Event Log: Patron Gods
Who: Everyone participating in the event!
What: The event log for the Patron Gods event!
Where: All around the city
When: March 15th-March 20th
Warnings: The gods choose you! Whether you choose them back is your call.
What: The event log for the Patron Gods event!
Where: All around the city
When: March 15th-March 20th
Warnings: The gods choose you! Whether you choose them back is your call.
It's March 15th! Whether or not you've been having a good or a bad week, the gods decided to get together and put all the characters on teams- just like in those gym classes that you always skipped! Whether or not you were the last one picked is up for debate, but until we can figure that particular mystery out, there's another one to mull over... namely, who left that mysterious note in your bedside table/shoe/fishtank? And how did you get a friendship bracelet twined around your wrist?
Regardless, when opened, the letter will say-'Congratulations! You have been chosen! [God name] thinks you're a great fit for their team! All you have to do is spread their emotion, and you'll get a blessing - and if your team wins, you get the grand prize: one (1) request for each member of the team, no payment required! Or you can band together and request one big thing, it's all up to you! So find your allies, get started, and let's win this thing!'
Whether or not this is for real becomes immediately obvious, as you seem to find yourself yearning to cooperate with your teammates, and maybe feeling a bit competitive toward your foes. Grab a squeaky chicken or a creepy doll or a snowglobe from the shops if you like, and let's get inspiring! Of course, you aren't forced to participate, but have fun telling your teammates that nobody is going to win their wish because you decided to be a stick in the mud.
Go forth and spread joy! Or sorrow, or scare people, or just really piss them off- but whatever you do, try to have fun and build that sense of community! You're going to need it...► This log covers March 15th-March 20th.
► Feel free to make your own logs as well
► Please tag headers of threads with content warnings where they apply
► Please put your character's name and open/closed in the subject line of your starters!
► If you're just so mad at the gods that you'd rather die than participate, then let us know here!

[it's as easy as that. prompto has no problems with sharing his camera with someone, though he'll hover over them a lot to make sure they don't accidentally break it somehow.]
[he gets closer and puts the camera up to his face, giving out a few directions to ned before snapping a shot. he scans the preview on the screen, grinning, positively pleased with how it came out. he's walking closer to the other as he does so, turning the screen over]
You wanna pick a filter? I got a couple.
[time, pop, vintage, memory, bloom, dawn, journey, roadtrip--all these names swoop by as prompto swipes through the screen]
no subject
He's still leaning over to look at the screen, impressed at all these filters. Whatever that is.]
They just fiddle with the film? —Let me see that journey one again.
no subject
Kinda. This camera doesn't have a film, so the picture's a bunch of pixels that can be played around with.
[he swipes back to the journey filter, grainy and hued down, the kind of picture you'd find pleasant enough to frame or keep in a photo album]
How's that? Too bad I can't print them out, otherwise I'd let you have a physical copy. I'm trying to see if I can get the materials for a photo printer though...
no subject
They just stay in there? [wild??] Sorry, I'm... all the cameras I know are bigger than your head and you've got to stand there for a while before the picture sets in.
[Can he just reach over and... try to swipe a filter, himself... he's doing it.]
no subject
Pretty cool, huh? These are actually a newer version to those types. I mean, those are super old. We must be from very different time periods. I would die to get my hands on one of those antiques, though...
["old," "antiques," ouch]
no subject
I'd ask you what year it is, but that doesn't seem to mean a thing to anyone here. If I happen to find a normal camera, [not antique,] I'll let you know. They're bulky.
no subject
[a small shrug, and he's pointing at the screen]
You like that filter? I wish I had the one that I can put stickers on the picture itself, but I'd need a software up--
... I just keep saying all these technical terms, s'rry. Do you like it?
no subject
Stickers...? Like stamps? [HMM] I think you got my good side, anyway.
no subject
[though he realises just how empty that sounds, in a place like this; remembering how it was, right before he arrived here.]
Name's Prompto by the way.
no subject
Ned. And I think you've got the chops for it, so here—show me how it's done.
[He lifts the camera some, expectantly. Teach him your ways.]
no subject
It's a touch screen. It means when you touch it, it accepts the command. But you can also use the buttons if you don't feel too comfortable doing that. So, if you want to take a picture, you gotta go back to the camera option... And then, you can zoom in and out like this... And once you're happy, you press this button up top to shoot.
That's the basics, anyway.
no subject
Huh, you don't say. Alright, let's get you in a picture. [He gestures for Prompto to go pose or whatever he'd like to do with all that energy. Ned's tiny, so he might have to step back a bit so the picture doesn't look too much like it was shot from below... it's fine.]
no subject
Alright! Try to get a real good one of me, Ned!
[he skips further to the front of the other, turning onto his back with the ease of someone who never stops moving, it seems. he strikes one of those poses that would only make sense if you lived in the 21st+ century, so please don't judge him too much.]
[it's A Cool Pose]
Cheese!
no subject
is one hell of a pose, kiddo. Ned raises an eyebrow, and maybe he's judging a little, but he can hide most of his smirk behind the camera when he holds it up. Steady, steady...]
Cheese? [weird,] Okay—one, two... [and click!! He stands there holding the camera up for a good ten seconds longer than he has to just in case, before lowering it to look. Come, come look at his terrible dead-center composition.]
no subject
...oh!
[it's... very plain. dead-center composition, a bit blurry on the edges, a little too zoomed in for prompto's preference]
[but it's ned's first time with this kind of technology, isn't it?]
It's not bad... [and prompto's not necessarily one for tact. he makes up for it with a very quick suggestion, however] Hey! I know! Do you want to practice taking some other shots for a bit? I mean, it's the only camera I got and it's one of my favourite things to do so I can't let you keep it, but... How does an hour sound?
no subject
I can tell it's you. [Score: 3/10] But if you've got an hour to spare, I'll take it. How many pictures does it take?
[It doesn't have plates or film or anything, how many pictures of rocks can he take??]
no subject
[all this, with a wide spread of his arms]
[but he soon takes his camera back, just to swipe back through the previous pictures he's taken. he puts it on slideshow mode, to show ned.]
You want to consider the background and the lighting and the angles and the position of whatever your centerpiece is. Or if you don't want a centerpiece at all...
[you can tell he loves this]
You can take as many pictures as you want! I'll just erase the ones that aren't great or were flukes so it doesn't eat up at the memory.
no subject
It's like making a painting in a minute. You like paintings?
[He's looking around as he asks, searching for something worth taking a picture of—maybe a building or something.]
no subject
[instant gratification generation, you know.]
But I can appreciate them if I had to. A picture's kinda like that though, yeah.
[he's kinda hovering... wondering what ned will take a shot of. everyone has a different view of the world.]
no subject
[Illegally, but who's counting. He seems to finally make a decision to take a picture of a nearby building, but hesitates and looks over at Prompto again instead. Hmm.]
I've got an hour, right? Take a walk with me to see something a little more interesting.
[It's just... another building he has in mind, somewhere else. Never mind that.]
no subject
[he tilts his head; you were so close to taking a picture!]
[but you can't push the artistic drive any which way, so prompto just puts his arms behind his head and will be willing to follow the other]
Dude, anything's interesting as long as you think it is. Given that... anything in mind?
no subject
You seen the old pub around here, the one no one's using? I'm using it now—we're off to commemorate how it looks before we're done sprucing it up.
[So, a different building, and specifically a shitty one. Just go with it.]
