Event Log: Keepsakes

Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Keepsakes event!
Where: All around the city
When: October 15th-October 19th
Warnings: A bunch of random crap.

Well, Hope and Delight are messing with the door again, but at least this time dragons aren't involved, right? This attempt goes a bit better - sure, no one gets sent home, but if everyone will just look under their seats, they'll find a FREE [INSERT SOMETHING YOU MAYBE DIDN'T WANT AT ALL HERE]! Awesome! So nice! Yup, throughout these few days people will be finding things from home - something they loved, something they used all the time, something they hated, something they totally forgot they even had. All sorts of cool stuff!

Well, they might not actually find it. Their neighbor might, or a complete stranger. And who knows where it could turn up? At the park, half-buried? In the Silent Hill zone, kept safe by a horrifying monster? Or hey, maybe in somebody's underwear drawer. Awkward. Better try to find your stuff, or find the owner of whatever weird crap you found. It could be something important.

► This log covers October 15th-October 19th.
► Feel free to make your own logs, as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you somehow manage to die in this event, please let us know here, and also what the hell?

[Alphys, at the moment, is around the Library- she had heard of it's existence and decided there may be something useful there, but... well, if wishes were fishes, she'd probably have a girlfriend. That one got away from her. What was important was that on the ground floor, there was a computer, that she was currently trying to give the monster version of CPR, sending little jolts of magic into the power cords to try and get it to turn on. She's pretty much established that it isn't broken, but the expenditure of magic that it would take to actually turn it on and get it working is a lot, and she also doesn't even know if it'll have anything useful. She's thinking about how to transport it back to the house when she gets the text, and the picture, and lights up, fervently texting back.]

omg i think thats my laptop!!!!!! O:
jeez i didnt think that would be here
does it have any power
i mean i guess bc you figured out it was mine or smth
thank you ohhhh my gosh that is going to be
SO nice =^w^=

[She thinks, for a second, and then sends a second text.]

[ Observation #1: Dr. Alphys by text reads differently than he would have expected from Dr. Alphys by video. He tries not to judge, see: Newton. Startled, the second it takes for him to recover provides a second text, and so he answers in one. ]

Yes, it had 57 minutes when I turned it off. It will likely have less after powering down and on powering up again. I also confirmed it was likely yours because the few documents I glanced at listed you as the author.

I did not read them past confirming that.

Kaiju Science.

[She smiles when she gets the response. Perfect! Now she doesn't seem like a schlub with nothing to offer.]

oh and to the other point

[She snaps a picture of the computer in front of her and attaches it to the message.]

then i think this might be yours too!!

[ ! Hermann stares at the attached image. It delays his response by thirty-eight seconds. He had been wary of expecting anything of his to come through, it would feel too much like hope, and despite his willingness to assist Mr. Hope, not the sort he could bear to have disappointed. Besides, odds were much better of it being something he wouldn't want.

That, however, he very much wants. ]

You're welcome.

We will have the same challenge, I think, as to power. That is one of mine, thank you. Newton called them dinosaurs and resented their very presence.

First, I suppose, I'll need a way to get it. Where are you, or where is it?

[She's puzzling over it now, trying to think if the two of them could lift it on their own, or if she's going to have to call Papyrus or something.]
