Who: Flick, Ulaume, Cal, Pell and Yukari
What: Dinner party!
Where: Hara house (1402)
When: Jan 16
Warnings: None yet. Will update as needed
Flick had banned Cal from the kitchen because he really didn't want him holding a knife and cutting things. Go figure. Ulaume was a different story, Lor he trusted intimately and one of the few things he trusted him to do was cut things up. Remnants from his old days helping Lianvis. At least this time he was cutting vegetables. It was one of those things Flick preferred not to think about, and if they weren't stuck here Lor wouldn't have been helping him chop at all.
As time goes by and Flick keeps cooking, he kept glancing back at Calanthe and Ulaume to make sure they hadn't killed each other and he didn't need to tell Yukari that dinner was off because his chesnari and his best friends chesnari had killed each other and now there was blood on the carpet.
Maybe if he was really lucky, Yukari would come soon and they could stave off murder. At the very least he could meet almost everyone. He knew how both Cal and Lormy could be with others. Flick silently prayed to Aruhani that the sniping could be kept to a minimum.

Exciting, really. In a perverted way.
He'd just shrugged when Flick had turned him around at the kitchen and waited, quietly and with every appearance of casual unselfconsciousness. He certainly wasn't blond to the fact that he was surrounded by unfriendly hara and supposedly also some unknown stranger who could prove just as antagonistic.
Only one way to find out, though. That was the shitty part.

The maturity.Once done with his part in fixing the dinner, he leans against the wall in the kitchen, out of the way. He contributed. Now he's just going to wait until the guest shows up. This seems important to Flick, for whatever reason, and he can behave. He's surprisingly good at being polite, these days, so it hopefully won't end too badly.
no subject
When he arrives, he politely knocks on the door and waits until he's invited in. The tension in the room is not missed when he steps in.
He was certainly expecting someone of the rabies sort, but two of them? This is rather intriguing. Just how often do these two dogs fight for territory? He imagines it would be rather easy to spark a match beneath these two and watch it grow into a roaring fire. But, of course, the courtesies first.
He holds out the flowers to Flick, giving a charming smile. "Thank you very much for inviting me over this evening. I hope these will do."
no subject
"Those are wonderful, thank you." He glanced back the two other hara and gestured. "This is my chesnari Ulaume, and over there is Cal. This is Yukari. I met him a little while ago and he's still finding his way around here. Let me go put these in some water."
Flick disappeared into the kitchen and fumbled for a vase. So far they'd been both very good. Call him biased, but he was more worried about Cal than Ulaume, although the with the gift of flowers he was a little nervous. He peaked out of the kitchen to watch while filling the vase. Yukari seemed so nice.
"I had hoped to also introduce you to Pellaz. He's been here a lot longer than any of us. He knows the city well. I'm sure you'll meet him soon."
no subject
At his name, though, he nodded once, not bothering to hide the interest on his face. That was probably rude but what did he care? Their visitor is only human, right?
"'Yukari?' What an interesting name."
no subject
It's funny enough it might keep him in a good mood, despite whatever stupidity Cal throws at them later on.
"Welcome." is all he says, general attitude echoing Cal's. This is Flick's show, all he has to do is be here. Right?
no subject
"Ah, Flick has already mentioned quite a bit about you. Surely, you have someone quite wonderful for a partner, Ulaume-chan." He tries to give the undertone of rest assured, he's not my type. Because, truthfully, he's not. Far too submissive for his tastes, and love is an awkward field for him anyway. He's not going to challenge Ulaume for Flick's attentions in that sense.
"Ah, thank you. I'm rather fond of it myself," He says as he turns his attention to Cal. It's actually a rather effeminate name, but that's never bother Yukari. He found it rather amusing if someone were to mistake him for female and then be shocked to find out he's male. And he's not bothered by Cal's intrigue in the slightest. He'll take the attention, actually. It's always interesting when someone is curious about him. Although, it rarely ends well.
And then there's Flick.
"Ah, and this Pellaz-chan is the one you said would be able to show me around best?"
no subject
You two have to make friends with some humans eventually. They're nice. Flick sent them, putting the flowers in a vase and setting them on the table. Maybe he should have made sure Pellaz was here.
"Yes," Flick's eyes moved to Cal. " I'm afraid there are areas of the city I have yet to go near." He wasn't going anywhere near the tunnels. Not after the 'lets feed the dragon' incident. He learned his lesson. He's sorry for his insane stupidity Lor.
no subject
He almost rolled his eyes at Flick's declaration in his mind, but managed to keep the reaction to himself, instead sending back the equivalent of a noncommittal shrug. Maybe he should meet more humans since that's all that seemed to be here aside from the four of them and the occasional more alien life, but really, how many times was he going to hear that?
"Pell would volunteer without even being asked."
no subject
On the outside, though, he's polite enough to seem interested, eyes meeting Yukari's when he speaks. "Of course I do." Rude? Who cares? That's about as good as it gets when it comes to praise from him regarding Flick--saying such things out loud is pointless when the pair of them share minds regularly.
no subject
Short conversation is a strong indicator of other things underlying, be it disinterest or murder. Neither of them seem particularly interested in continuing proper conversation. How amusing. Well, if no one else is going to start anything, maybe Yukari should get started on it. He walks toward Flick, gracefully and even humming faintly.
