, he's pretty sure the Demon hasn't met Henry yet and Noah is desperate to impress upon him the importance of a good first impression now that the Demon has someone in Noah's friends group he hasn't pissed off yet. If even Henry just doesn't hate the Demon it will make Noah's life so much easier.
And the Demon needs more positive emotional experiences. Hope is a good one.
no subject
He doesn't like him as a god, he isn't fond of the emotion either. No that's not right, what he doesn't like is the feeling when the emotion ends. Best to not dwell on it. That'll fix it.
"Sure. Better than Fear I guess." Not that he particularly cares for any of them.
Manifesting a baseball bat he tosses it in his hands idly as they walk, a ball of energy that never gets released unless he's fighting.
"I still recommend lighting stuff on fire, destruction might make you feel better."
