Event Log: Patron Gods

Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Patron Gods event!
Where: All around the city
When: March 15th-March 20th
Warnings: The gods choose you! Whether you choose them back is your call.

It's March 15th! Whether or not you've been having a good or a bad week, the gods decided to get together and put all the characters on teams- just like in those gym classes that you always skipped! Whether or not you were the last one picked is up for debate, but until we can figure that particular mystery out, there's another one to mull over... namely, who left that mysterious note in your bedside table/shoe/fishtank? And how did you get a friendship bracelet twined around your wrist?

Regardless, when opened, the letter will say-

'Congratulations! You have been chosen! [God name] thinks you're a great fit for their team! All you have to do is spread their emotion, and you'll get a blessing - and if your team wins, you get the grand prize: one (1) request for each member of the team, no payment required! Or you can band together and request one big thing, it's all up to you! So find your allies, get started, and let's win this thing!'

Whether or not this is for real becomes immediately obvious, as you seem to find yourself yearning to cooperate with your teammates, and maybe feeling a bit competitive toward your foes. Grab a squeaky chicken or a creepy doll or a snowglobe from the shops if you like, and let's get inspiring! Of course, you aren't forced to participate, but have fun telling your teammates that nobody is going to win their wish because you decided to be a stick in the mud.

Go forth and spread joy! Or sorrow, or scare people, or just really piss them off- but whatever you do, try to have fun and build that sense of community! You're going to need it...

[When Jade finds the letter from Sorrow, it's almost a relief. It gives her permission to be sad, confirms her suspicions that she can't ever be really, truly happy. Jade may not be the most competitive, but she's an expert in being sad. She's spent the morning moping around the house when she starts to notice the subtle changes, the additions of brightness and color that Connor's added to their home. Jade's not sure she's a fan, they go against the overwhelming mood of sadness she wants to infect their home with.

She eyes a particularly cheerful pot of flowers that stands between her and her bedroom.]

What the fuck are those for?

[yeah jade!! take that sadness!!]

To liven the place up a bit. Put in some color.

[She makes a face, fiddling with the blue bracelet on her wrist.]

Why? A third of the house can't even see them. They might even make Matt feel bad... [Which would help her mission more than Connor's.]

[iustitiae]

Matt has a very keen sense of smell.

[connor taps his nose. also you know matt has superpowers but that part is a secret (?)]

[She rolls her eyes, letting out an exasperated sigh. Sorry, Connor, this is the teenager you chose to live with.]

You both got adopted by like, happiness gods, didn't you?

I don't know if "adopted" is the right term?

[fourthsaken]

[She pauses, fiddling with the bracelet on her wrist again. Connor has a point, the gods aren't as hands on as "adopted" makes it seem.]

Recruited? Is that closer?

[iustitiae]

There we go. Recruited, I like that.

[fourthsaken]

I'm right, right? You both got recruited by the happy ones...

[iustitiae]

I'm as shocked as you are.

[because he's been a useless mope and matt...obviously has some anger issues somewhere in there.

i mean, ok, he knows jade is saying this as a like "you guys got happy and i didnt because im a sad emo teen here im proving my point" but hes also intentionally ignoring that aspect.]

[Jade rolls her eyes. Obviously Connor is purposefully not getting her point.]

I'm not shocked at all. You guys are like, good people who wanna help others and plan fun things and shit. You're not gonna be picked by the sad ones.

I'm sad a lot more than you think.

[fourthsaken]

Seriously?

[She tries (and fails) not to sound too interested. She shouldn't wish her friend was sad. But sometimes Jade feels so alone in her sadness, she can't help but be curious.]

[iustitiae]

It's hard not to be, after all the shit that happened.

[ i mean, he kind of made i everyone's business over the network. or at least his double did.]

[Jade may be recruited by sorrow but that doesn't mean she actually wants Connor to be sad. She shoots him a worried look.]

Are you talking about all the shit your double did?

[iustitiae]

What he did wasn't as bad as what I did back home.