"Flick-chan, would you like any assistance? Setting the table or preparation? I am well skilled in tasks and cooking, myself." He just has to find something to tease the little Har about. See how long he could drop his true personality on the too-innocent child before one of the border collies attacks the wolf for prying at the sheep. The fact that these dogs are rabid ups the fun by that much more.
no subject
Flick stiffened as Yukari moved to walk into the kitchen and pointed a finger. "No. Out. Go sit down, dinner's almost ready." Sorry Yukari, the kitchen was his. You'd interrupt the flow. Ulaume was only allowed in there on a case by case basis.
Sighing, he glanced at the other two hara. Fine. Don't make friends then. and then privately to Lor Don't be rude, Lormy.
no subject
And no, Flick, he had no plans of making friends. Not here, anyway. As far as he was concerned, that wasn't why he was here.
"It's safer out here, trust me."
no subject
They really are on the same side, after all. Both here because it's expected. Maybe they can survive the night and disappoint Yukari by the lack of violence.
"Besides, you're the guest."
no subject
"Alright, I guess the kitchen is their territory then. Everyone deserves to have something that's theirs. That was honestly my fault."
Not that he's outright apologizing. He almost never does. Passing an oops is probably the best anyone will get out of him that doesn't play an extremely significant role in his life.
He pushes a strand of hair behind his ear as he finds himself a seat and makes himself comfortable, resting his chin on the back of his hand. Guess he's going to have to play another card to get started. friend-making it is.
"So, what do you two particularly interesting individuals do for fun?"
no subject
"Sorry I'm late, someone came into the clinic right when I was about to leave." Flick had told him someone was coming to dinner, but he forgets the name. He turns to the stranger and offers a hand. "I'm Pell. You are?"
no subject
"Pell! Welcome home, dinner's almost ready. This is Yukari, he's new. I thought you might be able to help since you've been here the longest."
As for what they did for fun? Flick certainly wasn't answering that one. Let Cal or Lor do that. They had no filter.
no subject
"Welcome home."
no subject
...They really had been wandering up and down the river too long if he can't come up with anything 'fun' he does that's remotely interesting to talk about. Meditate. Tell stories with Lileem. Make little clay figures, sometimes, small things not not really worthy to be called 'sculpting'.
Well. He'll pass up that question for now. He just nods to Pell, politely.
no subject
"As Flick-chan says, I am Yukari Mishakuji."
Nevermind they had seemed to dismiss his question upon Pell's arrival. Perhaps the arrival of this Har will make the dinner party more interesting. Yukari easily switches gears to focus his attention on Pell.
"Flick-chan has said quite a bit of you already. You sound like a delight to be around, and they told me you're very knowledgable of Hadriel."
no subject
In any case, Pell's grip is surprisingly strong for such a delicate looking hand, and he shakes firmly before returning his grip to the strap of the bag on his shoulder. "He's a flatterer. I do know the city well, though, I've been here quite awhile -- just how new are you? There's a map of the city on your phone, I can show you where things are."
no subject
Flick brought out dinner and set it on the table, and not for the first time since he went through the Door did he wish there was a better array of food. There was only so much one could do with canned food, and Pell had warned him off the meat.
no subject
The food looked good, though. It always did when Flick had his way. There was some magic in it, he was certain. He tried to shake off the feeling of wrongness as he looked back to their visitor.
"I doubt you'll eat better than this here."
no subject
Something strange is in the air now. He does the only thing he can, for the moment, which is sitting down at the table casually. They're entertaining a guest. Whatever is off can wait, since no one is dying or dead, or seems to be in trouble at all. Right?
...What's with this 'chan' word, anyway?
"No question of that." Look, dog, he actually spoke to you.
no subject
Keeping his focus on Pell for the moment, he smiles in return.
"I'm fairly new, about a month or so." He's lying a little bit here. He's not that new. But then, he can't say he's actually interested in receiving guidance around Hadriel, either. It was a ploy to get closer to these people, to see what they're like and how many of them he can manipulate. "I didn't know about the map in the phones."
When he's spoken to about the food, he remains ever polite and gentlemanly, as far as manners go. He'll take his seat at the table, sitting next to Pell, if he's allowed. He certainly finds this particular Har interesting.
"I look forward to it, then. Thank you." His smile doesn't change in even the slightest.
no subject
"It's this app here... we have a GPS I think it's called, so you can see where you are."
no subject
Lor definitely had it made. As long as they were together, he never had to do more than chop something, and Flick did the rest. Was it nice to be kept? Still it was nice to hear that they appreciated him. Especially Cal. That was nice.
"I hope you enjoy it. It's a little difficult with the limited ingredients we have here."
Flick arches an eyebrow as Pell ignores everyone. Well, at least he was getting along with Yukari?
no subject
Eventually after a moment he turned away. He was supposed to behave tonight.
"You're a damn miracle worker, to be sure."
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Watch, wait, and be nice. He can do that. He doesn't have much to say, but he can't let Cal outdo him with Flick-flattery...
"Agreed."
no subject
"I'm certain it will be delightful, Flick-chan." He gives a smile at Flick. He briefly looks at the others around the room. "It seems you have quite the reputation amongst your peers already."
